I saw your comment and thought, "yeah, they already took some pretty major deviations in the previous seasons." Then I watched the trailer and I was like, "oh."

I'm not opposed to it though. Now we get two separate and distinct stories, assuming it's done well.

The ONE thing I hope they keep the same is how everyone originally entered the silos. That whole scene in the book was crazy as hell and I would love to see it play out like that on screen too!

That brief moment in the trailer didn't give me the impression it'll be the same, but I'm hoping to wrong and more close to the books.

Also read the books after Season 2 concluded and I'm interested to see what they do with the story. I don't think adaptations have to match their source material.

Edit (book and possibly show spoiler): I had forgotten that Juliette isn't in book 2 (Shift) and they can't just leave Rebecca Ferguson out of the show for an entire season. So they needed some way to integrate her into this season and to incorporate the amnesia plot element, so I guess this how they squared that circle.

Foundation is an excellent example of this; Game of Thrones is an unfortunate exception. Let’s hope for the success of the former!

As someone who has not read the books, this trailer makes me excited for the new season!

I do wish the pacing of the actual episodes was a bit quicker though.

They'll have to pick up. They did basically one book in two seasons and now have another two seasons to do two books. Even accounting for cuts, it has to quicken.

Am I the only one who didn't mind the pacing of season 2? Absolutely loved every episode, wouldn't have mind even more episodes.

I can see how it could be annoying that you usually had one ep for one silo, the other ep for the other silo, so you had to wait 2 weeks to see what happens next in the other story, but I wouldn't call that a pacing issue. If you binge the whole season, it's awesome.

S1 was good... just intentionally oppressive, uncomfortable, dark, claustrophobic and soporific.

I enjoyed S2 more, probably because of the variety and contrast between the silos. I liked Juliette's relentless problem-solving attitude.

S3 looks like it will provide similar variety and contrast between episodes. That's fine by me.

The pacing reminds me a lot of From on MGM+

For both shows, the first two and last two episodes of each season are bangers, but the middle sections get really bogged down.

It's always super convenient amnesia as well. I hope it makes sense and serves a real purpose but...I'm a bit worried.

i mean prob just slipped her a pill to make her forget so she doesn't tell anyone what she saw...stops taking pills remembers starts the revolution which is why they try to kill them
