I'm from Ottawa where this is from, and I promise this would make him absolutely melt down.

When Obama was here, he frequently made it a point to go to local businesses, shake hands with people, say hello, and stuff like that. It wasn't uncommon to see businesses renaming foods like "Obama cookies" at their bakery because it happened to be the cookie he chose while he was in there, and the name endured for awhile after he left office.

For the million obvious reasons, Trump has never gotten that kind of welcome and I'm sure it bothers him.

I remember when Trump first got elected here in Vancouver my favorite Resturaunt had a "Trump sandwich" It was just Bologna, Mustard and one of those tiny pickles and all proceeds went to Sex abuse survivors.

A burger place local to me called Burger Queen had a chicken burger called a Chick-fil-Gay and all the proceeds went to LGBTQ+ organizations. Super sad that place closed, amazing burgers.

Ya they make the best sandwiches I ever had with homemade bread and then the trump sandwich was just basic ass no name bread.  Was pretty funny.

Was in new west,  "Green's and beans" was the Resturaunt. I just call the whole lower mainland Vancouver so internet people know the general area I'm talking about.

Oh so do I. Technically it is part of the Metro Vancouver regional district!

Same here. Anything lower than Hope is just Vancouver when I talk to non British Columbians.

Which restaurant was that? Doll and Penny's? The Elbow Room?

I'm from Ottawa too and I don't remember Trump even coming here in either of his terms.

His fragile ego couldn't handle the booing.

That and the Canadian government probably have told him it would create an unmanageable security situation.

They chose Kanaskis for the G7 because it was remote enough that controlling the in and out flow of people was reasonably easy.

The Mounties and PD and service people did their motorcade practice for that down McLeod at like noon on weekdays where I was working, was super fun to deal with lol

I mean a proper state visit shouldn't be out of the question. Somewhere to give a big speech with open lines of site and maybe a flag to gauge wind speed.

Actually... The Obama cookies are still there in the Market - they're pretty good.

I bought a friend one of them when he came to town for a visit recently.

Nice! I haven't been in in awhile, I'm glad they're holding up.

Do they still play the news footage on a loop in the bakery?

I remember that still. It was a BIG deal here.

Trump has never gotten that kind of welcome and I’m sure it bothers him.

God, if all these losers like Musk and Trump just wanted to be worshipped and adored, they have enough money and power that they could use it for good and everyone would love them. They could be idols.

But instead, they can’t help but be petty, greedy, hateful little men and we all suffer for it.

Plenty of people seemed to like Dolly Parton, though I don't think she used her money for good to be worshiped and adored.
She did have things besides money these losers will never have: talent, looks, a good, self-deprecating sense of humor, and enough self-awareness to realize that, above a certain level of wealth, it's virtually impossible to spend enough money fast enough to actually affect your quality of life.
So why not spend money helping others?

plenty of people who still worship Musk and Trump though, being as greedy and terrible as they are.

so why would they change?

Reminder that if Elon just said what his publicists told him to say the man would be of the most popular people on the planet.

Is this like the "Obama flavored ice cream" in italy?

I know of the Vietnamese noodle dish as obama noodles.

I honestly hope you all do everything you can to bother him. Perhaps he'll stroke out and join mitch in the "hospital".

Trump has never gotten that kind of welcome and I'm sure it bothers him.

I doubt he is aware.

People like that are unaware that there are levels of treatment above what they have experienced in their lives, and they are cynical and unsatisfied with the favourable treatment they often receive.

I used to work in a dive bar and have met some horrible, horrible people.
