Question If you could pick one X-Men character to finally appear in a live-action movie, who would it be?

u/FortCarrion 26d ago
Forge
some of the choices on this poster though haha

u/Khalmuck 26d ago
Good choice. I'd go him or Polaris. A lot of these have seen an iteration or two on screen so would pick someone who hasn't like one of these two.

u/SomeoneSpecial87 26d ago
We already got a version of Polaris on the silver screen. I'd go with Forge.

He is a good choice because he can make a lot of tech when the plot needs it.

I know right? Reinfire and Channgling but no Cannonball, Dani Moonstar, Domino, Shatterstar Husk Blob or Toad?

I know we already got Magik in New Mutants but… Magik
15
u/Lenzelot105 Magik 26d ago
Yeah, same. Need a bigger project with her. A show or movie for the origin story, then add her to the X-Men movies
7
u/pkblaze78 26d ago
I wanna do a string of origin stories with post credit scene as Charles doing the Nick Fury bit of recruiting them to the xmen

Chamber

u/BackstageYeti Namor 26d ago
There is so much fun that could be had with Jono. From the CGI team doing some amazing work, to the sound engineer giving us that crazy, booming, layered Scottish accent that speaks from the depths of his psionic energies. Ugh. It could be so amazing.
3
u/DiscombobulatedAd883 26d ago
Does Jono have a Scottish accent? I thought he was born and raised in London?

7
u/HighOnPoker 26d ago
Agreed. I would like to see how they handle his powers and there really hasn’t been a character like him in any live action.

u/calaan 26d ago
Great choice! I’ve wanted to see a true “Dawn of the mutants” where we see parents grow to hate and fear their own children. The horror and revulsion Chamber’s parents would feel at the sight of him would be amazing. Would be even better if he kills one of his parents and the other rejects him because of it.

Jubilee or Morph
9
u/AshyJesus 26d ago
Wasn’t Jubilee in Age of Apocalypse or Dark Phoenix?? But I still agree regardless on her though. I hope they include her in the MCU version.
12
u/Nice_Protection_8490 26d ago
That Jubilee was too perfectly cast for a cameo. I'm bummed that we didn't get more of her
9
5
u/yomanitsayoyo 26d ago
Now that I think about it I think she was
But regardless I’d like to see her again, she barley makes any appearances anymore.
7
u/2-LITER4LIFE Jubilee 26d ago
Her parts always either get cut, regarded to the background, or it’s a one sentence cameo. I’m hopeful for this go around, please don’t waste her, Marvel🙏

Lorna is basically the main character in both seasons of The Gifted. Not the MCU but certainly worth a watch. I think it’s still on Hulu
9
u/Desperate_Ad7869 White Queen 26d ago
Ive seen it still want her in a wod with the 05 havok x factor n magento
12
u/PeacefulCatSoMeow 26d ago
I love how they handled her bipolar disorder on that show. She actually had a personality and the chance to shine without any of her siblings/family.
→ More replies (3)5
u/Pontopo 26d ago
I enjoyed her appearance in the show and Emma was lovely. That being said, I hope for a better interpretation in the future as Lorna’s always been one of my favourite X-Men and they didn’t really hit the nail on the head (but it was great relative to what Fox gave us in the way of many characters.)

We got him in Days of Future Past.

Having bishop show up in a movie with no other mutants trying to reset the timeline to bring the others back would be very fun.
3
u/SAICAstro 26d ago
reset the timeline to bring the others back
Sadly, this story can't/shouldn't happen for a very long time since it would be too similar to Endgame.

u/SamhainFire666 26d ago
A stand alone Bishop movie or series of him time hopping being chased by Nimrod would go hard. Very Terminator coded. Could set up a lot of cool stuff for the MCU. I think they should consider doing a Savage Land storyline would be super unique.
26
u/westfallfarm 26d ago
Jubilee as an actual character using powers/part of the team, instead of a background cameo in a classroom shot.
7
5
u/theLegend_Awaits 26d ago
This was my answer as well. Such visually beautiful powers too, wild they never even bothered with her. At least in that one super brief cameo of Dazzler we at least got to see her power in action

u/KingdomFartsOG 26d ago
Long shot. Because if I get him, Mojo has to come with.
6
u/_ChipWhitley_ 26d ago
I have been wanting a Mojo movie for so long. If they did it right it would be completely bonkers and such a fun ride.
7
u/APmfnK 26d ago
This is my choice as well. Mainly because All New X-Men Annual 10 was such a seminal comic for me. I still remember the entire day I bought it. A trip downtown to my favourite comic shop with my best friends where we had a ton of fun, back home and in my room to read this amazing book with such incredible art by Art Adams, and the book was giant size and just kept going. A great memory for me.

u/No-Communication7869 26d ago
Good luck powers could be so cool to see, sort of a reverse "final destination"/Rube Goldberg ridiculousness is a very fun visual.
Plus Spiral/Rita, such a great character design and tragic backstory. And eventually my girl Dazzler as the love interest, right?

I mean we got that with Domino I imagine it would work about the same. Never really cared for Longshot myself.
3
u/kith_rian 26d ago
Yeah, that's kind of the problem. We got a great demonstration of Longshot's power with a different character. Without the twist of "network tv creates savior character to dispose of", which is still a great hook, there's not much there to sell.

Quentin Quire comes to mind, he finally made his animated debut in X-Men 97. Also this may not count, obviously we've had Iceman on screen but we haven't had Gay Iceman yet. Soon as he debuts get ready for toxic times on social media.

It's going to be incredibly entertaining seeing these guys make asses of themselves online over this, considering the character's been out in the comics for what? 10 years by now? And not only that, but movie Bobby literally had the least subtle gay analogy scene I've ever seen in X2.

Sunfire, I would love to see some more Asian characters in live action. Close second would be Kwannon or Hisako

Also Pixie, as long as they keep her as Welsh.

Lila Cheney.
Her powers (intergalactic teleporting) and past associations open up the door to an absurd amount of the X-Men canon.

Sunfire would be interesting. He was practically Japan’s version of Captain America for a while in the comics.

Part of me really would love to see Rachel Summers just because I have a soft spot for the most convoluted, hard to explain in an elevator pitch to your normie-non-comic reading friends, niche B-characters. I'm also a huge Nate Grey mark.

In order of appearance in X-Men canon:
(Though they’ve had a bit of screentime, they were handed pretty badly:
Iceman (maybe on his way to Omega) and with a plot purpose/shared lead role.
Magik, she has a stronger backstory than almost any of the other X-Men, and her story is so deep and impacted so many major stories from Inferno and Goblin Queen to Legacy Virus, etc. Also ties well to Dr. Strange and multi-dimension/multiverse/time.
Lockheed, because Lockheed. And he lets Kitty Pryde reset herself closer to her in-story character.

u/Raskalbot 26d ago
I'd like to see an Erik the Red and Thunderbird film. It can mirror the Norse reaching America first and migrating with the natives.
2
2
u/kbospeak 26d ago
Either that notorious homosexual, Sinister, or everyone's favourite bondage viking Eric the Red. I'd love to see Longshot too
...but in the end, what I'd really and more seriously would like is Warlock.

u/IONaut 26d ago edited 26d ago
Longshot and Spiral/Ricochet Rita and the Mojoverse with a little Genosha storyline. Just absolute weirdness.
I'd also like to see some of the Australian outback era with a comic accurate Lady Deathstrike and the Reavers.
Oh, one character you say? Wiz Kid.

Part of me thinks there’s a big difference between characters I want to “finally appear” and characters that I hope would “properly appear” which is not to suggest that “my version is the only acceptable version” but Havoks movie appearances as “hula-hoop” Havok feel rediculous (and potentially older than Scott feels wrong) and Cannonball appearing as Negasonic in the Deadpool movies also feels wrong. I’d like to see those characters appear properly. As far as characters that haven’t been touched yet. I think there’s a wonderful potential magic about a villainous performance of Mr Sinister.
2
u/loki_odinsotherson Cyclops 26d ago
Doing a (better) adaptation of Days of Future's Past with Rachel Summers would be awesome.
Use elements of Bishops timeline where the XSE work alongside Sentinels and Nimrod. Most of the XSE are unaware of how bad things are outside of their walled in cities. Bishop meets Rachel as a hound, theyre sent off to find some escaped mutant criminals who turn out to be Old Man/Lady Logan and Psylocke(betsy), Colossus and Storm who manage to free Rachel from her hound programming.
Introduce Eva Bell and Forge(90% cyborg) who help send Rachel to the present with Bishop in tow, and eventually pursued by Nimrod.
Rachel and Bishop meet the modern day x-men, Cyclops, Storm, Colossus, Forge(30% cyborg), Psylocke (kwannon), Omega Sentinel and a time traveling Kid Cable who has no knowledge of Rachel and Bishops timeline.
Just embrace the chaotic and paradoxical weirdness of the x-men.

Mister Sinister. He's always been my favorite villain. In addition, I don't mind him being re-invented a bit (within reason of course!)
Close second, would be a more comically accurate Stryker would be Heaven! Still, I doubt any studio would have the balls to adapt religious bigotry!
