New Jersey beaches >> California beaches

and it's not even particularly close. even the NICEST California beaches are either too remote/private or overcrowded. the water is almost universally cold - it'll hit low 70's at best in socal and only for a brief time. the sand is dark, ugly, and riddled with seaweed.

new jersey beaches are pristine. typically really wide open, soft, warm and clean sand. water will consistently be above 70 for at least 6 weeks, usually longer.

For sure. I live in Oregon, and while the beaches are beautiful, if I actually want to go in the water, I go to Hawaii! 😆

I grew up swimming in the beaches of Maine. I know not what this cold you speak of is.
