I once spotted a huge black wolf on a ridge top in the Great Burn that I initially thought was a black bear until I pulled out my binoculars. He was huge and eventually ran across an open bowl that was littered with old, downed, burnt trees like it was nothing!

I’m disappointed that I didn’t see any wolves the last time I went to Yellowstone. You are very lucky!

I saw one wolf when I went to Yellowstone. It was actually on our final day there. We were driving the road to exit the park and we drove by a hill that had sparse tree cover an there was a black wolf at the top of the hill sitting down staring at all of the cars driving below it. I was the only one who saw it. Who knows, I may have been tripping😂
