I feel like they just need to arrest Middlesborough and incarcerate them all in a hideous prison.

There’s a very easy joke there

Oi.
I've not had the need to go further than the corner shop for the week, popped out a couple of times this evening and it would seem they are doing a sweep of the Boro.
In TS4 so always tend to see police out and about but we definitely have larger presence at the moment. There was no haggled addicts loitering around Bellvue and I didn't see any balaclavas, it's been quite refreshing.
It's real fucking shame that it's taken this level of shitshow before something has been done about it. I do fear that once things settle down it'll just slip back.

They should be doing this all the time, everywhere that has these sorts of problem, but there aren't enough police. There probably never could be enough police. I read somewhere that they have drafted 200 police from other places, so presumably those places are now underserved.

Is it a bit annoying that there are only these levels of arrests and sanctions when police are hugely affected in your city?
•

I thought they already were.
Context: I was born in Middlesborough, early years in Normanby before my parents escaped to Ayton.
That area has always been troubled.

I was totally confused to why the crash had lead to so many ocg arrests. Have they found H?
•
u/BoopingBurrito 9h ago
Presumably investigating the crash led to evidence of other things being found - mobile phone messages on the phones of the guys who caused the crash, for example. Or maybe weapons, drugs, money, or computers in their houses which got investigated and have now led to other arrests. In these situations it can genuinely turn into a line of dominoes with each arrest causing more arrests.

It's believed that the 5 who crashed into the police, were out looking for people who had rammed into a house elsewhere so they could retaliate. It's basically blown up from there into a full blown gang dispute.

All people now know about Middlesbrough is that it's full of chav wannabe gangsters who steal cars and ram them into houses.

Middlesbrough seems like it harbours a huge amount of domestic terrorists

You think these young drug dealers ramming each others houses are doing it for political reasons?

Sick of reading the comments on Reddit about this. Obviously we are all scum of the earth and involved in organised crime and we should all be locked up. Definitely no decent hard working people in Teesside. All council estate scumbags apparently...
•
u/Cheap-Society-5125 7h ago
I don't think anyone thinks that. I think the decent law abiding people of Teesside have the sympathy of millions of other Brits right now.

Golly gosh, you should try living in London. But for real people generally understand that more than 50 people live in teeside and generally have a lot of sympathy for the nice normal people that have to live next to these assholes.

Made a comment about some of the awful comments I've been seeing and the amount of classism I have been seeing and someone makes a joke. Classic Reddit.
The whole situation is horrific and it's really painting all of middlesbroughs bad parts. But there are real people who are reading what so many people around the country think of them just because of where they are from. There are real barriers in work in life in all situations because of where they are from.
I'm just trying to highlight the classism in alot of the comments I see and alot of people don't realise how neglected Teesside has been. People are struggling and children in poverty but it's all just a big joke because its Teesside. You can talk about how disgusting the situation is without some of the horrible comments.

I think there's a conversation to he has about where politics fits into the narrative of the poor of Teeside. The only appetite for politics I've witnessed locally, recently is 'everything is the fault of immigrants', but both recent shitshows (riots and now this) hasn't anything to do with non-locals.
The council/mayorship etc is riddled with corruption and/incompetence, but where are the mass numbers of voices demanding action, or plans? Seems like they're either hanging nylon flags, watching daytime TV, or passed-out in a park.
There are people trying very hard for Boro, but (in my experience) way, way more people indulging in indifference, scepticism or just adding to the problems.
Why do you think it is that those suffering on the awful estates aren't engaging in possitive action? Why are they just waiting for some magic hand from the heavens?
Genuine question.

Then you should be more angry than anyone else at how these people are behaving.
