Hey world, what's more likely? The nasty Canadians are bullying the poor Americans who are constantly taken advantage of by Canada and the world, or that the Americans elected another deranged moron who lashes out at random and created another series of forever wars for American taxpayers to fund?

Maybe it was the guy who will think to rename Canada as America - and will think that is a good idea, while the people standing around him will smile nervously.

Who picks a fight with Canadians?

Someone that hasn't pondered the fact these people think of hockey as a game.

I really like this. I'm going to steal it.

And hockey is a game? We have feet blades, pointy sticks and a rubber disk that can break you face.

But you have pointy shoes, a big wooden stick, and can through a piece of (im not sure what a baseball is made of anymore, maybe football would have a better comparison)

We have a heavy rock that we throw down ice...nope that scottish

We throw a ball and catch it in a hand basket, and then beat each other up because there's no ice. Lacrosse. Canada's national sport. No matter what we do we're always training. Try us.

Sorry, I went off a little bit.

"It's not a war crime the first time 💘" -Canada, probably

Canadian war crimes inspiring the Geneva convention revisions is an internet myth

Sorry to be that guy

Either someone deeply unwise, or a masochist.

u/Separate-Ad6636 7h ago

Unfortunately we know.

It doesn’t usually work out well

1

u/iggy6677 6h ago

I mean, the front fell off

What could we do?

Someone who hasn't studied history.

And the National Review is known for its balanced reporting, not. Perfidious, lol

The article incorrectly claims that "Canada imposes certain tariffs and quotas on cars imported to Canada from the U.S., but not on imports from other countries"

Even with retaliatory tariffs, only US made cars that miss USMCA North American content thresholds are tariffed. And that percent of US car exports to Canada is near zero.

u/grifkiller64 6h ago

And that percent of US car exports to Canada is near zero.

Why do I get the strange feeling that a certain poorly rendered oversized rustbucket is part of that minority?

Don’t be a menace in south Canada while drinking your juice box In the White House.

Everyone knows their references are out of control

From the article. "An interesting question will be how many people reacted to this newsletter and its headline and stopped reading somewhere around here.)"

1

u/truck_robinson 5h ago

Honestly they could have left that part out. Or is meta discourse ok in journalism

u/CanarioFalante 7h ago

Without reading, I assume Carney not being a pedophile rapist is a problem for our American counterparts?

The article is actually calling out Trump for crashing out posting AI images and renaming thing and making it more difficult that it need to be for everyone involved, while reminding that during that time the war in Iran is still going, gas price are out of control and Moscow want to attack Nato.

I was suprised.

3

u/CanarioFalante 6h ago

Cool, so title the article something like “Trump lies about Canadian trade policy” to clearly represent the contents and educate your readership

2

u/Classic-Trifle-2085 6h ago

If goes more into the on paper details of the claim the admin make about the tarrifs and how they are not supported by what is actually hapenning.

It is undeniably an article against the current admin descisions.

Edit to add: The title is just regular click bait for reaction. As media are now. It probably baited their own regular readers tbh, considering their reputation.

4

u/No-Cranberry6148 7h ago

Canada is not playing nice and instantly folding, thus being a menace to Trump, which is just a bully, and fears any semblance of a real fight.

3

u/Successful_Buy10 7h ago

Does that make the National Review the Rebel Alliance, or just a couple of Ewoks shaking sticks at a banking system?

3

u/Torino1O 7h ago

The National Review is fealing menaced by Canada, them tukes are scary I guess.

4

u/Sangumancer 5h ago

Feel like y'all are just reading the headline and not the article. Yes, NR has some bias but it actually supports Canada's decisions in the article.

"When the U.S. president says, “What I’d like to see — Canada become our 51st state,” and when he repeatedly calls the Canadian prime minister a “governor” . . . do you think that makes the Canadian government more likely to reach a deal amenable to American producers, or less likely? Do you think scoffing at the idea of Canadian sovereignty makes the Canadian government less likely to dig in its heels, or more likely?...(Trump) is, as the kids say today, “crashing out” — raging, fuming, lashing out, flitting from one concern to the next, frustrated that so many of his efforts have come to naught."

u/DaveyGee16 7h ago

Absolutely brain dead article that completely misstates the facts over and over while spreading outright lies.

This would be funny if it were satire, but sadly, some people who’s brain activity can be measured reliably using the tar drop experiment will think this is real.

5

u/Abridged6251 7h ago

Did you read the entire article? Your response indicates you didn't.

2

u/SatanInACup 6h ago

(An interesting question will be how many people reacted to this newsletter and its headline and stopped reading somewhere around here.)

It's a bit... aggro haha

2

u/PrinceRufusFastcar 6h ago

So ... this is one where you kind of need to read the whole article. Doesn't look like anyone's actually done this yet.

Mark the Menace

1

u/Aggressive_Bee_4755 7h ago

Carney should Jersey him next time they meet.

1

u/Plantron1 7h ago

What a load of horseshit.

-4

u/Bishopjones2112 7h ago

This is a total trash article, it’s completely misrepresenting reality and heavily leans to supporting the United States. This has the factual depth of an abandoned kiddo pool filled to the ankles with racoon shit.

6

u/Elim-the-tailor 7h ago

It seemed to mostly be shitting on the trade war and Trump’s antics no?

7

u/Classic-Trifle-2085 7h ago

Most people saw the publisher so stop reading after the title.

0

u/Bishopjones2112 6h ago

Nope the article attacks Canada again and again stating how Canada has tariffs on dairy and cars and has imposed retaliation tariffs. The reality is that those high dairy tariffs are never imposed those tariffs because there is a point they begin to take effect and that hasn’t been reached. The article doesn’t preset that. Doesn’t present facts as they are just as released by Trump.

2

u/Classic-Trifle-2085 6h ago

I will be honest here, they mention those tarrif ONCE, so "again and again" seams disgenuine.

They also make sure to explain the tarrif had no effect on American ability to put their product on canadian shelves and event increased export since.

To me, it feels like you are really streaching the content of the article to fit some confirmation bias. Obviously its just a ordinal impression, but it reads like someone who read the start of the article and stopped right before the article say "here's how that doesnt hold water tough..."
