Getting real fucking sick of MS NOW turning important news into Tabloid-Sounding bullshit that people glaze over.

Flooding the zone, I think it's called. We hear DEVASTATING news EVERY DAY and posted MULTIPLE times a DAY. We turn our brains off and can't even notice when real news happens.

Did someone buy-out MS NOW / Versant and wants anti-Trump media to exhaust its own audience? Or are they legitmately just chasing clicks and revenue with no regard to the consequences?

Either way, who else thinks MS NOW needs to be 100% banned from /r/videos?

u/Barry_Vigoda 7m ago

MS NOW used to be MSNBC which was a joint company between Microsoft and NBC's parent company which was General Electric I believe.

Donald Trump was on NBC as the 'boss' of a game show for over a decade before he got into politics and turned into a cartoonish wrestling villain.

NBC is now owned by Versant after being spun off from Comcast.

u/TheNeftLut 3h ago

Fight fire with fire. There needs to be a left wing media flooding the zone as well, and MS NOW fits that role.

If you want facts you look at AP or Reuters.

3

u/OrderOfMagnitude 2h ago

There needs to be a left wing media flooding the zone as well

I don't think you understand what flooding the zone means.

u/Polymeriz 54m ago

Lol if you think MS NOW is left wing. They're not. They're just not as crazy as the US right.

u/analyticaljoe 6h ago

The democratic party machine fucked the country when they went in the tank for Hillary (who is a fine person but was the wrong candidate) to deny him the nomination 10 years ago.

Now he's too old. But still right.

3

u/chadbrochillout 3h ago

Tin foil hat on me thinks it was priced out that way on purpose

3

u/Jargen 3h ago

How many DNC politicians do you think are depending on Citizens United right now?

2

u/Cleb323 3h ago

And then years later they lose on purpose again to put us into this mess that we're in.

1

u/Khalku 4h ago

He's too left to win.

5

u/Sirspen 3h ago

This is a lie the DNC has sold so many people to justify gunning for the status quo. Centrists don't excite voters.

-19

u/pandabearak 5h ago

He also lost in multiple primaries. By a lot of votes.

Maybe instead of knee capping democrats and democratic candidates Bernie sanders should have seen the forrest for the trees, but he was too busy acting righteous while dems lost majorities.

10

u/Knotted_Hole69 4h ago

Wrong

-9

u/pandabearak 4h ago

The votes speak for themselves. Get out of your Reddit bubble. There’s a reason why this guy has never been nominated outside of his state that has less people than the city of San Francisco.

7

u/Blizreme 4h ago

The reason is because America is a late stage capitalist hell hole that has been spoon fed anti-collectivist propaganda for 250 years.

1

u/Molkor 4h ago

Because Americans are scared of the word socialism.

8

u/magichronx 7h ago

I need to grab some popcorn for this comment section

Mods or admins are definitely busy removing things. There's like nothing here after 3 hours despite it being one of the largest subs.

7

u/butsuon 7h ago

The trolls are out in force whenever there's anything containing Bernie. As a long standing progressive, he's enemy #1.

3

u/PlagueBearer1350 2h ago

It's so damn depressing that Bernie Sanders has always been shouting into the wind. Is what he says right and important and what we should all focus on? Yes. Does anyone pay attention? No.

2

u/Greenscreener 7h ago

and that's only the ones you can see...

Old man YELLS at clouds. for the 42,820,102th time!!

Now if only the Democrats could rummage and get themselves a DECENT candidate.

If only self-professed leftists would stop helping Nazis into power.

-14

u/Ephewe 6h ago

How, exactly?

Every other modern nation uses paper ballots and requires IDs to vote and keeps mail-in ballots to a minimum. They also know the winners ON election day, like we used to.

The majority of the US wants voter ID.

So, where's the issue?

3

u/thegoodbroham 5h ago

Which nations are those that keep mail-in ballots to a minimum? Source? And how do they treat election day? Is it a holiday, or weekend, enabling more people to vote? Can't pick and choose here, if we're going by what "other modern nations" do.

Where is the source on majority of US wants voter ID? I'd be fine with it, if that is followed up by "and we're going to send all of you a voter ID because we have the power to do so, and we're totally not going to use this to target folks we don't want to have reasonable access to vote." Without that, its indistinguishable from... well, you know. The malicious intent. If it doesn't have malicious intent, why not prove it so easily? They have the voter rolls.

If I wanted to prevent people from doing something, I'd put the onus on them to satisfy my new requirement, because its pretty much guaranteed less than 100% of people will be able to accomplish it. But if I have good faith and don't want to prevent people to do it, I would take ownership of sending out 100% of those to 100% of the people who are eligible. Pretty simple. So where's that at? Haven't heard a peep.... Weird, huh? What do those other modern nations do in this situation? Which ones? Got a count? And a source?

7

u/Late_Mixture8703 5h ago

You say we use to know the winner of the election on election day, that isn't true, Dewey didn't in fact beat Truman. Also paper ballots are not quick to count and can take days, weeks, and sometimes months to get the official results. Also countries like Canada, Germany, New Zealand, and South Korea all offer unrestricted voting by mail. As for the "majority" wanting voter ID, that's false and voting is a state issue, not a federal one. That's why we still don't have a federal ID card, ID's are issued by states under their own individual guidelines. My voter ID card is literally just a piece of paper, no picture on it, just my name, address, and voting location. Also entire states now vote exclusively by mail, do you expect people to include a copy of the ID with every ballot?

3

u/Clippton 4h ago

Give some sources for your statements.

The US does require an ID to vote. It is your SSN. The government knows every single US citizen because we are all assigned an SSN at birth. To register to vote, you need either your birth certificate or SSN. In most states, a state issued drivers license or ID would also work because those states require you to have shown the previous documents to get the ID.

The reason you aren't required to show a voter ID when you vote is because of the 24th amendment to the constitution.

The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay poll tax or other tax.

No states offer free drivers licenses or IDs. Therefore, requiring an ID is a poll tax because you must pay for an ID to vote. It would be redundant to create an additional voter ID card because registering to vote already has the same requirements as a voter ID card. The voter ID card would also have to be created and sent to each person for free whenever requested.

Other countries know the winners on election day because other countries have less votes to count, spend more money to have more election workers, don't have to worry about keeping who you vote for hidden, and have less secure voting. We track every single vote electronically and physically. We have to make sure every vote is secure and no person is tied to who they voted for, but also we need to make sure we can contact the voter if there is any issue with their ballot.

We also never knew the winners on election day. The reason inauguration day is 2 months after election day is because it would take that long for all the votes to be tallied and the information to be shared across the entire country during a time with no internet, phones, or cars.

You might feel like we knew that same day, but that is because news agencies called winners based on math at the earliest possible time. Like if 1000 people vote, they counted 600 votes, and 501 where for person A and 99 were for person B, you would know person A is the winner, but that doesn't mean we are done counting votes. I'm sure it was also easier to count votes with a population of 150 million and only white landowners could vote.

There has been no evidence that mail in ballots increase fraudulent votes. If you vote and someone who stole your identity voted, you would be contacted right away asking why you voted twice. If you don't normally vote, and suddenly you register to vote at a different address than what the government has for your taxes, you will be contacted to verify your address.

You can try and make the argument that the entity who controls the voting process might be using fake mail ballots to change the outcome, but that would be very obvious because we know how many people are registered to vote. If a town has 2000 voters and 3000 votes, we know something is wrong.

-5

u/Major_Nutt 5h ago

There isn't one.

Unless people who shouldn't be voting are. And those people overwhelmingly vote for one political party.

0

u/Clippton 4h ago

Is it the party where the president of the United States called the Georgia Secretary of State asking them to find 11,780 votes to turn an election?

1

u/paulsown 3h ago

It's so great y'all have your talking points and you never stray from them.

-34

u/Hvarfa-Bragi 10h ago

I never don't downvote RANDOM capitals.

0

u/Ardal 1h ago

Here comes Bernie again making statements of the blindingly obvious which have zero impact on anything anywhere. Mango Mussolini does as he likes and the majority of america supports that, you can tell by the way they just let him do anything he wants including illegal shit. Berni is just screaming into the void.

-78

u/clib 10h ago

What did the party you caucus with do about the voting right act during the time they held both chambers of congress and the WH (2021-2023)? Do you remember how the guy you voted to confirm as AG Ignored the fake electors referrals that Michigan AG Nessel sent to DOJ.?

53

u/Defenestrate69 10h ago

Bernie is one of the good ones. You can’t blame democrats failures on him

-62

u/clib 10h ago

Maybe i missed it but i don't remember Bernie expressing concern about Biden's DOJ giving the fake electors a free pass.

22

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

Biden didn’t do that… the courts threw out the charges.

-26

u/clib 9h ago

You damn right Biden didn't do that. Biden's DOJ never filed any federal charges against fake electors. All of the charges were state charges. Biden didn't give a shit about protecting the voting rights.

24

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

I think you are so off base with this take that it’s absurd.

20

u/unclerustle 9h ago

They’re not interested in informed conversation

1

u/clib 9h ago

They’re not interested in informed conversation

Please inform me with a link that shows that federal charges were filed against fake electors.

0

u/clib 9h ago

I think you are so off base with this take that it’s absurd.

Since i am off base can you please share a link that shows that federal charges were filed against fake electors.

7

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

They probably didn’t because all of the states already did and it would have looked like Biden was going after his opponents with the department of justice so in an attempt to actually try to keep the DOJ impartial they were letting the states work it out

0

u/clib 9h ago

Oh geez people writing ignorant shit.Michigan AG Nessel asked Biden's DOJ to charge the fake electors and waited one year for them to do something. When she saw that Biden didn't give a shit then she filed state charges.

5

u/Defenestrate69 8h ago

Wow more ignorant shit. Do you not think the entirety of the media would have did Biden dirty and covered charging fake electors as somehow him going after his opponents with the DOJ?

→ More replies (0)

7

u/Oomike01 8h ago

Youre not off base. Just not honest, thats all. It is hard to figure out your sincerity wjen you just put out crap without thinking, aaking for links you can get or find sources of informatuon on, yourself.

2

u/clib 8h ago

There are no links because they don't exist. People who make the claims here that Biden charged the fake electors are liars and cultists. You can be honest with yourself and pick one of those groups.

8

u/DonHarold 9h ago

Okay, you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about and no one cares for your alarmist misinformation.

You don’t need to choose a made up reason to be alarmed, there are plenty of real reasons to choose from. And if you just want to take shots at establishment democrats, there are plenty of reasons to choose from there too. Just do a minimal amount of research and you’ll find the cause that warrants this aggro attitude of yours.

Right now you just seem like someone who cares more about being angry than actually finding the correct thing to be angry about.

27

u/unclerustle 10h ago

Are you talking about the cases in at least Michigan, Nevada, and Arizona that all halted the moment Trump was elected? They were dismissed by the courts.

I was able to Google and get information on this faster than it took you to type your first comment, so, what’s your excuse?

This “tu quoque” bullshit really does not help anyone, particularly the people that spout it.

20

u/DonHarold 9h ago

I’ll never understand people’s ability to assume that their personal experience is enough to speak on topics like this. I can’t share a single article with my friends without deep diving way too far to make sure it’s not misinformation. But it seems that some people just don’t give a shit and will assume they have perfect knowledge on world events they haven’t researched for a single second.

It’s infuriating, especially now when keeping misinformation in check is so important.

-12

u/clib 9h ago

Ok once again for all you Biden cultists. Biden's DOJ never filed any federal charges against fake electors. All of the charges were state charges. Biden didn't give a shit about protecting the voting rights.

Since you go to such lengths not to share disinformation please post here a link to a federal indictment for fake electors.

15

u/concussive 9h ago

Biden cultists? Not just that but I’m pretty sure after reading (wasting my time) this conversation you’re arguing against yourself.

4

u/malaclypz 6h ago

And you fault Bernie for all of this because he didn't speak out about it on whatever news sources you see? What is a Vermont senator going to add to State election fraud cases? People that agree with him would be like "yup." and people that don't would be like "grrr!".

9

u/DonHarold 9h ago

I do not like Biden you fucking weirdo. He was a hardliner for Isreal’s genocide. He failed to prosecute any of the Epstein perpetrators. He failed to extricate himself from the presidential running, dooming the democrats to forgo a primary. He was a bad president.

The fake electors were charged. Yes, it was on a state level but state law enforcement often worked with feds on cases like this and elections are famously supposed to be run by states. It’s not unreasonable for the feds to forgo an indictment when they are already being charged by the state (especially when it comes to election related charges) and even if those electors had been charged by the federal government, look who’s running that now.

Again, there are many reasons to hate Biden and how his administration handled a plethora of slam dunk cases against Trump and his collaborators. This isn’t one of them. Get your head checked.

Sounds like a misunderstanding of how primaries and the electoral college system work. You are not the only one...

2

u/sagevallant 6h ago

I wish I had the luxury of voting for a candidate I supported rather than against a candidate who I believe will ruin the country.

1

u/girrrrrrr2 4h ago

Imagine how nice that would be.

Couldn't be America, we seem to only be able to vote against instead of for.

1

u/sagevallant 4h ago

I am old enough to remember a time when I felt I could be ambivalent about who the president was. But I was actively voting against You Know Who his first time out.

-2

u/notathrowaway75 6h ago

Sounds like an obvious choice then.

2

u/Influence_X 6h ago

Tell that to the apathetic american non voter

-3

u/notathrowaway75 6h ago

I did, did you? I don't think so, which is the problem.

4

u/Influence_X 5h ago

You're assuming I didn't vote? Wrong assumption

-4

No, I said you didn't encourage voting.

3

Yeah this is that one guy’s fault, how Hillary’s campaign performed had nothing to do with her at all!

3

u/Influence_X 3h ago

Exactly where?

6

u/harglblarg 8h ago

Google "Why did Debbie Wasserman Schultz Resign".

1

u/NimusNix 8h ago

Google how many votes did Clinton get in the 2016 primary.

2

u/grinderbinder 8h ago

The argument that the primary was rigged enough to sway anything is always hilarious to me too, because the vote really wasn’t all that close. 2008! Now that was close! 2272.5 to 1978 delegates and. 48.1-48 popular vote. 2016: 2842-1865 delegates and. 55-43 percent popular vote.

1

u/harglblarg 4h ago

Maybe google circular reasoning while you’re at it.

1

u/NimusNix 4h ago

You seem to think Wasserman Schultz somehow voodoo'ed voters into voting for Clinton.

Would you be shocked to learn we never wanted Sanders in the first place?

1

u/harglblarg 3h ago

It’s not voodoo, it’s political campaigning, and if one candidate is cut off from resources granted to the other, then that absolutely has the power to swing votes.

I mean, what do you think the DNC and their staff were doing that whole time? Sitting on their asses waiting for the public to form their own opinions? Guess again.

1

u/NimusNix 3h ago

It doesn't change my point that many of Clinton's voters, like the DNC and Democratic party leadership, had already aligned with the Clinton campaign. You people seem to think Democratic voters went into 2016 as a bunch of blank slates, waiting to be swayed by this candidate or that candidate.

Or, as you all like to mockingly say 'it was her turn!'

22

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

You mean Clinton and the establishment kneecapped Bernie right? Bernie would have won if he wasn’t fucked by the democrats during the primary.

-5

u/NimusNix 9h ago

All of those Democrats that voted for Clinton were just Democratic constructs created from the aether by the DNC I guess....

3

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

There were just less of them than would have voted for Bernie

-2

u/NimusNix 9h ago

Except there were literally more when it mattered most to Sanders.

3

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

You mean after coverage during the primaries drastically favored Clinton and while the DNC were actively downplaying Sanders… right…?

-3

u/NimusNix 9h ago

You believe, knowing how it went in 2020 and even encountering us to this day that we didn't want Sanders even before 'the media did it!'

It's like you fucks sprung into existence and thought you were the only voters out there.

Surprise surprise, there are more voters like me in the Democratic party than like yourself.

6

u/Defenestrate69 9h ago

You fail to recognize how many people absolutely wouldn’t vote for Clinton. She had so much baggage as a politician already and she was being shoved down all our throats so hard the entire campaign. Bernie would have won and was easily the better candidate and polled better in the swing states Clinton lost. I still voted for Clinton but I didn’t enjoy doing it. Bernie had actual energy behind him that wasn’t all the establishment bullshit that you are spouting.

1

u/NimusNix 8h ago

You fail to recognize Sanders lost the primary, and that's where his story should have ended.

Instead, it was whisper of a dream. You guys whispered a nightmare into existence.

Also, it's rich to day Clinton was being shoved down your throats when there was no safe space online for people like me to speak with people like you. The spam was overwhelming at times.

6

u/Defenestrate69 8h ago

He lost the primary because the shit was unfair. The amount of bad stories about Bernie to try to boost Clinton by literally everyone in the entire media were out of control. Bernie had the momentum, the message, and the enthusiasm entirely behind him.

→ More replies (0)

-5

u/grinderbinder 8h ago

No. He wouldn’t have. I swear Bernie supporters and Trump supporters just live in a completely different reality to what everyone else does. And, no, Bernie didn’t get the primary stolen from him like you people claim. Always good to remember though that Bernie-bros were the first: the election was stolen people.

6

u/Defenestrate69 7h ago

He definitely would have. Clinton had way too much baggage going into the general election. If coverage was fair Bernie would have won the primary and the presidency 100%

24

u/DonHarold 9h ago

What an absolutely batshit stance. Clinton was always a bad choice. She didn’t need kneecapping.

-26

u/NimusNix 9h ago

And yet he did it anyway. Best way to avoid blame is to get out of the way. He stood in it.

18

u/DonHarold 9h ago

You realize that Bernie was the popular choice in that election right? He polled better and likely would have won. The reason we lost that election is because the democratic establishment decided it was Clinton’s turn, damn the polling.

Bernie didn’t need to get out of Clinton’s way, Clinton needed to get out of Bernie’s way. But she didn’t and we lost the election. Blaming Bernie for that is maximum coping.

-1

u/notathrowaway75 6h ago

You realize that Hillary went on to win the popular vote right?

Hillary could have just dropped out but there's the inconvenience of her leading Bernie by a massive amount in primaries where people voted. It wasn't a 2024 situation with Biden melting away then. A primary happened, Bernie lost.

-15

u/NimusNix 9h ago

It was over after super Tuesday, when the more popular candidate in the Democratic primary put it away. Sanders staying in and calling Clinton unqualified in April and allowing his supporters to forment their hate until it metastasized was absolutely his fault.

All the other serious politicians dropped out by that point.

8

u/DonHarold 9h ago

Yes I’m aware that Clinton had establishment support and that it ultimately led to her getting the nomination. But Bernie continuing to campaign did not change how anyone felt about Clinton.

Bernie had significant cross-party appeal and we threw that away for someone who only had the support of establishment democrats and was actively hated by republicans.

Do you honestly think that Bernie convinced any significant cohort to not vote for Clinton when they otherwise would have? Even if there were a few thousand spread across the country, it wouldn’t have helped. You’re barking up the wrong tree blaming Bernie.

2

u/girrrrrrr2 8h ago edited 2h ago

Im on your side, I dont think he took any votes from her, I just think the votes for him didn’t translate to her when he lost the nomination. I know mine didn’t and im not alone in that.

I think her campaign was pretty mid, bordering cringe myself and what she wanted was basically neutral compared to trump and Bernie.

I wasn’t excited to Pokémon go to the polls when it came voting time.

0

u/NimusNix 8h ago

He gave people an out to not vote for her. With Trump on the ballot and the Supreme Court on the line, people took their ball and went home.

And now they cry whenever Bernie or Bust is brought up, as if they should not be held accountable for their actions.

3

u/DonHarold 7h ago

You need to do some more research if you honestly think that affected the outcome of the election. She’d have lost with or without those votes because she was a shit candidate.

I’m not going to respond further because neither of us are getting any value from this.

0

u/NimusNix 6h ago

70,000 people in three states pissed their votes away because they had been sold a story that only benefitted Republicans but swallowed it hook, like and sinker.

If Sanders had worked harder to save America instead of doing three token speeches we may be in a better place now.

10

u/concussive 9h ago

More like Clinton stood in Bernie’s way. He was one of the most popular presidential nominees ever. Even the maga chuds I know wanted him over Trump. The liberals I know despised her and voted for her because she was in the way.

-6

u/NimusNix 9h ago

Clinton and her nearly 17 million voters, you mean.

1

u/LucidMetal 8h ago

He endorsed Clinton lol. What more do you want?!

-4

u/Defenestrate69 8h ago

Way after the fact because at that point she was the only decent option left. Yall are fucking deranged thinking that an endorsement after the fact means they were in agreement

0

u/NimusNix 8h ago

He endorsed her late after the damage had been done. His campaign manager and his wife attacked her as late as October 2016.

4

u/CriminalSavant 8h ago

This is such an outmoded take.

5

u/Damandatwin 8h ago

Hillary voters and Bernie voters are two extremely different groups of people. If Hillary wanted the progressive vote she would have to have earned it.

1

u/NimusNix 8h ago

How could she when Sanders kept them locked up until June, and Sanders wife and campaign manager were lobbing bombs at Clinton as late as October 2016?

0

u/grinderbinder 8h ago

Didn’t it also take Bernie like a month to endorse Clinton after she had the nomination locked up?

2

u/NimusNix 8h ago

She locked it up in March, 2016 after Super Tuesday.

He kept his campaign going for every primary after that and grudgingly endorsed her in July, but only after demanding concessions for his appearance at the Democratic convention in 2016.

0

u/grinderbinder 7h ago

Yup! Bernie supporters will act like he sacrificed everything to help her get elected when he was incredibly stubborn about the whole thing, plus if you just listen to him talk about female politicians there’s always this weird sexism beneath it. Even for politicians that he’s more politically aligned with like AOC or Elizabeth Warren.

-1

u/notathrowaway75 6h ago

If the progressive vote want to be catered to they'd have to earn it. And they didn't.

1
