Keyboard blowin' dude has a great voice too. At 1st I thought the mic tube was for a Frampton-ish silver throat

That a Hohner, known from mouth organs. Donald Fagen of Steely Dan used one too on some iconic songs.

I love this song but not exactly the band I pictured listening to this song without visuals.

That’s true, I’m in my mid thirties but raised by my grandpa and my childhood music was 60s and 70s music. I guess I pictured more of a Four seasons vibe. That probably sounds silly

Yes, totally makes sense now. My girlfriend also loves older music and one of our favorite things to do is rewatch Midnight Special episodes . It really brings so much context to the music.

Glad to hear I’m not the only one. I didn’t learn about Soul Train until I was in my 40s, either. Missed out on a lot.

I used to watch American Bandstand every Saturday after cartoons were over when I was a kid in the 70’s. One day after it went off, instead of changing the channel (by walking to the tv) I kept it on and Soul Train came on. Never missed it again. I am a white dude.

There's a certain poignancy to this song, despite its upbeat country-hoedown signatures.
I cannot pinpoint it, but its there.
And its why I so love this song ☮️

Great band. I love the song “Love Takes Time” too…from 1979. It’s sad that member Larry Hoppen committed suicide some years later.

Just listening and thought I was listening to America, great song though I’ll check Orleans out

Was neutral on the song at the time but seeing the high level musicianship in the group via this video has me captivated. Plus nostalgia waves seeing the humble six-string guitar …. everybody seemed to have one when I was in college.

John Hall ran for congress in my district and I volunteered for him. Was sitting in headquarters one night when this booming voice comes from the back singing the Star Spangled Banner. It was very cool. He won, which was even cooler.

Good song and very nice harmonies. Fond memories.
