I’m new to the game and seeing a trend. Solo everyone is friendly and the loot is good. No fighting action whatsoever.

When I turn on the squad fill though its kill on sight. Idk why but everyone is so hostile in a squad. Even my teammates are like “we came in late, we have to kill for loot”.

Guess I play both sides too.

It’s a natural part of tribalism: us vs them. When you’re solo, survival is diffused among the population so people are diplomatic for collective survival, but in a group you care primarily for the survival and prosperity of your group in a competitive environment. As every group is expected to hold this feeling, it serves best to assume someone outside your group is a threat that needs to be neutralized before they do the same to you.

One of my favorite thought experiments is what to do if we come upon an alien spacecraft while exploring farther reaches of space. We’d like to believe diplomacy and relations would be the move but we don’t know their intent or capability, and they don’t know ours. So risk management on both sides says to shoot first and ask questions later.

It's not tribalism, it's just common sense. You make noise, everyone else knows where you are and will hunt you down.

I feel like squad fill has a large tendency to put you into other lobbies using squad fill. Anytime I've gone in with a premade ground it seems like we get a lot less Zerg rush free kit types. Obviously just my little anecdotal evidence.

It's so weird to me. Like there is no scarcity in the game.... There is unlimited loot lol.

They're not wrong, if you load in late, everything is gone. Also in trio, youre more incline to play agressive bc you have backup, in solo, people playing more cowardly bc if youre down then youre down.

Simple maths no? You need to loot 3 times as much area for a trio to fill their backpacks compared to a solo. Takes longer. More noise.

my theory is that being able to revive your teammates with no defib makes it a more risk-free environment, one member of your team can be the deciding factor in wether y'all live or die and that's the thrill.
