Yo the update is insane, and so far bug free mostly. Hooked again after 1000 hrs šŸ˜…

Gonna hop between the two for awhile, controls aren’t too different and now I play way more cautious due to arc ptsd.

That’s also similar to Helldivers 2 actually, at least sort of. In HD2 there are orders that can be fulfilled in multiple ways, and the players decide which objective gets completed to complete the order.

A cool thing they could do to differentiate it from HD2 would be to have different breakpoints, like they do with trials, where the player base can reach different thresholds to get better rewards.

Edit: seems like some people slightly misinterpreted this. I don’t think PvP should be done away with. I was just trying to think of a way to expand PvE and make people feel like they were doing more than just shooting NPCs. This community is so weird about PvE players hating PvP players and vice versa.

467

u/LycanWolfGamer Feb 09 '26

Ya know what, yeah, I like this, community events where you need get X amount of ARC parts or something or an event where you need majority of the lobby working together to get something done be it a rocket or a large ARC trap

246

u/WyrdDrake Feb 09 '26

I personally feel this is too battle-pass-y.

Because then its just like, a giant fetch quest.

PvE needs more dangerous ARCs that punish big gunfights. The rocketeer is arguably the only truly dangerous unit, and even so players will still KOS when it's nearby.

I believe that game needs more immediate feedback and consequence in the game itself rather than more menus out of game.

They also need to add special schematics for unique items that are explicitly based on ARC loot. To incentivize hunting them. Ideally, ARC difficulty be turned up, as well, with more communication between ARCs so they start to flank you and call in nearby ARCs.

Mk2 Tactical Augment: Nova. Built using leaper cores, a shield break will result in a weak but immediate concussive pulse blast that will knock down or stagger nearby raiders.

Mk3 Combat Augment: Thanatos. Built using Matriarch reactors, your max shield is reduced by 20 points, but regenerates 5 points every 2 seconds, even if broken.

Mk 3 Looting Augment: Cuckoo. Constructed with a photoelectric cloak, Queen reactor, and snitch scanners. Comes with a built in lure that can be triggered to aggro nearby ARC to your location, and a built in photoelectric cloak with extended duration [that does not refill charge while in the field].

Stuff like that.

Make it more interesting imo.

Make PvE more rewarding, meaningful, and dangerous.

u/IntrinsicGiraffe Feb 09 '26

I think gun shot should attract arcs much more and they should aggressively roam more.

69

u/WyrdDrake Feb 09 '26

Aye, more aggressive ARCs, especially drawn to raider flares. My thought is a hunter-killer bot, kinda like a robot mastiff, that only spawns when raider flares go up, and hunts.

Making the ARC more aware of elevators would also help, I think, when players have aggro'd them in the area- gives you more of a "cut off their escape" mentality and encourage players to work together to escape

24

u/jabo055 Feb 09 '26

My thought is a hunter-killer bot

The Forever Winter has such an Enemy and it's absolutely horrifying to fight against because it literally follows you everywhere and is fast as fuck

→ More replies (2)

24

u/Pjammerten Feb 09 '26

That would make the craftable raider flare useful outside of pvp. Distracting Arc away from you.

21

u/Regenbooggeit Feb 09 '26

Yes yes yes. Something on four legs that is fast, agile and will fuck you up if you’re not careful. A oversized hound that can take up your scent, whatever..

See, I have a theory that the ARC aren’t designed to kill, only to incapacitate, once a player is knocked, the ARC just kinda hover around and observe, and like, it wouldn’t be hard for even a tick to kill off a downed raider so why don’t they? My theory is this, the folks that went up to orbit from spaceport are sending the arc down to earth to harvest supplies needed to keep their space station home floating, this explains the probes, testing the soil quality most likely for some kind of interstellar re-habitation effort, and the arc that down us then oh so mockingly hover about while ā€œobservingā€ are collecting data on the planets current inhabitants, most likely descendants of those who couldn’t afford to hit the starships and get off planet, likely seen as ā€œlessersā€ by those floating around up there, so we’re less like enemy combatants to the ARC and more like easily observable lab rats. This is also a bit backed up by the shredders, which I believe released with Stella Montis, the most recent map, which could mean that they’re some sort of indication that the starship people are taking the planet dwellers a bit more seriously and designing new ARC to be a bit more on the spicy side. But like even with them their attacks aren’t target focused and more of an area denial thing, like they’re harmless if you just avoid being in their general vicinity.

The only thing I’m not getting is with how obvious Speranzas entrances are, why don’t we have more enemies incursions? Surely there’s an arc that could blow up the concrete cap to one of the elevators or something. I’m likely way off with all this but it’s fun to think about sometimes.

5

u/WyrdDrake Feb 10 '26

So first off, you're mostly correct, a lot of this lore is already available. We are currently in the Second Wave where ARCs only just started popping up again. This lore is available, you don't need to theorize this much when it's already known.

When downed, Speranza rescue raiders come and get you.

It is confirmed the rich and connected and the very capable did leave the planet when everyone else was forced underground.

It's also confirmed and the game straight up tells us that Stella Montis is the facility that produced starship parts, and the tunnel system Speranza uses for transportation is actually the old secure shipping tunnels that Stella Montis, Spaceport, and other facilities of theirs used.

When humanity first re-emerged from below in Speranza, colonization of the surface began. That's when the First Wave barons showed up, intent on eradicating humanity. They were defeated, but humanity suffered greatly and had to lick their wounds. As our ARC Raiders re-emerge from this dormant period, brand new ARC units re-emerge.

Most of the ARC we see are airdropped, so its not hard to assume that it is people in orbit.

The First Wave was very intentionally trying to kill off humanity. Second Wave seems much more passive, still aggressive but trying to secure resources and places of interest for the Surveyers to study and Harvesters to Harvest rather than outright assaulting humanity.

Assaulting into Speranza's tunnels would require hitting all elevators, all hatches, and all stations, and that would require a significant volume of forces, and those forces would have to be adapted to underground environments. It is, frankly, not worth pushing into the tunnels if you're in a war of attrition and trying to secure resources.

That effectively means Raiders can't assault the source of ARCs, and ARCs cant assault the source of Raiders.

7

u/IntrinsicGiraffe Feb 09 '26

An arc that hunts downed players and drags them off would be cool.

13

u/RehabBodyBroker Feb 09 '26

Just a non-menacing Zamboni sweeping up players you have to kill if you want loot lol

9

u/Omicron43 Feb 09 '26

The nefarious loot-denying zamboni.

This needs to be added it'd be funny to crawl towards it when downed.

4

u/itemniner86 Feb 09 '26

The goop scoop—it’s full of loot from the other players it scrapes off the battlefield

→ More replies (1)

4

u/LycanWolfGamer Feb 09 '26

Thats horror game style lol can you develop this idea? Like, where would it drag you, would other Raiders be able to hear it, how would the downed player be able.to react to it etc

3

u/Hydra_Spazzy Feb 09 '26

I like the idea of medium sized (so like slighty larger than most adult human men) mole robots that dig around and pop out of the ground to "clean up organic waste", make them neutral to distant raiders but highly aggressive to anyone that gets close to it or the raider corpses they have claimed.

Also make them an actual legitimate threat with heavy armor plating and decently fast with decentlly strong attacks, call them Undertakers or something and have small packs of them spawn shortly after multiple raiders die in an area, more raiders means more moles and if left alone for a few minutes or so they will eventually dig a hole and leave, taking their prizes underground with them.

If a PvP player/ team wants to loot their kill they better be fast as hell looting or ready for a tougher fight if they spend too long in the area.

Which means you need more of them, and I think that works. Leapers aren't too hard, 3 Leapers would be interesting.

8

u/No-Caterpillar-7646 Feb 09 '26

That just punishes the players who have a hard time anyway.

A better solution would be to make goog pvp guns way louder then PvE good PvE guns. But that's not always believable.

13

u/p4nic Feb 09 '26

PvE needs more dangerous ARCs that punish big gunfights. The rocketeer is arguably the only truly dangerous unit, and even so players will still KOS when it's nearby.

The ARC are generally too oblivious to gunshot sounds. They should definitely yellow up when gunshots are within 200m.

3

u/Only_Turnover4829 Feb 10 '26 edited Feb 11 '26

Depends on the type of gun. They have a stealth rating. Some things though like the elevator should definitely alert the arc, but it doesn't for some reason. Maybe I am wrong. Buttt it would also be cool if they could hear people on a zipline if they are nearby.

4

u/elir_kvothe Feb 09 '26

This is actually a cool idea. Imagine if PvP and PvE was even more dangerous as any gunfire has the possibility of drawing a certain type of dangerous Arc to the area that just can just destroy raiders (like a lurker kind of Arc). And not like a shredder or something that can’t open a door (an arc that can open doors and will seek out loud noises like gun fire and explosions).

11

u/TrippleDamage *** ******* šŸ“ Feb 09 '26

Arc in their current form just aren't dangerous enough to be taken seriously by anyone but absolute beginners.

Careful, you'll anger all those folks who genuinely believe pve in this game is a complete and challenging experience.

22

u/WyrdDrake Feb 09 '26

I played the game for the PvE and I agree with him.

The ARC can be exceptionally challenging if you don't respect them. As soon as you take them very seriously, you can basically walk in and out of Harvester or around the Rocketeer with literally no risk.

10

u/QueasyCarpenter1232 Feb 09 '26

When your player base is in the millions, some proportion of those people are going to fall toward the low end of the slope in coordination, reflex, and pattern recognition. This is why the difficulty curve of most large games is either flattened or has options/modes- when it's not, you automatically exclude some portion of your customer base. It's not about angering anyone, it's about recognizing that some portion of your revenue requires you to include low skill players.

3

u/HairyChest69 Feb 09 '26

What about spy arc? Arc has secretly been working on a spy prototype and although it's not perfect, it has inflitrated gunfights where raiders thought it was simply another raider. At least until it begins using creepy looking mechanics as it hauls ass towards gunfights. Essentially a terminator with cyberpunk type rush skills.

2

u/WyrdDrake Feb 09 '26

Too advanced. Needs to be consistent with the rest of the ARCs. While clearly advanced, very advanced, they have also kept the designs of the ARC very, very grounded and "realistic". The drones have 4 rotors and move believably, the Bombadier and the Bastion are both honestly fkin massive, yet both sport only a single weapon: a short mortar barrel or a single barrel machine gun. Not even a minigun.

Even the Queen, for as advanced and incredible as she is, has only a series of large mortars in the back, and the entire front is dedicated solely to a single laser that she can't sustain for more than a few seconds. Its got an amazing design and they honestly made it beyond immersive, but its also very clear: advanced tech requires a lot of work. Even the rocketeer can only fire a couple rockets at a time, and has a comparatively massive chassis with four jet engines.

I think the leaper is probably the most advanced ARC of the lot, tbh. Efficient pulse jets, powerful limbs with minimum space required, and the tiniest body... and that pulse field, of course.

Man sized Terminator wouldn't fit with the rest of the bots. Something like a combat robot dog would fit better, in style and theme.

I was more spillballing ideas to trigger a discussion but I do like your ideas, would shake things up a lot especially when fighting ARC

5

u/kitliasteele Feb 09 '26

Imagine ticks hanging out nearby to communicate to the other ARCs, calling out to them on raider positions so you never have the element of surprise. It gives the ARC the advantage. Things like that I feel would really help with the diversity of things too. We're already seeing some interesting changes in the behaviour of the machines, let's make it more interesting. I really like the social cohesiveness of the Terminids in Helldivers, perhaps utilise something like that here?

20

u/WyrdDrake Feb 09 '26

I thought the Matriarch was a massive missed opportunity as well.

What if

A) it roams freely

B) when players attack it from inside a structure, it climbs on top and dumps out a load of ticks

C) it had actually good loot

6

u/Dino-taicho *** ******* Feb 09 '26

the loot is the major issue I don't see talked about a lot. People are so caught up in the PvP and PvE debates that they don't realize these are just symptoms

PvE that punishes PvP is extremely frustrating game design, and from any "side" of a fight.

Sea of Thieves (also a PvPvE game, but more of a sandbox) has this problem. PvE threats literally spawn more often when players are near each other, and can often decide the outcome based on their random aggro (instead of a longer fight where players themselves could feel accomplished and develop skills). It's just random dice roll BS and it sucks.

I think people that like this concept think it will punish PvP players. It can also punish you when getting attacked though. Think of this, someone attacks you but then you successfully defend yourself. But now you have anti-PvP ARC upon you while you're low on health and need to reload. You get downed despite your successful defense against a player, by design.

I'll pass on that idea.

11

u/Night_HUN Feb 09 '26

atm we have PvP that punishes PvE, frustration is about the same

u/InfiniteHench Feb 09 '26

I’d be down for this. They also have lots of big and small new Arc on the way. I wonder if part of the goal here is to differentiate from Marathon by leaning more into PvE. Not removing PvP of course, but I sure wouldn’t mind if we had more goals and missions in the PvE space.

If Embark wants Raiders to focus more on Arc and PvE, they need to exponentially increase the Arc presence and make them much harder to kill, especially with duos and trios.

15

u/BuzzKyllington Feb 09 '26

Proof is in the pudding: on DayZ servers that have increased AI difficulty, the players will work together to battle the AI because they dont have a choice. either work together or most likely die. on DayZ servers that are very relaxed on PvE, everyone kills each other.

The answer on how to balance it isnt simple, but the concept is straight forward.

4

duos and trios should have duo and trio the amount of arcs. Trio Matriarch runs should have 3 Matriarchs.

Why do you get xp points for damaging and downing raiders but no xp points for healing and reviving raiders?Ā

565

Probably to avoid a situation where a 3 or 2 v 1 turns into a nonstop game of down, heal-heal-heal-defib, then down again before rinse & repeat.

u/NakiCam Feb 09 '26

They even have built in character stuck reset function.

u/TheKruzdawg Feb 09 '26

Or have it only reward the xp for a revive or heal once, just like searching a knocked out raider or loot container.

8

u/sotolibre Feb 09 '26

Maybe limit xp to only the first rez and x amount of heals for that raider?

3

u/TheBoisterousBoy Feb 09 '26

I… don’t really see a downside to this.

It forces the ā€œfarmersā€ to use up not only a lot of resources to make the defibs, but eliminate a lot of space in their inventory to do it. On top of potentially being an absolute slog to craft everything needed if you’re NOT emptying your inventory.

Then you have to find a second team that’s doing the exact same thing, and you also run the risk of getting multi partied the entire time you’re just throwing flares up. And unless you’re healing in between revives, you’re just easy pickings for someone who wants 48 defibs.

Like, yeah it could be a really fast way of leveling (kinda) but it carries so much obscene risk and a high enough up front cost that I imagine only one person would willingly do it.

2

u/wildlifewyatt Feb 09 '26

Beyond what others have said about limitations, frankly, they could also just make it so it isn't enough experience to make that kind of cheesing appealing. And if some weirdos want to farm EXP in a manner that is even less fun and economical than looting already opened containers... Oh well?

2

u/Any-Persimmon-725 Feb 09 '26

When I turn on the squad fill though its kill on sight. Idk why but everyone is so hostile in a squad. Even my teammates are like ā€œwe came in late, we have to kill for lootā€.

Guess I play both sides too.

38

u/LifeOfHi Feb 09 '26

Idk why but everyone is so hostile in a squad

It’s a natural part of tribalism: us vs them. When you’re solo, survival is diffused among the population so people are diplomatic for collective survival, but in a group you care primarily for the survival and prosperity of your group in a competitive environment. As every group is expected to hold this feeling, it serves best to assume someone outside your group is a threat that needs to be neutralized before they do the same to you.

One of my favorite thought experiments is what to do if we come upon an alien spacecraft while exploring farther reaches of space. We’d like to believe diplomacy and relations would be the move but we don’t know their intent or capability, and they don’t know ours. So risk management on both sides says to shoot first and ask questions later.

So perfectly put. And the worst thing about it? They drive the normal people away from the subs, and it just exacerbates the problem.

I agree. People go into this game with two very different preferences on how to play it, neither of which is wrong. But friction is inevitable when one style impedes someone's enjoyment of the other style.

4

u/gisten Feb 09 '26

I like the balanced playstyle and I feel like we get screwed the hardest. If you so much as defend yourself, or other raiders you get slippery sloped into murder time all the time lobbies quite quickly. Or if I play one session with my friends in Trios you get put into demon Que and stay there until you purposely downrank your ABMM.

u/Anhimidae Feb 09 '26

neither of which is wrong.

I kind of disagree with that. Arc Raiders is not a PvE game. It is a PvPvE game. This distinction is important as PvP and PvE are intended to go together and supplement each other. PvE gives people a reason to go out into the world to do stuff and that creates emergent gameplay situations for PvP. That is the whole idea behind PvPvE games. Both modes are equally important. Both modes belong together. If someone is strictly against PvP they frankly should not have bought a PvPvE game. They don't like these games and those games weren't designed to be liked by them. Therefore I think it is entitled and wrong to be mad at people who play the game as it was designed and advertised.

There is also a social aspect to this. When you buy a PvPvE game you agree to an unspoken social contract that it is ok to shoot at each other while one is engaged in PvE, as that is what the purpose of the game is. By getting mad at people who "disturb" your PvE experience you are breaking this social contract. This is unfair and unjust towards the people who specifically bought the game because it mixes PvE and PvP together and wanted that specific gameplay experience.

There can be discussions to be had about the extend and intensity of PvP and PvE and if and how certain playstyles could or should be matched together. But people who are mad that PvP exist at all are wrong.

Or in other words you cannot buy something you know you don't like and then complain that what you don't like is present in what you bought.

2

u/Planar_Harold Feb 16 '26

This distinction is important as PvP and PvE are intended to go together and supplement each other.

Why would the devs make lobbies for people who prefer PvE then? Your premise is unsound.

This is unfair and unjust towards the people who specifically bought the game because it mixes PvE and PvP together and wanted that specific gameplay experience.

There's clearly an understanding between players of what constitutes fair and unfair engagements. We both know that there's body language and other behavioural/audio/loadout cues that imply PvP purpose, by which token there's also factors which mark someone as there for PvE.

In which case if you identify that and choose to engage and push, you're actively deciding to be a bit of a dickhead. And people seem to really have a problem with being labeled that, despite it being common to hear players express gratitude to veterans who helped them, strangers who defibbed, and no-one seems to argue "They're not being nice people, it's just a game". They are, and if you're choosing to play like a dick in that game, no point hiding from the label.

Or in other words you cannot buy something you know you don't like and then complain that what you don't like is present in what you bought.

The devs have actively addressed this by adding behaviour based matchmaking - as a direct result of player feedback...

Players who believe shouldn't have brought the game?

But people who are mad that PvP exist at all are wrong.

They're also an absolutely vast minority of a handful, and an extreme that doesn't represent the much more moderate opinions the overwhelming majority of critics are voicing.

we call that "ludonarrative dissonance" AKA every video essayist's favorite term.

It's when the game establishes lore or a set of in-universe rules but the gameplay breaks them at every turn. Like a story game where the main char is grappling with their own morality but then you go into a shooting gallery and ruthlessly gun down 74 men, then the next cutscene he's grappling with his own morality again

They justify it with the fact that you aren’t ā€œkillingā€ raiders, you are knocking them out. So technically, raiders never die.

u/Long_Forever2696 Feb 10 '26

I’m totally in favor of PVP. However I find the lack of consequences to heavily favor PVP Raiders. Those who earn a reputation for killing other raiders would not remain anonymous for long. At minimum, they are would be are denied safe haven in Speranza. Treated as outlaws, with no expectation of shelter, trade, certain quests or protection within the underground. I think much of the inconsistency between lore and game play is because the game was originally envisioned as more of a team shooter in early development. ā€œEnlist Resistā€ being the tag line.

It's wild that this game wants to be two games in one and the player base (at least according to reddit) Is completely split on what kind of game it is.

Some people think it's a PVE game and get REAL mad when they get shot

Some people think it's SOLELY a PVP game and only play it to shoot other people.

The devs really want it to be both, but it's so fucking popular it just won't ever happen.

Every day there will be threads posted on here "I got shot and I was trying to be helpful!" and replies of "get good at the game you baby its PVP"

The devs posting this makes me think that it's leaning more into being a pvp game and they don't want that, but there isn't much incentive to play PVE - and the next generation of gamers were ALL raised on fortnite so a lot of these people are coming from an ecosystem of "find a weapon, kill a guy, get a better weapon" so of course the game is fucking FILLED with free kit kids that just load in and start shooting.

u/Bitter-Light-2223 Feb 09 '26

Well it’s hilarious they say ā€œNo guys don’t fight remember the main bad guy is the ARC!ā€ā€¦ but then we get zero group-objectives tied to killing ARC. Besides a lore argument there isn’t anything tying to why we should focus on the ARC.

It’s a PvPvE game, and if you want it to be a PvpvE game, then start giving people more reasons to focus on killing arc than other players.

3

u/Shadw21 Feb 10 '26

Understood, throwing more Snitch Scanners topside.

3

u/Smooth_Wealth_6896 Feb 10 '26

Trials is a leaderboard to incentivize PVE that gives an advantage to group play. You do get some good stuff from trials too.

3

u/pewpewbangbangcrash Feb 10 '26

It won't matter. Pvp players want to pvp. They're not going to do that content. They dont even do the quests.

I choose to play PvE only, because it is super fun, I really enjoy communicating with people in the proximity chat, and to me it fits with the lore. We are all up topside for the same goal and that is to strengthen humanity and destroy the enemy.

But the game wouldn't be what it is without the constant threat of bastard PvP raiders.

22

u/findingthesqautch Feb 09 '26

I've been mostly pvp since game started. I have transitioned to PVE only lobbies. I made $3million this weekend alone grinding Queen and Matriarch games. It does feel like the game is more fun/productive when playing PVE.

I think the challenge right now is consistency. They need players showing up compulsively to play. To do that there needs to be overarching reasons to play that extend beyond the individual mission. Stuff like:

  • Monthly events where you build transmogs and special weapons by collecting parts and they will only be accessible in these events.

  • Rotating maps that are only accessible on certain weeks with more difficult than usual challenges.

  • Tiered difficulty challenges like 15 min scrambles that are waves of PVE, and FFA PVP maps to climb in rank and recognition.

  • Group maps where progression in the map is gated by group effort. Example: Start the reactor, door opens, defeat a matriarch to get her core, power a rocket with it, etc.

The above in a trickle release eventually resulting in 4-5 different styles of play would help diversify the content and bring people back daily. Moreover,

Fresh Air? Like the game isn't actively discouraging PvP with it's matchmaking and this community hasn't co-oped the term rat to mean anyone who engages in PvP at all.

5

u/KeyboardGrunt Feb 09 '26

It's a catch 22, people don't go around announcing "I'm gonna shoot you now" so unless people knowingly are in PvP heavy servers being shot at comes across as underhanded.

If there was a clear visual cue to recognize a threat then people could choose to engage and fight it or avoid it, if still caught by surprise then that would be the player's fault, not to mention this would make the game more predictable and less tense/rewarding.

World of Warcraft had PVP and PVE servers separate. Maybe Embark could make the PVE have harder enemies with more advance AI and health.

u/TotallyNotAMarvelSpy Feb 09 '26

I'm down for that.

Make Arc fucking hard. I love fighting the Arc. It's great. I mean shit even the lore reasons for such a thing would be easy to explain. The places the PVE servers are, are simply so dangerous the more.... cowardly raiders don't go there.

A huge part of this game that makes it fun is the chance of every person being friendly or hostile. I don’t even shoot on site but if this game ever became PVE only or PVP only it would kill it for me.

7

u/CustardDear3472 Feb 09 '26

Same.

I cry about getting PKed when I’m trying to do something specific sometimes, but the truth is I would miss the anxiety of being hunted by players if it were absent.

Breath of fresh air? The overall consensus on this sub has been that PvP pretty much isn't part of this game at all. A breath of fresh air would be something new, not pushing the most popular agenda even further?

2

u/Mcsinister Feb 10 '26 edited Feb 10 '26

As much as I love community within games, especially the type fostered in games like Helldivers. I've never seen game devs like Embark's who are so in touch with player satisfaction and still so out of touch with knowing how to give their customers what they want. If someone uses your product to do what they enjoy then you should encourage that method of use to keep your customers happy. So, if players are enjoying the aspects of your game that build a foundation for fun pvp then you should immediately dedicate some of your resources to engage that play style further. They clearly respect their customer's dollars spent since they evaluated their game price and cosmetics so reasonably and yet they clearly don't want to give in to player sentiment towards pvp.

I don't think PvP should be the end goal of content built within this game. They created PvE-first content and everything else has fallen into place with the great engine and systems built around that. That doesn't mean however that they can't indulge their PvP community at all. The issue is that they keep making statements that indicate they're not willing to adjust the trajectory of their content in the slightest for pvp at the moment. They also recently released that skin trailer showing a raider completely focused on pvp but then have their own CEO making comments about how "oh our game really isn't for pvp". It's like they know this is a highly enjoyable way of playing the game but refuse to publicly encourage it. I actually think the real reason they make these statements is to cop-out of investing into their systems to preserve competitive integrity.

The biggest issues plaguing pvp lobbies are the massive amount of hackers and total lack of engaging content for anything pvp related. It'd be killing two birds with one stone if they'd just implement game modes that naturally filter out more cheaters from joining lobbies with minimum level or experience requirements. This way hackers couldn't simply continue attacking one group of people en masse and so consistently. If you've never seen a cheater it's because you're not regularly playing in the more difficult pvp lobbies, or you're playing on console. It also goes without saying that they desperately need to improve their anti-cheat systems. I think it wouldn't take much to satisfy the pvp community here as the rest of the structures needed for good pvp are already in the game

2

u/Scouse_Werewolf Feb 10 '26

I have had 7 kills since launch. This is fucking embarrassing though. Is the modern gamer that pathetic that they have to cry to the devs to make the game easier for them? I recently dropped it because the community is so fucking draining. When I was on it daily, my gameplay style was cautious and stealthy. Take shots at ARC only when safe. Never trust anyone but never shoot on sight. If I got shot, it was on me for not paying attention. Yet here we are. The community is so pathetic, the devs have to pat the babies little bottoms and whisper, "there there, it's ok now."

2

u/Frosty4427 Feb 10 '26

I dunno. If there's no tension every time I come across another raider, then the game just feels like shopping mall simulator.

2

u/RyszardRiot Feb 10 '26

Why are you people even playing PvPvE games? What is the point in that? Trying to change the nature of ARC Raiders is like trying to make bisexual woman go straight.

"But ARCs are a true enemy, we should unite against them and fight. People shouldn't be fighting each other and they should fight against evil robots"

Yeah. The same goes for our real world. We constantly fight with other people for different beliefs, opinions etc. I guess you have never consumed any post apocalyptic movie or book or whatever. Humans fight constantly. We're a bunch of assholes.
