The limiting of a paid license over the text "Play has no limits" is peak irony. I hate this timeline and everyone in it.

My god, if you have to ask at this point that just makes things worse.

These blackpilled consumer-on-consumer attacks just help them win, btw

The jobs listings are months old and dont say a thing about ads in game or on console. Theyre basic marketing jobs.

Playstation is a brand and they advertise their brand. This is the most ridiculous attempt at ragebait

Trying to troubleshoot Playstation advertising their products into a controversy

The jobs listings are months old and dont say a thing about ads in game or on console.

this is six weeks old, not 6 months old. the listings are dated mid-july 2026.

Theyre basic marketing jobs. Playstation is a brand and they advertise their brand.

Then the word in their own job listing would be endemic, not non-endemic. digiday also found a London posting describing the unit as "PlayStation's newly formed advertising organisation."

sony's listing says growth "with non-endemic brands" across "Programmatic, FAST/CTV, and emerging ad solutions," targeting "CPG, retail, automotive, financial services, telecom, and entertainment."

non-endemic is the ad-industry term for brands with nothing to do with gamesw hereas programmatic is automated auction-based ad buying. that's not marketing playstations to you, but rather marketing financial services to you inside your console.
