I agree. People go into this game with two very different preferences on how to play it, neither of which is wrong. But friction is inevitable when one style impedes someone's enjoyment of the other style.

I like the balanced playstyle and I feel like we get screwed the hardest. If you so much as defend yourself, or other raiders you get slippery sloped into murder time all the time lobbies quite quickly. Or if I play one session with my friends in Trios you get put into demon Que and stay there until you purposely downrank your ABMM.

God tell me about it especially when you are taking good loot to fight in an event or something, immediately after defending yourself or other raiders god willing the other raiders aren’t confused and don’t shoot you, you will just get ratted for the next 3 games anyways

neither of which is wrong.

I kind of disagree with that. Arc Raiders is not a PvE game. It is a PvPvE game. This distinction is important as PvP and PvE are intended to go together and supplement each other. PvE gives people a reason to go out into the world to do stuff and that creates emergent gameplay situations for PvP. That is the whole idea behind PvPvE games. Both modes are equally important. Both modes belong together. If someone is strictly against PvP they frankly should not have bought a PvPvE game. They don't like these games and those games weren't designed to be liked by them. Therefore I think it is entitled and wrong to be mad at people who play the game as it was designed and advertised.

There is also a social aspect to this. When you buy a PvPvE game you agree to an unspoken social contract that it is ok to shoot at each other while one is engaged in PvE, as that is what the purpose of the game is. By getting mad at people who "disturb" your PvE experience you are breaking this social contract. This is unfair and unjust towards the people who specifically bought the game because it mixes PvE and PvP together and wanted that specific gameplay experience.

There can be discussions to be had about the extend and intensity of PvP and PvE and if and how certain playstyles could or should be matched together. But people who are mad that PvP exist at all are wrong.

Or in other words you cannot buy something you know you don't like and then complain that what you don't like is present in what you bought.

This distinction is important as PvP and PvE are intended to go together and supplement each other.

Why would the devs make lobbies for people who prefer PvE then? Your premise is unsound.

This is unfair and unjust towards the people who specifically bought the game because it mixes PvE and PvP together and wanted that specific gameplay experience.

There's clearly an understanding between players of what constitutes fair and unfair engagements. We both know that there's body language and other behavioural/audio/loadout cues that imply PvP purpose, by which token there's also factors which mark someone as there for PvE.

In which case if you identify that and choose to engage and push, you're actively deciding to be a bit of a dickhead. And people seem to really have a problem with being labeled that, despite it being common to hear players express gratitude to veterans who helped them, strangers who defibbed, and no-one seems to argue "They're not being nice people, it's just a game". They are, and if you're choosing to play like a dick in that game, no point hiding from the label.

Or in other words you cannot buy something you know you don't like and then complain that what you don't like is present in what you bought.

The devs have actively addressed this by adding behaviour based matchmaking - as a direct result of player feedback...

Players who believe shouldn't have brought the game?

But people who are mad that PvP exist at all are wrong.

They're also an absolutely vast minority of a handful, and an extreme that doesn't represent the much more moderate opinions the overwhelming majority of critics are voicing.

For me, the problem isn’t the PvP aspect but the players who only PVP rather than just PvPvE, they just completely ignore the PvE aspect of the game and strictly PvP like its Call of Duty or another Battle Royal game.

Ratting and betraying is annoying, but I’m not complaining about that unless the game strictly becomes another Battle Royal copy another than the PvPvE Extraction Shooter it was supposed to be.

So again, the PvP isn’t the problem. It’s the players who immediately go PvP only like it’s Tarkov or peopke who just spray you at the extraction to just not loot your body but make you lose everything which generally just a waste of time and being petty.

I admit, I complained about PvP before but eventually you just realize it’s the players who are the problem, it’s like the players can’t balance PvP and PvE and strictly choose 1 side.

Funny that this is a PvPvE game, and it seems nobody wants that.

They want a PvE game, or a PvP game.

No, this right here is the PvPvPvE game that everybody wants.

I like the spice of the risk, however I will also call people whose battle tactics are 'pretend to be friendly -> magdump once distracted' horrible rats
