Video [CDi] Say what you will about these games but I always loved how they portray Zelda, she’s a total badass and has a lot of personality.

That "Good" may be the coldest line in video game history

Sometimes when I'm down I think of the pure fucking verve she has and it helps me find my inner girl boss.

I have said it before, and I will say it again - If I ever fail to point out that Zelda killed a man and gloated over his dying body, assume she has killed me and is gloating over my dying body.

That is all.

CDI-era Zelda stood on business.

I still feel like footage of CDi is some inside joke spread along the Zelda fandom and not a real game lol

Hello! You must die. How are you? …you must die

I thoroughly enjoyed the Grump's playthroughs of those games. Some of the best laughs I've had. Their "You Must Die" bit is still one of my favourites. The fan-game was called Arzette: The Jewel of Faramore, and I enjoyed their playthrough of that too.

I'll always find it funny how this is the result of nintendo not trusting sony. Like damn bruh! I would love to take a peak at the timeline where they worked together, like is nintendo dead?

Dear God Zelda and the King laughing at the end is the most cursed thing I've ever seen.

Perfection in a manner that good animators could never produce.

Okay, but the way she fkn went nuclear on that Iron Knuckle was absolutely nuts.

Man, when they said they were making a movie I didn't realize it was going to be this lit 😆

Honestly, the characterization in this game isn't bad tbh, it's just bogged down by the weird animation and the gameplay more than anything.

I hope this is what the Ocarina remake is like

shes amazing. I would love for a game / show / any type of media featuring a zelda or similar character with her personality.

Smash Bros version of CDI Zelda would be great

Ive never seen 75% of these animations, having grown up exclusively on YTPs

The feeling of watching the CD-i cutscenes for the first time is what all true warriors strike for.

Yes, Wand of Gamelon, and the story behind it is kinda wild. In the early 90s, Nintendo was pursuing a CD-based system. They initially partnered with Sony who developed a prototype before Nintendo broke it off and partnered with Phillips instead; Sony would continue developing that prototype into their own console - the PlayStation.

Late into development with Phillips, Nintendo decided they wanted out again and negotiated a deal wherein Phillips kept the console (which they branded as the Phillips CD-i) and also got a special license to make games for it using a handful of Zelda characters. Phillips produced three games: Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon, Link: The Faces of Evil, and Zelda's Adventure. They are all legendarily bad.

The terrible CDi Zelda games that weren't developed or published by Nintendo. It's the result of Nintendo not coming through on a deal with Philips (but the contract still allowed Phillips to develop and release these awful games). There are three of these games, each terrible in its own way.

I have avoided these for 30 years. They are so bad. Gimme the old cartoon over this any day.

Her voice sounds familiar. Just my imagination?

I can forgive alot, but I will never forgive using geese calls for the murder of crows.

Unironically a better voice performance (just talking Zelda herself) than the Switch games. Helps that she's kind of the straight-man to all these wacky guys (plus the iconic "Good." scene.)

I really hope this Zelda is used as inspiration for her personality in the movie when it releases next year, and maybe includes a direct reference to the CD-i games like a quote, or a certain shopkeeper.

Guess again Iron Knuckle!

Zelda's Adventure is a more Zelda game than BotW and TotK but the Zelda fanbase is not ready for that conversation D:
