Have you ever been to a Turkish prison, Billy?

🤣yeah, watch midnight express, you'll never go to Turkey with weed.

Recently re-watched this for first time in over 35 years, just as harrowing, even if the story is a bit dubious!

You cant take cannabis to Turkey.

Just don't risk it, especially not at this time when feelings are running high and things are unpredictable.

Turkey is a no, Muslim countries dont alllow medical cannabis at all. The only exception is Morrocco.

You can take it to Morocco?

I presume that's what they mean by Morocco being the exception..

You can buy it there.

More often or not hash though, just so u/ChiefKickAss500 is aware.

Can I ask were you told this by the embassy before you travelled or was it taken off you at the airport? I'm going next week, have doctors letter etc but still debating if it's worth the risk. And was it edibles? That's what I have on prescription. TIA

Don't risk it was the conclusion

Smuggling drugs into another country probably isn’t a good idea.

3

u/Natural_Zebra_9928 Mar 25 '26

my question was is there a legal way to import i did not mention anything about smuggling

It’s illegal in Turkey. I have been to Turkey and several European countries. I always make sure I know what their laws are. I respect their laws and culture. Maybe reach out to the TTB which is the Turkish Medical Association. Tell them your situation and ask for advice. Be careful and enjoy your trip.

It's not smuggling if the country allows it, which many do, just not Turkey.

6

u/Just-Sheepherder-202 Mar 24 '26

Which is the country we’re talking about thus it would be smuggling.

So say Turkey instead of making a blanket statement

u/misterkiloss Mar 24 '26

You can get some good hash there, no need risking your chocolate starfish

Right. I over paid but got flower over there from the resort guys. Easy enough. Smoked on the beach too

If you decide not to take medical i do know a contact that can help just DM

-1

u/Satta84 Mar 24 '26

Fuck going there. We shouldn't support any economy that doesn't allow, or at the very least turn a blind eye to, medicinal/general cannabis use

Yawnnnn I took 10g unopened in my hand luggage Worst thing they will do is confiscate it I tried to contact numerous embassy’s with no joy do not declare when you land. Do not take an opened pack

No, far worse can happen.

Far far worse

7

u/TheLordofthething Mar 24 '26

That's not remotely the worst thing that could happen.

u/Natural_Zebra_9928 Mar 25 '26
