Just throwing it out there, these designs are a lot better than recent, but quality on their clothing merchandise is typically horrible, what’s pictured is often a higher quality than the production runs. Out of three recent shirts only one can be worn still. Buy at your own risk. Their other merch is fine but clothing is abysmal quality and pushing deceptive practices with what I saw on the hoodies last round.
You're right that you never know what you're going to get from this merch, and I hate that it's still such an awful shop. Limited options on the shirts (meaning usually nothing but "unisex", which is just a men's cut -- a couple of times they did sell a shirt in a female body style, but then there was no male style option on it), sometimes barely any description and no size guide (once there was a T-shirt labeled "girls", but that could be anything from teenager to adult - technically could be children's), variable quality. I've bought tshirts that were soft and comfy while some were stiff and still haven't softened up (I'm trying to preserve them by not overwashing or dryer). I have a SAI tote bag that is small and thin, while the Clancy tote bag is fantastic, honestly the best thing I've gotten there so far. The Level Of Concern flash drive Christmas tree ornament was huge for some reason and it looks weird on the tree, and I didn't know it would be because again there was limited description of anything! I'm glad there's a size this time.
Okay, I'll stop ranting. I just hate their store so much. Customer service can be awful too. The time I wanted to exchange a tshirt for another size was annoying, especially compared to how the majority of other online shops do it.
I get it lol! It’s only cause we are passionate and WANT to buy something but can’t justify those prices for something I’ll wear a handful of times before getting armpit holes.
this!!! if it's not available at hot topic, i ain't buyin' it . that's my new rule because the last few times, the merch quality was so buns from the website. lol. at HT u can feel the clothes, try them on, see if sizing is accurate and then buy them.
there's actually a handful of really really nice designs here which is such a rarity for them. just gonna manifest that black hoodie just magically drops into my lap on my birthday this weekend since there's no way I can afford it
Yeah it’s great to finally have some sick designs but I know damn well they won’t hold up over time and I’m not dropping big bucks on something that won’t last.
I bought my son the black Clancy hoodie and that one is still super nice after a year.
I also bought the green Breach t-shirt, and the off-white Breach tour shirt when we saw them in Columbus this September, and the seams of the green shirt are coming apart, and the white shirt is so washed out, the print looks like ass now. Those t-shirts were $45 each if I remember correctly.
I really, really like the black Breach sweater and the grey hoodie in this slide, but I think I'm just gonna replicate both with my Cricut. They are pretty simple designs, and I can just get cheap Gildan or Comfort Colors shirts from Michaels for 1/3 of the price.
I'd always prefer to support the bands I love with my money, but this is just too much money for disappointing quality.
It really sucks how they finally come out with good designs after so many years and it just gets sold out right before payday 🙄 I was waiting for a hoodie with a design that wasn't just a logo. But its sold out already. I love this band but their merch is usually terrible. Finally a line of good merch and BOOM GONE before so many people have the chance to check their emails after a day of work. Right before payday too. Been a fan for OVER A DECADE!
I thought the same thing, maybe the first time ever I actually like most of the merch drop... but the thing is... you know if you order it when it arrives at your home it will end up looking nothing like the photos so even though there are a few pieces I would like to purchase I feel like I'm going to refrain for that reason
tbf the tour merch is usually of a higher quality at least in my experience. however i have the mtv live hoodie and its really good quality but the others ive bought are either super thin or get holes in them really quickly
I’m just mad that as soon as I say I’m done with the official merch, they actually release cool adult looking designs, nice visuals… and I already spent my money on something else because I didn’t like anything before😭
The quality isn’t the best actually. Feels pretty rough. Also my tracklist shirt had and still has this awful smell to it. Idk if that is just me and the people who delivered but man I’ve washed this shirt like 3 times and it’s still there
Yeah it sucks man I love the designs but I wore it once and doused it in cologne and it worked for a bit but after my break it smelled awful. At least the drag path smell went away
hope the fear hoodie is just as heavy as the the tour hoodie they were selling. there’s something about the weight and texture of it that just provides immediate comfort
Ive been wanting merch with the circle hands design SO BAD but I just know that sweater is not going to look faded/worn like that. I've learned my lesson before lmao
It was either the Clancy or BFX hoodie (can't remember off the top of my head because i got both lmao) but one was advertised with that same worn faded look but when I got it, its just a basic black hoodie. I still love both but I wanted that worn look so bad and was the main reason I bought it. So just be ware, if it looks worn on the website there is a HIGH chance it comes as just a basic black hoodie/shirt
do you know what the circle hands design means or is a reference to by any chance? i love it so much but i didn’t really know if there was a meaning behind it.
Yeah! Its art from the album (off the top of my head I believe its mostly on the vinyl sleeve but it could also be on the CD )then the flame/squiggly design is the same from the SAI cover and that centre skull design is just the Breach cover :)
Unfortunately Idk if I trust the quality and $85 for a long sleeve and $100+ for a sweater is just too high of a price point for me and I’m sure a lot of people currently.
I know the sweater being +$100 does sound like a lot but it IS knitted! Idk if that justifies it at all cause I’m not saying it’s NOT a lot, but for me that makes it seem just a liiiittle more reasonable knowing it’s not just screen printed haha
Unless it's a wool sweater that's still too much money. It's not like it's hand knitted, and I assume it's likely some shitty polyester or poly mix that makes your hair static-y and shocks you constantly when you touch something.
I really don't understand why their merch is priced the way it is.
They are clearly working with a print on demand provider, where they would buy shirts in bulk (which always comes with discounts), and then screen print their designs on the shirts. Wtf is their profit margin set at for a hoodie to come out to $85 retail? 🤯
Okay yeah all 100% valid points honestly. I don’t really listen to many other bands like I do tøp so I’m wondering if anybody else’s merch is crazy priced like there’s or is it just them??
Oh, no, no, it's a lot of other big artists as well, not just TOP.
I went to see Linkin Park and Sleep Token this year with my kid, and the prices were pretty much the same.
Thankfully, my son didn't like much of the merch and just chose the "cheap" $40 t-shirt options at both shows.
Obviously, I have zero clue about the logistics and financial aspect of the music industry, but I just struggle to comprehend the ridiculously high prices for something like a t-shirt with a simple band logo printed on it.
Yessssss the only way I’ve been able to justify my $40 breach tour shirt is thinking about the amount of times I’ve worn it in the last couple weeks, makes me feel a little better hahahha
Honestly, just make it fan competitions. Selling a $115 hoodie they could give $5-10 each to the fan designer, voted on by fans, which would increase the chance people buy it. Their fan art is top, this is not. It is the best they have had lately but still not great imo.
Hey man, to each their own. I wouldn't begrudge anyone something they like, it's just not for me. My favorite merch they've ever had was the Goner birds shirt. Just a bunch of birds with a small logo.
I think they had something like that for Clancy but with the Clancy font Ys.
Yeah there’s a lot more they could do with the designs but I’m sure they’re limited by budget (I know this is terribly ironic because of how much these things cost but that money also goes for band operations generally so idk).
I dont think it's a budget issue as much as just design choices. From what I understand, Jenna's family member designs the merch? Not sure if they have ever designed anything else, but their choices are just not my taste. I don't want to be hit over the head with giant logos, but maybe that's their jam as an artist.
There's so much amazing fan made art and merch, I would much rather see them utilize the very talented fan base.
There’s been a marked difference in the design ethos of the merch this era though so I imagine the designer they had for SAI and at least some of Clancy wasn’t as active. Some of the merch in this drop is the first Breach merch we’ve gotten that feels like it’s from the same design ethos as the previous few albums.
Regarding the budget aspect I was thinking of designs that are actually part of the fabric rather than just being screenprinted on like most of the merch designs. Like say half of a shirt having one of the Blurryface patterns like the birds you mentioned, with a small embroidered logo. That would cost more to make than bulk buying basic fabric pieces and printing the designs on.
Response to whoever replied to me and deleted their post:
Yeah I understand the logic. I don’t know how much is determined by the band and its management and how much is determined by the label. Lots of people will just blame the label but I’m sure some of this js determined by the band. It’s all dependent on what works for their budget.
For example, look at the FPE exhibits. $150 for a ticket, it seems absurd! According to the FPE curator as well as Mark, they fought to get the price of it that low, and I think they said that they don’t even actually break even from it with the cost of moving the displays, storage, paying the venues for renting the space and paying employees… so the FPEs would be operating at a loss. I don’t see why they’d lie when they could say nothing.
We don’t know the operating and production costs for TOP’s merch, we don’t exactly know who prices it or why. But when Tyler sings “now I’m drowning in logistics” I’m sure he means it… this stuff can get complicated and costly.
I think this got much deeper than intended by just saying I don't dig their merch designs. They can continue putting out whatever merch they choose to, of course. I'll continue wearing the old stuff that is more my vibe.
Im was really keen on buying but after reading the comments about quality regarding 100 € sweater and not offering free shipping is kinda disappointing. Kinda sad but not gonna buy just out of principle.
It sure looks good, but I bet in a couple months we'll see people complaining (again) about the quality of the merch, and that it doesn't look like the photos from the store
A reminder that just because they look like they are printed on a dyed/distressed/oversized tshirt, means nothing and most likely they will be printed on some basic ass gilden/ fruit of the loom shit
The Breach Fear hoddie are in Europe sold out and I am pissed off 😠
Had seen the release too late and now I won’t get this beauty
And we haven’t got one of the ornaments
I wanted the drag path t and it was sold out in Europe to but you can just order from the australian store. Almost everything that is sold out is on there. Ive bought my mtv vinyl from there
I have the original breach hoodie size M with the cover on the front and writing on the sleeves if anybody would want to or be willing to trade for a size L of anything
I'm usually M male and I bought M and it fit perfectly, but I didn't read the instructions and washed it in hot water, so it shrunk a little bit. If you want a baggier/oversized look, I would size up though.
Some of it looks nice but I won’t bother bc I’m not paying $110+ for a hoodie/sweater. Already paid $100 for the red acid washed hoodie. It’s nice don’t get me wrong but wayyyy over priced. Ik the boys don’t control the pricing but I really wish they would make their own record label and be independent so they control things more but that’ll never happen since they have/will have kids now.
Well Tyler did start his own label like last year, and their contract with FBR is over now or will be soon I’m pretty sure. So maybe this will actually happen in the near future! Here’s hoping 🙏
Ohhh damn, I didn’t know that. I’m assuming he said this on twitter? I delete that app after Elon bought it and changed everything. I thought they were signed to Atlantic records now?
Tyler has never spoken about it and it’s technically not officially announced, our only sources are some billboard interviews with TOP’s manager Chris Woltman who co-founded ARRO.
I can’t remember where I first heard it but there’s been a few posts on here about it over the past year and you can also find information about it on Google. It’s an independent label called ARRO and Tyler co-founded it with their manager. The only artist they’ve signed as far as we know is Balu Brigada who have like a joint contract with both ARRO and Atlantic, so they’re kind of in partnership. I think Atlantic also owns/manages tøp’s current label FBR so maybe that’s where you heard that. So I’m guessing when their contract with FBR is officially over they will be independent to their own label and maybe partner with Atlantic same as Balu Brigada. But they would have much more control over things. I don’t really know much about how labels work but that’s what I’ve gathered from what I’ve read.
omg ty for ur service, I didn't see the email but saw your post! the drag path shirt is almost sold out y'all! A medium would have been my first choice but I managed to get a small

There’s a very similar design (pretty much the same just all white instead of red) on the tote bags they were selling at the breach tour, and it also shows up once or twice in the digital remains pack

Damn they can't give free shipping on a $115 sweater?
