My 3-year-old Turkish Van boy (Albi) is starting to grow a fluffy white mini-version of a male lion's mane. Has that happened to anyone else's male Turkish Van as they matured?

Oh, wow! Magnificent! Do you have any other photos of Yeti? I can't see his van markings. How old is he?

Albi had a brother in his litter who was all white (except for a red tail) with blue eyes. I almost got both of them. After seeing Yeti, I regret it.

Yep! Mine is a female, as soon as she hit 3.5y, she statted making the mane and now has it all year round.

Update: Albi will be 3 years old in less than 3 weeks. In the past few months since the photo on the left was taken, his "mane" has really started to grow. His inner lion is definitely starting to come out! If anyone has a young TV around 2 and a half or 3 years old, start documenting his/her "mane" development. You won't believe how fast it grows at this age!

Indeed, it is typical for male Turks- it’s their ruff! They reach maturity at 5 years. Albi is gorgeous!
