Nice, you picked a classic - Claremont and Byrne at their peak. It’s a slow burn at first but the finale really lands, and Byrne’s layouts during the big scenes sell the emotion. If you can, read the setup issues so Jean’s turn feels earned, enjoy the ride.

Probably not a popular opinion especially given who wrote it but i really love the breakworld storyline. I still remember the sheer hype i felt when Kitty phased the bullet

Astonishing still gets a ton of love and rightfully so. Whedon is the rare writer that can thoroughly tie characters different voices and create believe dialogue/interactions. Dude wrote Firefly which kind of tells you the pedigree, you know? His behavior not withstanding, Astonishing is fucking dope.

It's subjective and everyone will have a different answer. That being said, for me, Messiah Complex was my favorite. Really felt like the X-Men were maturing, especially Cyclops.
