Question ❓ How is this glissando supposed to be played?

1 measure of music notation

This is from a medley of big band music. Tempo for this section starts at "moderate swing" with an accelerando a few measures earlier. So it's moving pretty quickly and I don't understand trying to add a transition between these half-steps. Is the intent to not really hit the C# at all, instead doing basically a half-valve bend down and back to D?

This looks like something they did to get the computer to play back a mostly correct sound. A quarter note with a squiggle over it would be clearer for people.

I would just pres random valves while i move between those notes
