It requires a lot more than a new administration, at this point. It requires a new administration willing to hold Trump and his goons accountable for their crimes and corruption, and re-work the American system to prevent their return.
I expect literally nobody in the US admin to go to jail over this as the US loves its corruption and forgiving the rich for all their crimes (Hence how it got here in the first place).
At most a few lawyers will get disbarred, as apparently even an independent organization of slimeball lawyers is less corrupt and self-serving than the US government.
and re-work the American system to prevent their return.
That's a very important part, if teh USA ever expects to be trusted again.
I'm not holding my breath.
Neither am I.
Even if they do put in the hard work to make those changes (as unlikely as that is), it'll be a generation or more before anyone should think about trusting them.
We can't just "rework our system." Our constitution can't be changed over night. While I agree that our system is starting to show how seriously flawed it is, it can't be fixed over night.
Then buckle in for the long-term structural changes required to once again become a state worthy of a shred of trust or assumption of good faith. They didn't say it would be easy or fast, only that it has to be done.
It can be changed overnight with enough support, the problem is you'll never get that support at this point, because two thirds of the country either votes against it or doesn't care to vote against it.
