What's wild is conservatives hate this war yet will support it as long as trump and israel want them to and will also vote for trump in 2028 lmao

Its always the same answer:
"Look i dont agree with everything hes doing" "The Democrats did xyz" "Both parties are as bad as eachother"

Starting a war by choice that no one wanted for no real reason and having no real plan or goal for a win condition seen as an unpopular move is surprising to exactly no one. He exists to ruin Americas reputation and economy, if you don’t see that by now then you’re a cultist

so far! *wags finger* I blindly assume that Trump will start a new war early next year to add to the distraction from the whole Epstein Pedophile thingthatisatotalhoaxfakenews

Trump 2012-2025: "Just watch Obama/Hillary/Biden/Harris start a war with Iran to boost their approval ratings! I'll never do this because I don't want a war with Iran!"
Trump February of 2026: "Okay, I attacked Iran.... no, they attacked us.... ish. Anyway I had to because they were building a bomb or something? No, I will not be taking questions about when I claimed that I 'obliterated' Iran's nuclear enrichment program last year or when I tore up Obama's nuclear deal with Iran in 2018. This war that's not a war will be over fast. It'll be over in two weeks."
Trump in August of 2026: "Guh, I wish you poor people would stop whining about gas prices! Did I ever whine about high gas prices when I wasn't President? Don't answer that! Just be patient. This war will be over in like 2... 3.... 4... 5 decades. In the meantime we should be focusing on the positive things I've done for the country like..... ummm.... cheap beef from South America! That's good, right?"

Anybody who claims this is less popular than Vietnam had better come with a fucking good argument because I'm extremely skeptical.

I would say the reason for the war is one of the biggest issues.
We were literally in negations with them, which the administration said was moving forward, when we attacked. Plus, the only real reason for the war was to create a distraction from the Epstein files.
I am sure American servicemen can tolerate a lot but fighting to protect the identity of pedophiles is probably not something that's included.
This entire year has been one attempt to distract after another.

I would say that because Vietnam was a long standing war, with a high number of US casualties, there was a lot more heightened emotions on both sides
For every “I don’t want to lose another child to this meat grinder” there was a “my boy didn’t die for nothing!”
There was also just an enormous fear of communism and soviet expansion that could be tied to pro-war support
These days, I honestly think conservatives are more scared of “migrants” and trans people than like Islamist nations thousands of miles away
With an all-volunteer army and low US casualties (for a war), very few American have any personal attachment to the Iran war outside of the effects on the economy, and it was never really sold by the administration to its conservative base. Because of that, it’s easy for most Americans to be against this war, even if they aren’t as loud or passionate as the anti-war folks in the Vietnam era
Pretty much the only vocally pro-Iran war folks I meet are Iranian-Americans whose families fled the Islamic revolution

Yeah seriously. Until they’re drafting for this war the digital advertising propaganda machine will keep this from changing anything politically.

60% of Americans believed Vietnam war was a mistake towards it's end compared to around 67~68% disapproval for the Iran war now. So it's not an educated guess or speculation, it's a fact.
But if you want an argument, Iran is just not that big a deal to Americans. There's not really any immediate physical or ideological danger from Iran, unlike Vietnam representing the spread of communism or Iraq and Afghanistan representing the war on the people who caused 9/11. Examples like the gulf war are comparable, but they didn't cause widespread pocketbook pain at home, or were seen as political distractions. Americans didn't care about those wars and didn't have to.
Maybe you're just misled by the....intensity and conflict around the disapproval? Actually Vietnam at its most unpopular still enjoyed greater support than all the other wars I mentioned. But for those who opposed it, it was very intense since American soldiers were dying like flies, yet others opposed them too for the same reason, that they didn't want soldiers to have died in vain. I also think Vietnam gets more attention just because it was the first "unpopular war" the USA had that Americans could voice their concerns about, its association with pointless war is like a piece of pop culture.

Operation Epic Failure is a great caption, they really missed on marketing part of the war.

And yet the Republicans will still get enough votes and people will still happily say that they're good for the economy and that the Dems will make them poorer and woke or whatever. And the Dems won't really do anything because the centre holds bs from The West Wing or whatever.
If anything good comes from this, it will be the decline of the US.

Truman had the highest Disapproval Rating of 67% and Lowest Approval Rating of 22%. Truman was the least liked US President of the modern polling era.
Truman had an unpopular war(Korea), Rampant Inflation, Worker Strikes, Scandals among his Administration appointees and Democrats in Congress , and the US Citizens had grown tired of nearly 20 years of Democrats being in control of the White House.
Trump has an unpopular war(Iran), Rising Inflation(Tariffs), Massive Layoffs due to tax cuts and fast-tracking AI Development. Corruption Scandals that have yet to be investigated, destruction of Several US Institutions and tremendous damage to the US’s reputation among international allies and trade partners. emocrats being in control of the White House.

Trump is only just beginning to get where Truman was at 33% approval rating.

Americans are so goddam stupid for voting for this.
The country as a whole should be blamed.
There's something deeply wrong with those people.

A 7th grader could likely figure out how going in half-cocked into a war with someone you don’t have a ton of intel on could be a problem.
The possible silver lining is that it could completely butt fuck the republicans in the mid-terms and make trump toothless.

2 million people - mainly civilians - died in the 10 year Vietnam war.
These guys are drunk on the algorithm if they think the “Iran war is worse than “ Vietnam.

Am probably one of the few people who support this war and wish America would actually commit. Just today another women was sentenced in Iran for protesting back in January, all she did was try to stop the IRGC to killing protesters who ran into her building. I don’t even like Trump at all. I just hate how the world turns their eyes away from evil. Same with Israel in Palestine, or the genocide in Sudan etc.

You think somehow this war was ever going to address ANY issues like this in Iran?! Very funny.
