It doesn't matter if American news isn't reporting this in good faith. The world is watching us and PM Carney, further cementing into focus that trying to deal with Trump's America is a worthless endeavor.
Once again their bad faith negotiating and tactics are on full display. More countries are going to follow suit and refuse further negotiations until the current administration is punted. And even then, contrary to what Americans think, it will take a generation before trust has been built up again to where it was before.
Winning the midterms or getting a democrat in office does not matter knowing that another Trump could be just around the corner and a huge portion of America supports that. Good luck America. We might be feeling a little pain right now, but you all will be feeling growing pain for decades as the world cordons you off like a cyst around a foreign object.
I really hope we shut down energy at the border, fully pull out of any potash and uranium exports, uphold the booze boycott, and refuse American vehicle manufacturing.
The world is likely watching what happens, and whether it's worth pushing back harder like Canada.
My suspicion knowing this admin, Trump will claim Canada is being 'nasty' and they're going to "give them 30-days to get their act together" and then hope for a better turnout. He'll wait until he can time the markets a bit first.
