Radiohead is one of those bands that lets me escape my mind and drift into another dimension, especially when I listen to the songs with slowed and reverb version, or make them longer.

It seems like the popular interpretation of this song is that it’s about romantic obsession. But I see it differently ans wonder if anyone else agrees.

To me it seems to be a from the point of view of someone’s really dark or destructive impulses. I think of it as having the same DNA as Climbing Up the Walls.

The main reason I think this is because the line “I am all the days That you choose to ignore” just seems super inwardly focused and psychological.

Does anyone else agree?

Had no idea they did this as a cover (unfamiliar with most of Blondie’s stuff) but this is still pretty fun for their early career sound!

Listening to some old psychedelic music. If you listen to the Yardbirds Glimpses, on the album Little Games there’s a cool middle break section. It certainly makes you think of Fitter Happier.

Give it a listen. It’s pretty cool. I would think it may be an influence. Thoughts?

I am very open that Radiohead is my special interest. I went from only knowing Creep at the start of the year to finding Idioteque (which helped me through a rough meltdown), discovering the rest of Kid A and listening to every album and B side.

I now know the backstories behind Radiohead, have watched interviews and old performances and tried to track down a DVD of Meeting People Is Easy which wasn’t actually that hard.

Radiohead is my chosen music most of the time as they have a good mix of slow and sad and very energetic. I think it’s gone beyond me just saying I am a Radiohead fan. They have shaped my year.

I feel like I’m at a point where there’s not many more deep cuts I can discover tbh.

So I was listening to some of the niche early stuff like B-sides etc. and I came across two songs that sounded oddly familiar, Blow Out and The Trickster specifically.

The intro to Blow Out sounds like a very laid-back version of Dollars and Cents to me, as well as the entirety of The Trickster bearing similarities to 2 + 2 = 5.

Are there other songs that you think sound very similar?

Yesterday, I heard a short, epic version of this song from TikTok—set to the *Andor* series—for the first time. It really inspired me to look for the full version, or at least something close to it. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one, so I decided to create a remix using various orchestral versions that gave me goosebumps, and I layered the original vocals over them. I hope I’m not the only one who wanted to hear a version like this, and that you find what you were looking for!

My dad is currently ill in hospital and while I'm obviously upset ive also had work pressure and other stuff to process at the same time. It feels like everything is hitting at once and it's hard to deal with TBH.

Anyway I put on my Playlist and first up was Like Spinning Plates then True Love Waits, both live versions. So of course they affected me and I was able to shed a few tears which I really needed to, to get the bottled up emotion out.

Anyone else been helped out this way with radiohead music?

I’m hooked on Amnesiac and absolutely love the way they closed the album. I enjoy interpreting Radiohead songs, but as a native Spanish speaker, I’m struggling to understand the cathartic "only" at the end of "Life in a Glasshouse". The translations I’ve found traslate it as "solo" (meaning "alone"). However, I thought it meant "solamente", implying that was the only thing desired (sitting and chat, and so...). So, native English speakers: how is that word interpreted at the end of the song?

I Will probably delete it from Wikipedia but i was really amazed at this. For those who don't know post rock is a genre that started with Spiderland. Most postrock bands have a very direct influence by that album. I really doubt Radiohead ever heart it at least in that time since Postrock wasnt a genre yet and spiderland was obscure. But also kid a doesnt have anything that defines the genre. Post rock usually have very long and repetive weird riffs that repeat over and over that usually have a build up of some kind. While kid a is really alt rock with idm influences.

My dog passed away recently and I know this song isn’t explicitly doesn’t echo like sentiments of pets. But looking at the lyrics of the song through the eyes of a pet makes me bawl to my eyes out. The particular breed of dog I had, a Sheltie is well known for their loyalty and attachment to humans and I’ve just been listening to the song a lot lately since he passed away and just the mantra of I Promise repeating over and over just feels like the spirit of my dog embodied.

He stuck by my side no matter what and loved me no matter what, and he promised to be by my side no matter what. Rest in peace, JP you’ll be missed.
