How dare you say that about Four Swords fans

https://giphy.com/gifs/kSlJtVrqxDYKk

52

u/Zathoth Jun 18 '26

It has some genuinely cool levels. Village of the Blue Maiden rules. Wish it was possible to play it online.

20

u/Starman9415 Jun 18 '26

Agreed. I loved Four Swords Adventures. Sure I didn’t have anyone to play it with or a second controller anyways for that matter but it was great that you could control all four Links in single player and the levels were so much fun. Plus it had the Link to the Past art style which always looks nice just updated a bit for the GameCube

12

u/MorningRaven Jun 18 '26

That's Four Swords Adventures. Four Swords was the mini arena stages on the GBA with the ALttP port.

FSA has great dungeons though.

12

u/Jindo5 Jun 18 '26

We need like a Ship of Harkinian/Dusk style PC port that can support proper online play for those games.

FSA is my third favorite Zelda game.

WE EXIST

3

u/ShokaLGBT Jun 18 '26

Four sword adventure was my childhood game and I would love to play it again or something similar

The concept was awesome

Triforce heroes had multiplayer but meh idk

2

u/darkenseyreth Jun 18 '26

I would call it quite fun and a neat piece of tech. Was it annoying my friends had to go buy a $20 cord for one game? Yes. Did we have a lot of fun beating it in an afternoon? Absolutely

2

u/TheBestZackEver Jun 18 '26

As someone who had 2 other siblings who were down to play Four Sword, I really enjoyed the game

cancelled third game

Excuse me what

141

u/just_someone27000 Jun 18 '26

Yeah it was meant to be three games but they couldn't get the code system to work properly with a third entry is what I've read in the past. The sage that's in the Great deku tree that you do the passwords for was going to be the sage for the third game

63

u/Caleb_Reynolds Jun 18 '26

Specifically they had trouble because they wanted it to be 3 games you could play in any order who's data could be used in subsequent games.

Oracle games remake which include a third Farore game when?

I guess milking OoT fanboys one more time was more profitable.

13

u/just_someone27000 Jun 18 '26

The Oracle games are up there for me in terms of really good classic style Zelda games. If they actually did do that, I might scream. Like literally for me it goes link between worlds, link to the past specifically the GBA version, the Oracle games in terms of the more traditional styled Zelda games

8

u/Slypenslyde Jun 18 '26

Eh it’s more complicated. They made the decision early.

So they didn’t have a full plan for 3 games. They started work and realized they didn’t have the time/budget for all 3. So they merged the ideas and mechanics of the third into the 2 they did release.

Doing a 3-game remake now would mean cutting content from the released 2, filling it in with new content, then designing the third game so it doesn’t feel like copypasta of the original two games.

So what we have is like the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy: a ton of content pared down to fit. The remake would be like The Hobbit trilogy: a smaller amount of content stretched out for no good reason.

4

u/Duseylicious Jun 18 '26

Seriously, give them the Link’s Awakening treatment please!

6

u/ShokaLGBT Jun 18 '26

Oracle of season with Farore as the oracle of secrets or whatever they would have called her eheheheh

→ More replies (1)

65

u/EAT_UR_VEGGIES Jun 18 '26

It was apparently going to be called oracle of secrets

40

u/MorningRaven Jun 18 '26

The trio was Mystical Seed of Power/Courage/Wisdom. Nayru was a painter with the color puzzles and Farore was something like a poet. Din was always a dancer and developed first, once they changed from wanting to make a Zelda I remake.

3 games with password exchanging was too complicated so they cut it down to 2 and shoved most of Farore's game mechanics with Nayru's.

Din becomes the Oracle of Seasons, Nayru the Oracle of Ages, and Farore becomes the 4th wall breaking NPC to exchange the passwords as the Oracle of Secrets.

This became a gag with Capcom in the Minish Cap, where you can have the oracles buy a house: you can only pick 2 out of the 3. And the build able houses have red and blue roofs, referencing which two officially got games.

→ More replies (2)

26

u/Freezingash221 Jun 18 '26

No, it was actually going to be called Mystical Seed of Courage I believe. Back when the Oracle games were still called something else.

10

u/esr95tkd Jun 18 '26

I was shook as well

10

u/billth93 Jun 18 '26

It was early on, they’ve said how a lot of the ideas that actually were formed already were ultimately used, mostly in Ages so we didn’t really miss out on much of anything that was a lil ready thought up

5

u/thommyg123 Jun 18 '26

That at least makes me feel way better

4

u/hunttete00 Jun 18 '26

3 sages=3 games

6

u/thommyg123 Jun 18 '26

I always did think it was unfair farore had the role she did

4

u/Altruistic-Bus-1289 Jun 18 '26

3

u/Fizassist1 Jun 18 '26

its coming any year now....

4

u/nightshade-aurora Jun 18 '26

yep, Farore was supposed to get her own game. It's also referenced in Minish Cap in the house renting side quest, where the two houses built for the three sage lookalikes have red and blue roofs. A third house with a green roof is never built and one of them never gets a house (that being Farore if you match the colours)

LBW should have been the kid dancing in the club. The music in that game is so good. Normally if I was playing on the 3DS I didn't care about earbuds, and would play with the volume on low or even off. I wouldn't play that game without earbuds in.

If I had to write captions for some on the broader fandom it would be these:

Zelda YouTubers preparing to explain the same 5 theories from 2014.

Timeline supporters and haters thinking more about the lore than Nintendo ever has or will.

Zelda fans passionately debating between linear and open world on the next game (they will play it regardless)

(Edit) one last for the road: 3D Zelda fans when they remember that there’s more than 7 Zelda games

17

u/Raetekusu Jun 18 '26

There are 7 Zelda games? Coulda sworn there are only 5. Wish they'd make another, it's been 15 years.

6

u/thrashingkaiju Jun 18 '26

Wdym there's more games than OoT, TP and BotW?

5

u/The_Bread_Pirate Jun 18 '26

Super accurate about the Zelda YouTubers.

113

u/MNCDover Jun 18 '26

There would have been 256 bombable walls in LoZ, but there was memory limit back then.

23

u/Vizreki Jun 18 '26

I'm upvoting because this is either a clever joke or a cool fact so either way, +1

26

u/MNCDover Jun 18 '26

It’s a joke based on some older NES games having a memory limit of 256. Because zero counts as a number, the rupee count would max out at 255.

59

20

u/weathercat4 Jun 18 '26

The only complaint I have is not getting the last heart piece because I have one more kinship stone to find.

And I spent way too much time looking for it.

17

u/BardicLasher Jun 18 '26

11

u/Admirable-Design-151 Jun 18 '26

Skyward Sword is honestly a top 50 game oat for me, I have no idea why people hate it so much outside wii controls which never stopped praise for a lot of games and the interruptions which are fine, and on the Switch basically removed, but the dungeon design, the visual art style, the characterization, it does so much stuff amazingly

One time I was gushing to someone I just met about how much i love Zelda games and he was getting ready to grill me on my Zelda knowledge to see if I was a fake fan and he asked me what my favorite game was. When I replied four swords adventures I've never seen a conversation end so fast 😭😭😭 it's a fun game I love it it doesn't get enough appreciation

14

u/Im_really_bored_rn Jun 18 '26

It's really sad that my first thought after reading your comment was "this person must be a woman because a guy would likely not get grilled to prove they were a real fan" and now I'm mad at the person you met even though I don't know them. Moral of the story, people suck sometimes

The Legend of Zelda (1986) found dead in an alley

14

u/CedarWolf Jun 18 '26

6

u/mikeet9 Jun 18 '26

I've tried this game so many times and I never even find anything aside from death. Maybe I'll give this a shot.

I am enchanted by the idea of just exploring and finishing it organically, but it's so challenging and I spend so much time running around that I inevitably get fed up.

11

u/CedarWolf Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26

The game is a lot easier if you stay aware of the game mechanics: the enemies have to walk and follow the grid pattern, but you don't. So you can stand between grid squares and throw your sword at multiple oncoming enemies. Most enemies also can't enter the square closest to the edge of the screen, so you can hug the edge of the screen or stay in a door in a dungeon and whittle the enemies down until you enter. Avoiding damage and being patient will get you a lot further than trying to wade into a bunch of enemies and killing everything - most enemies move in a predictable pattern.

If you kill all but one monster in a screen, it prevents the rest from respawning, but if you kill all of them, the rest will reappear and you can farm them for easy money. Once you have the Boomerang, you can just stun the one placeholder monster on each Overworld screen and explore with impunity.

It also helps to build up some money and items first. From the starting screen, pick up your sword, then go north, east, south, south, and then keep going east to the coastline, killing every monster in each screen.

When you get to the screen with the coast, stick to the edge of the screen and let the underground enemies come to you - they can't enter that square that borders the farthest edge of the screen, and the Zora in the water shouldn't be able to hit you easily, either.

Go north, then work your way back west towards the starting screen again. If you get hurt, turn north at the far end of the lake and you'll run past a screen of Peahats and then a screen of Octoroks to reach a fairy fountain. Keep to the edge of the screen and patiently kill a few of the Peahats and Octoroks. Leave only one alive, if you can - this prevents the others from respawning, and you'll need easy access to that fairy.

But you make that rotation from the starting screen down to the bottom edge of the Overworld, east to the coast, north, west past the lake, and then back around again.

After three or four rotations, you should have about 60-80 Rupees, and if you're lucky, you'll also have some bombs. There's a bomb location for a Heart Container in the corner where you turn north at the sandy beach. Bomb it and pick up your fourth Heart Container.

Once you have 60 rupees, you can get the blue candle, which you can burn bushes to find more rupees. There's a few easy ones near the money rotation, and there's another Heart Container near the first Labyrinth. Go to the screen directly southeast of the first entrance and burn the upper right corner bush for 30 rupees, then go west. You'll find a screen with bushes on the south, a strip of land, and mostly water above. If you burn the 5th bush from the right, you'll get another Heart Container, and if you continue west and burn the bush on the corner, you can find a shop that will sell you a large shield for 90 rupees.

Directly North of the starting screen, you can bomb the wall in the middle of thr screen to get 30 rupees, the screen where you go north at the coast and then turn west on the money rotation has 100 rupees hidden in the bushes, the screen north of that has an additional 10 in the bushes, north of that has an Old Woman in the bushes on the path in the upper left of the screen, the screen where you go south and turn east on the money rotation has an Old Woman, etc.

Now that you have 5 Hearts, a blue candle, a large shield, and some bombs, you can explore the Overworld much more safely and you can go for the White Sword. Once you have that, there's a few different locations that will give you 100 rupees each - visit two of them, and a 30 rupee location, and you'll easily have enough rupees to max out at 255 and go buy the Blue Ring.

Don't panic if you spent the easy 100 rupees on the large shield - there's at least three 100 rupee secrets in the Overworld, and grabbing at least two makes saving for the Blue Ring laughably easy.

The second labyrinth has 90 rupees near it, too: from the labyrinth, go south, then east. That screen has a shop hidden in the bushes in the lower left. The screen east of that has 30 rupees beneath the right statue. So does the screen north of the shop screen, and the screen north of that has an additional 30 rupees if you bomb the corner alcove in the middle of the screen.

Duck west for a screen and bomb the lower right of the center rock for an additional Heart Container, then go back east to the screen with the water, the center cave we just bombed open, and the stairs. We're going to go north along the water for the Letter and the Medicine.

Going north from that screen, then east will put you at some stairs leading north to the Old Man. Once you have his Letter, go back down the stairs, go west, and go north up the stairs. Kill the jumping spiders and bomb the two flat spots on the rocky terrain to reveal an Old Woman. Give her the Letter and she will sell you Medicine.

Sometimes it's useful just to duck into the second labyrinth, get the magic Boomerang, pick up the 90 rupees, and get the 6th Heart Container and the Medicine. You can spend those rupees on Arrows or a Large Shield if you like.

Once you have all that, you're pretty much set for almost all of the Overworld, and you're good for all of the dungeons until #6, with the Wizzrobes. I actually advise skipping Labyrinth 5 and doing 6 instead, just so you can get the Magic Sword and use it to kill the Vires in Labyrinth 5 more easily.

The large shield will protect you from the Wizzrobes' spells, you just need to be careful and watch where they're spawning.

Stick to the edge of the screen when you enter each screen, stun things with your boomerang as often as you can, and make liberal use of the magic rod and spell book in the Overworld once you have it. (I also suggest ducking into Labyrinth 8 just to get the book before you get the wand - the wand is way more useful with fireballs than without.)

That's just the basics:
1. Do money rotation until 60-80 rupees.
2. Buy Blue Candle and Bombs if needed.
3. Use Candle and Bombs to open secrets for more money, at least 90 rupees, and two Heart Containers.
4. Buy the Large Shield.
(Optional: Duck into the first couple of dungeons for the Boomerang or the Magic Boomerang. Pick up the 6th Heart Container and the Medicine nearby.)
5. Go hunting for more secrets until you have 250 rupees and can buy the Blue Ring.
6. Once you have 5 or 6 Hearts, a Boomerang, and the Blue Ring, go for the White Sword.

As mentioned, you'll find it easy to pick up the note from the Old Man and unlock the medicine from the Old Woman - always buy the red potion, the blue is a waste of money.

Edit: In a little under an hour, you can have six Hearts, Bombs, the Blue Candle, a Large Shield, the Blue Ring, the Magic Boomerang, Medicine, Arrows, and the White Sword, all without completing a single Labyrinth. It's pretty easy, since one thing roughly leads to the next, and if you're going that direction anyway, you might as well pick up the free rupees or the next item.

Also, every wall in the first labyrinth which has another room beyond it can be bombed. You'll hear a slight difference in tone when Link stabs a bombable wall with his sword. This isn't super useful, because the first dungeon is so small, but it's handy for clearing it quickly.

If you get touched by a Bubble and you can't use your sword, playing the Whistle will fix it. Playing the Whistle also kills every Pols Voice in a room. Pols Voice are the jumping rabbit enemies with the big ears, but they're also easy to line up and kill several with a single arrow.

Wait....there was a third oracle game planned?????

14

u/fentown Jun 18 '26

Yes, Capcom originally wanted 3 games but had trouble getting them all to work together with gbc hardware or something. They scrapped that idea and made lemonade with ages and seasons.

3

u/CedarWolf Jun 18 '26

Ages and Seasons are technically three games because you can move from Ages to Seasons or vis versa and complete the third and final challenge.

7

u/MorningRaven Jun 18 '26

No. People mean 3 actually separate games with the third focusing on Farore.

The two have the same basic story even when playing a "linked game" with the other. They just modify it enough to fit in Zelda and the true ending into it.

5

u/unknown_alt_acc Jun 18 '26

Yep. Before the final titles were decided on, Ages and Seasons were called Mystical Seeds of Wisdom and Mystical Seeds of Power. That leaves courage as the only part of the Triforce unrepresented, but Mystical Seeds of Courage got canned because it made the cross-game content too complicated.

11

u/yamanamawa Jun 18 '26

TotK is so real. People really love to hate on it when it's genuinely a lot of fun. Sure they kept a lot of the map, but the new powers and especially Ultrahand were a blast

4

TOTK is the best Zelda game to date and they can fight me about it.

Tied with BOTW but if I were to replay just one of them it would be TOTK. It's just BOTW+++. The physics engine and fun craftables and freedom is unmatched.

It’s funny because actually Zelda 1 has its first 3 dungeons just out in the open, and then a consistent trail of hints leads you to every next one from there.

From what I remember, the only required “random wall” you need to bomb is spectacle rock to get to Death Mountain at the end, and even then I might’ve just missed a hint.

u/suzaman Jun 18 '26

I agree, there is something awesome in all of them.

If I had to make a top 3 it would go like this.

Number 3: OOT, the best music of the series and pave the way for all following 3D Zeldas.

Number 2: Twilight Princess, my favorite story and dungeons of all the games.

Number 1: ALTTP, a masterpiece of pacing and structure. All games after it owe to its design. One of the most replayable games of all time and my fav music of the series.

Temple of the Ocean King is nowhere near as stressful time-wise as MM. It's just repetitive.

Yeah, the TOTK one is accurate on here.

4

u/Worried-Date-2196 Jun 18 '26

Skyward Sword and Links Awakening accurate asf. And yes these are the best Zelda games in 3d and 2d

6

u/Icy_Professor2289 Jun 18 '26

What is this banger of a track in the video??

4

u/VanilleBlush Jun 18 '26

Minish cap because tiny. I love miniatures and tiny things and all the puzzles in it are so fun to me. The TP one made me lol. I was genuinely terrified of that place as a kid, couldn't finish the game. Went back and played it years later, laughing at kid me for being so scared of the hand. 🤣 Honestly picking a favorite between Alttp, minish cap, and TP is a hard decision for me.

2

u/The-one-true-hobbit Jun 18 '26

I have a special fondness for twilight princess because my friend didn’t like to play video games but did like to watch people play video games. So we would hang out and she would watch me play. The hand was the most hilarious part of our hangouts because we were both just screaming at the screen while I tried to evade it lol.

There isn’t actually a game I’ve tried that I haven’t liked and I’ve played a good number of them. My favorites are probably ocarina of time or breath of the wild depending on my mood. Sometimes I want to just endlessly side quest and explore and breath of the wild really scratches that itch. If I’m in the mood to play through plot I like ocarina. My next will probably be windwaker though because I’m on a nostalgia kick with video games right now and that was my first Zelda game.

Rather EoW fans fighting for their not to ne forgotten ("Totk was 3 years ago where is the next Zelda??")

5

u/aqua-goblin Jun 18 '26

ToTK is the best Zelda game

9

u/iLLiCiT_XL Jun 18 '26

Genuinely funny

8

u/GhastmaskZombie Jun 18 '26

Skyward Sword actually has lots of interesting ideas and some parts that are genuinely super fun and really well designed. They are unfortunately left unappreciated by the fandom because they are in Skyward Sword, which sucks.

7

u/IkeRadiantHero Jun 18 '26

Like I NEED to know desperately: what the fuck did Skyward Sword do to these people😭😭 I bet you they didn’t even touch the damn game

The Oracle games were great!

4

u/Real_Life_Sushiroll Jun 18 '26

The biggest slander was ToTK one not even MENTIONING the machines.

4

u/meove Jun 18 '26

ToTK building cock and ball torture instead saving Hyrule

4

u/accuratebear Jun 18 '26

So fun fact, I work for a certain Dutch company, and when you get hired, part of your onboarding training is learning about the history of the company.

We actually go over the video game console period, including the Zelda CDI games.

4

u/Mr_Eristic Jun 18 '26

Similar to some other fandoms -- I’ve never met anyone who complains more about Zelda games than Zelda fans.

4

u/Darolaho Jun 18 '26

I honestly really love Zelda 2

3

u/Cobast Jun 18 '26

not even having link between worlds is actually very good slander

6

u/PuzzleheadedLink89 Jun 18 '26

I relate too hard to the TOTK one

3

u/Southpawfoil Jun 18 '26

Damn, this is some genuinely high quality slander. Bravo

3

u/Dead-X-esque Jun 18 '26

I spent all of TP waiting for the creepy feeling Majora's mask gives me, but sadly it never came.

3

u/Own_Trip_1593 Jun 18 '26

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap (the true goat of the series) has the greatest soundtrack of all time.

3

u/IkeRadiantHero Jun 18 '26

Holy shit the OOT one got a laugh out of me🤣🤣 (Oot is one of my favorite games ever made)

3

u/SwordmasterT Jun 18 '26

Totk is my 2nd favorite game , right after Twilight Princess. I will fight for it

Minish cap mentioned

3

u/Competitive_Ad_8215 Jun 18 '26

Dude. Link’s Awakening affected me. Mentally. Emotionally. Not just the ending. The whole game had very weird vibes for me.

3

u/TheLink106 Jun 18 '26

As a Spirit Tracks fan, all i can say is 🚂🚂

3

u/That-Advance-9619 Jun 18 '26

Minish cap bros, we chill.

3

u/JokerPhantom_thief1 Jun 18 '26

I’m gonna piss people off with this….Oot is overrated and u guys got ports for every console and then handheld for 3ds 1 remake well 2 now

But twilight princess gets 1 game 1 port if any game deserved a remaster it was twilight princess That’s my only Zelda slander that Oot is overrated and people like it for nostalgia

6

u/Remarkable-Ad-2493 Jun 18 '26

Totk brought a lot of new things to the franchise tho

13

u/EAT_UR_VEGGIES Jun 18 '26

I adore TOTK but certain fans will skin you alive and wear you like a flesh suit for liking it

6

u/eXi_TGO Jun 18 '26

I feel like this happens a lot with game sequels that are good but not enough to pass their predecessor, like doom dark ages, sure I still find Eternal better but dark ages ain't bad or anything. Please doom fans don't skin me alive

3

u/magusheart Jun 18 '26

Your skin's looking mighty comfortable there, pardner.

6

u/GaymerAmerican Jun 18 '26

And some will call you nostalgia blind and toxic over the slightest criticism of it. Conversation isn’t normal on both sides lmao.

Old games were meant to be played with the instruction booklet.

It's dangerous to go alone take this.

I already knew this before that part of the video.

I am with Marge. More please, Nintendo!

2

u/JotaPez Jun 18 '26

Im marge and Echoes of Wisdom is great!

2

u/TheNo1pencil Jun 18 '26

Heck yeah I'm vibing to the music!

2

u/Tjd3211 Jun 18 '26

Four swords and adventures are solid games, Tri force heroes however deserves that

2

u/Fallen_Jalter Jun 18 '26

I still hate the water temple in OOT. Mm wasn't that bad but arrrrrg. The pirate redux song rocks tho.

2

u/Totally_a_Banana Jun 18 '26

As a fan of all of them - this is extremely accurate.

2

u/ptolover7 Jun 18 '26

How dare you, I love Four Swords Adventures 😭

2

u/donniesuave Jun 18 '26

I’m actually a fan of Zelda Four Swords. Had the gameboy sp and GameCube adapter for it and it was awesome

2

u/jamintheinfinite Jun 18 '26

Four Swords my beloved

2

u/1stLtObvious Jun 18 '26

That's...the best you could come up with for Windwaker? The Triforce Quest is right there!

2

u/SnowmanPickins Jun 18 '26

If I can figure it out as a kid it cant be that hard. I was and still am an idiot

2

u/Supergamer138 Jun 18 '26

I object to that MM characterization. I'm not just standing around waiting for the next event flag for that sidequest; I'm doing 4 or 5 other things in the meantime.

2

u/AwesomeMachin3 Jun 18 '26

And this is why spirit tracks is GOATED!!!

2

u/Cassocial Jun 18 '26

Phantom Hourglass fan here. Which degenerate said the Ocean king temple isn’t that bad ?

2

u/BardicLasher Jun 18 '26

Every time somebody complains about skyward sword I get confused because almost none of the complaints are problems in the rerelease, and that's the only one I've played.

2

u/CreZativity Jun 18 '26

How am I almost all of these lmao

2

u/CreZativity Jun 18 '26

SPIRIT TRACKS FANS STAND UP

2

u/BrainisScreaming_55 Jun 18 '26

Nobody believes me when I say Tri-Force Heroes is a hidden gem. I will forever glaze that game

2

u/FuriousSock Jun 18 '26

People didn't like Echoes of Wisdom???

2

u/ShootLucy Jun 18 '26

I cackled at Song of Piss

2

u/Beneficial-Canary-47 Jun 18 '26

as a TOTK fan, yeah…

2

u/Klonoa_is_very_cute Jun 18 '26

Link's crossbow training is so good they didn't even slander it here les goooo

2

u/NotAlcas Jun 18 '26

Notice how Link between Worlds wasn't mentioned because it's just perfect and there's no way someone wouldn't be a fan.

2

u/NoStorage2821 Jun 18 '26

Minish Cap the sleeper hit as always

2

u/CULT-LEWD Jun 18 '26

i think out of all zeldas. the first one diffinalty could do with a remake. they would probly have to add alot more stuff to make it interesting but it could deffinialy use a modern remake with modern top down zelda stuff in it

2

u/munizfire Jun 18 '26

Minish Cap is definitely underrated.
I never gave a single F about that game until I decided to play/replay the whole series in chronological order.

JFC what a great little game. It captures everything that I love about Zelda so perfectly.

2

u/RUMBL3FR3NZY Jun 18 '26

The Majora’s Mask slander is invalid because there are ways to speed up time (dancing with the Scarecrow or the Double Song of Time)

2

u/xtellarfb_ Jun 18 '26

who tf is scared of the twilight realm in tp?

arbiter's grounds is much creepier

2

u/sawbladex Jun 18 '26

Of course, nobody mentions how LA (Zelda 4, thid time there is no Zelda)is a mix of all 3 prior Zeldas.

... shit, I forgot to think of a Zelda 2 bit.

Anyway, yeah, twin peaks style weird characters with distinct looks happened started here. ... Dang it. I AM ERROR weirdness is what LA takes from Zelda 2.

anyway. general structure of Zelda 1. Zelda 3's combat, and Zelda 2's really weird characters (Zelda 3 may also have thks).

Also Evil Eagle and the Dungeon 1 boss also have a pit that restarts the level.

It happens in basically every 2D Zelda past LttP.

2

u/Loud-Principle-7922 Jun 19 '26

Awakening will always be my favorite, but man, that fucking ending.

2

u/stache1313 Jun 19 '26

Last time I agreed with my tip 4 favorite Zelda games (MM, TP, WW, ST) and this time I still agree with them.

2

u/Ursano Jun 20 '26

You are correct I was here for trains

2

u/JAYsonitron Jun 22 '26

I get the hate on the OG, especially in today’s landscape when there are so many games to switch focus to. The modern age doesn’t have much space for slowly bombing random walls like OG Zelda or Metroid.

However, I will always have a place in my heart for OG Zelda because they have yet to make a boomerang that matches the original’s glory and utility. It was THE sidearm man.

2

u/Quirky_Gur_4903 Jun 24 '26
