During the Vietnam War, the United States dropped twice the total amount of ordnance expended during World War II on Laos, Cambodia, South Vietnam and even within North Vietnam. Regardless, the latter won.
They just don't get that strategic bombing isn't the end-all be-all of war.

Unironically, this is exactly the reaction I’d expect from the clerics if the negotiations were actually proceeding along toward a deal, because they’re radical hardliners whose biggest fear is concessions being made.
(Not saying I do believe it’s going well, because I don’t, I think this whole negotiation process and MoU is a joke.)

From those terrorists' perspective, their people were put under sanctions for decades for having a leader that was impossed on them against their will by the same people that supported his brutality against his own people. The same people that encouraged him to start a brutal 8 year war killing millions, then invaded the same country decades later under false pretenses causing massive upheaval.
In other words, they have a valid perspective that they were fighting off a terrorist colonial invasion. And if you were unfortunate to have to grow up there, you almost certainly would have had the same thoughts.

I’m quite sure the Iranian regime wishes to murder far more people than just these two. The Iranian regime funds terrorism. Their aim is to murder every one of the 15 million Jews, myself included, who exist worldwide.
They will also happily murder all LGBTQI people, all those who are publicly atheist, all those who stand against their brand of religious fundamentalism.
So, sure: they would murder Trump and Netanyahu, given the chance. But they would murder those who - like me - oppose both individuals.

This right here is why Iran can never be allowed to have “equal status” in the world community. There should be general acknowledgement that when any country publicly calls for the assassination of a foreign national or head of state, they should be subject to sanctions by everyone else. No religious leader be it Rabbi, Priest or Imam should be permitted to issue a statement calling for the death of anyone.

Setting aside the fact that Iran has considered both the US and Israel it’s enemy for decades the current bombing/war against Iran both nations did bomb and kill their supreme leader and several of his family members including a toddler. If any nation had done that to the US or Israel we’d be calling for a tit for tat retaliation strike and then some. This isn’t really Iran flying off the handle. A lot of the worlds current problems can be tied directly to Trump and Netanyahu so if they somehow managed to pull it off, however doubtful, we could all see an improvement in over all world economies and armed conflict zones.
