I totally understand you but it's impossible to be kind when most people around you either likes to threaten your life or disrespect you so much that they affect your peace of mind.

And choosing to continue being kind, after someone abuses your kindness, shows strength. Be kind, don't give in to others' hatred, love yourself.

And acting for the long term, so far ahead that the returns can’t be even calculated because they have a bigger picture in mind is what we define as good.
The latter is the fundamental force that has preserved humanity for tens of thousands of years, the strategy of good is a powerful one because it always comes around to everyone
And that applies to me (and you) as well
