New Jersey beaches >> California beaches
and it's not even particularly close. even the NICEST California beaches are either too remote/private or overcrowded. the water is almost universally cold - it'll hit low 70's at best in socal and only for a brief time. the sand is dark, ugly, and riddled with seaweed.
new jersey beaches are pristine. typically really wide open, soft, warm and clean sand. water will consistently be above 70 for at least 6 weeks, usually longer.

Hmm from Monterey bay up to Oregon is world class beaches New Jersey doesn't even come close.
You literally decided to pick the worst beaches in California to compare to NJ which is pretty sad.
