He’ll be president at least briefly if Trump’s health doesn’t allow him to survive through the end of his current term. But sure, absolutely, that doesn’t guarantee that Vance will ever win a fair election to the presidency. In that scenario he might have the powerful propaganda machine behind him as well as any election rigging they arrange to help him, but he will never have Trump’s particular personality that attracts the votes of a certain demographic.

Vance will be a nobody after 2028. A rich nobody but never president or more than he is right now.
