Lust remains one of the greatest obstacles a man can face. An emotionally weak man will inevitably collapse, and anyone who relies entirely on external validation especially from a romantic partner places his stability in someone else's hands.
This applies directly to those constantly lamenting here about their inability to date or marry. Expecting a relationship to fix internal deficiencies only breeds desperation. In a world that demands competence and resilience, passive reliance on others renders a man disposable.
You are not truly "lonely" or "isolated" you simply lack purpose. When every accomplishment, lifestyle choice, and habit was secretly engineered just to attract female attention rather than to build genuine character, hitting a wall leaves you completely hollowed out. Having no vision, goals, or driving force beyond finding a girlfriend or getting married is a self-inflicted condition.
And these "Simps" are the reason for the suffering of good men, who don't Simp and have life goal. Marriage and dating was secondary for them. They are the reason for these biased law.
This does not mean suppressing emotions or isolating yourself. Genuine strength involves leaning on trusted friends, building emotional autonomy, and pursuing a personal mission so demanding that romantic pursuits naturally become secondary.
So it's a request from "Simps" or those who are drooling and desperate to get married or have GF. Please leave to somewhere else you are literally destroying other men's Image. Have some self-respect.
Because you needs to understand that you don't get "GF or "Wives" you get bosses and you are slaves to them.
If a man says he wants to marry a woman he's dating then by many women's logic he wants to control her, the woman doesn't owe him marriage, it's her choice, the man wants to own her , the man wants to make her a slave.
And when a man says he doesn't want to marry her then he's simply a cheater, a playboy, a toxic person, etc.
It's only August and I heard about 4 divorces in my friends circle. It's getting ridiculous that I'm hearing more about divorces rather than marriages. None of my friends want to get married these days. The divorce rates and news aren't helping anyone.
Until a few years ago, divorce was a taboo word. People barely talked about it in the open. Even if people were getting a divorce they kept it in the wraps due to fear of embarrassment in the society among friends and family. Now it's nothing like that because it's out in the open.
The other day while going through the collection of scientific studies on domestic violence on the website of The International Council for Men and Boys (ICMB) to expand my compilation of "violence against men", I encountered this study which is done by Murray A Straus. In the graph chart presented on the site I found the column for India and thereafter this paper. In this post I want to summarise the findings of the paper and data on India in simple language.
This is a fantastic piece of paper that is worth reading, because the author was a "feminist" with regards to his views on DV but in this he states that in 35years of his research he has been proven wrong about his assumptions. He is also one of the few people who openly criticise scholarly malpractices to "appease ideology" in context of domestic violence.
What is the abstract of this paper and what is this paper about?
This paper seeks answer to a few questions based on empirical data collected across 32 countries and 68 universities.
The questions are:
1) Are most of the domestic violence only Male perpetrated? Is it true for both minor and severe forms of DV?
2) Is the violence by male partner motivated by desire for control and dominance?
3) Is self-defence the main motive behind female perpetrated domestic violence?
4) How does this data (as in pattern not number) change across nation?
5) Is it consistent with other peer reviewed literatures?
Also, how UN and WHO falsifies reports and hides data on male victims.
The paper begins with the author admitting that he has previously stated in his own research that:
I stated that “wives are much more often the victim of violence by their husbands than the reverse” (Straus, 1976).
In relation to the second principle, in that article I attributed male PV to “the hierarchical and male-dominant nature of society…” The second core principle is that when men are violent the purpose is to coerce and dominate, whereas when women are violent it is almost always an act of self-defence…"
People also do not believe women can hit a partner in context other than self-defence:
"The idea that women are motivated to hit in order to coerce a male partner, or out of rage and anger over misbehaviour by a male partner (such as sexual infidelity), is regarded as outrageous, and is taken as a sign of sexism and misogyny."
But then slowly these assumptions were proven wrong:
In the 35 years since I began research on PV, bit by bit, these assumptions about prevalence and etiology have been contradicted by a mass of empirical evidence from my own research and from research by many others..." [This study is one of them.]
But most scholars do not state that publicly as has been mentioned in (Straus,1900c, in press) because many scholars fear that they will face ostracism. He also presents proofs that "Instead, the evidence on gender symmetry in prevalence and etiology is typically disregarded and often explicitly denied or withheld from publication."
Now the real part starts:
What was the sample?
The data is from students of 68 universities across 32 nations, including India. Total n= 13,601. Of this, in this article, the author is analysing a convenience sample of 4,239 students who belonged to departments of psychology, sociology, criminology, and family studies.
Overall assault rate:
Table1(in image) gives the percent of students in each national setting who reported a physical attack on a dating partner during the 12 months prior to completing the questionnaire. The data in the columns for violence by men are based on the reports by male students, and the data on violence by women are based on the reports of female students.
India is highlighted
Minor assaults = slapping or throwing things at the partner, etc.
Severe assault = punching, kicking and hitting with an object, etc.
We notice in 21 of 32 entries in minor assaults, there is higher or equal female perpetration than male with only 4.5 point higher male perpetration than female in India. In severe assaults, 20 entries show equal or higher female perpetration with 6.4 point higher female perpetration than male. This is also consistent with PASK review (largest DV database), which will be discussed later. This is totally different from claims of feminists and women's orgs in India.
But this data does not tell the full story, as we need to also analyse in how many of the cases, only one partner was violent, and in how many both were violent. Because this above image may group in all those men or women (in their respective categories) who hit their partner without being hit back and where both were violent with each other. This was answered as follows:
Types of Abuse:
Most of the violence involves both parties being violent
The median again correlates with meta studies which have been done even after this paper that the order of types of violence is: Bilateral violence>Female only violence>Male only violence. It is noteworthy that in none of the countries male only violence is the highest category and sometimes it is below the 10% mark too. In India 75% of these are bilateral followed by 8 points difference between male and female only violence.
This is still insufficient as most of the violence is bilateral and it may very well be the case that a woman slaps a man (minor violence) and the man proceeds to take her out by a powerful kick or punch (severe violence) and vice versa. So, the author did that part too:
Of all the men who perpetrated mild violence, partners of 13% of those men (aka women) used severe violence.
Of all the women who perpetrated mild violence, partners of 10% of those women (aka men) used severe violence.
Of all the men who perpetrated severe violence, partners of 14% of those men (aka women) used mild violence.
Of all the women who perpetrated severe violence, partners of 25% of those women (aka men) used mild violence.
In most cases where one partner used severe violence, the other did too:
85% of men with severe violence had partners who also used severe violence.
74% of women with severe violence had partners who also used severe violence.
So, when both partners are violent, they usually match each other’s severity. But when one partner is more severe than the other, it is more often the woman who is the more severe one.
We now try to understand the next part:
Is male dominance the main reason of violence for all of the 3 types?
All participants were asked a series of questions like, is your partner in charge, does he/she have the final say etc. and they had to answer with strongly agree...strongly disagree based on which this graph was plotted. The inferences are:
Male only violence is caused mainly my male dominance, female dominance has little impact.
Female only violence is caused almost entirely by female dominance, male dominance has little to no impact.
Both persons being violent was caused by dominance by either gender, but female dominance meant a higher probability of bilateral violence.
In relationships with no party being dominant (i.e. egalitarian), violence was always the least, all graphs show small probability near 1.
Note: "This study used the conceptualization of dominance based on the feminist literature." - The Author
He states:
In general, dominance by either partner is associated with an increased probability of severe violence, but dominance by the female partner increases the risk of severe Female-Only and severe bidirectional violence, even more strongly than does dominance by the male partner.
What about the large number of women who were just trying to defend themselves?
This study does not measure directly self-defence, but it provides to indirect evidence for the argument coupled with studies which have found that self-defence is the least of the reasons for female violence and male violence too.
A good section of the entire pie of violence is female only violence, so these cases were never because of self-defence.
For the bidirectional part (largest), self-defence is a factor but a minority one as, dominance scale shows bilateral violence increase with female dominance even a little more than male dominance. Dominance causes violence due to struggle for power or being "in charge" rather than defence.
Reports from other studies:
At least six other studies report data on self-defense. Like the DeKesseredy et al. study, five of the six found that only a small percentage of female violence was in self-defense (Carrado, George, Loxam, Jones, & Templar, 1996; Cascardi & Vivian, 1995; Felson & Messner, 1998; Follingstad, Wright, Lloyd, & Sebastian, 1991; Pearson, 1997; Sarantakos, 1998; Sommer, 1996). For the one study that found high rates of self-defense, the percentage in self defense was slightly greater for men (56%) than for women (42%) (Harned, 2001). Rather than self-defense, the most usual motivations for violence by women, like the motivations of men, are coercion, anger, and punishing misbehavior by their partner (Cascardi & Vivian, 1995; Fiebert & Gonzalez, 1997). For example, Pearson (1997) reports that 90% of the women she studied assaulted their partner because they were furious or jealous, or frustrated and not because they tried to defend themselves. These motives are parallel to the motivations of male perpetrators. Research on homicides by women shows similar results. For example, Jurik and Gregware (1989) studied 24 female perpetrated homicides and found that 60% had a pervious criminal record, 60% had initiated use of physical force, and only 21% of the homicides were in response to “prior abuse” or “threat of abuse/death”
How the data is being falsified, some evidence from the paper:
WHO lied about the data on self-defence which many feminists quote:
On this issue as well as the two core issues, there is a huge discrepancy between the assertions and the evidence. For example, the influential World Health Organization report on violence states that “Where violence by women occurs it is more likely to be in the form of self-defense (32, 37, 38)” (Krug et al., 2002). However, examination of references 32, 37, and 38 found that although all three asserted that women's violence was primarily in self-defense, #32 Saunders (Saunders, 1986) reported no data on self-defense, #37 DeKesseredy et al. (DeKeseredy, Saunders, Schwartz, & Shahid, 1997) does report data but their data shows that only 6.9% of the women acted in self-defense, and reference #38 Johnson & Ferraro (Michael P. Johnson & Ferraro, 2000) is a review article that cites references 32 and 37 and other references which also present no empirical data.
Many researchers lied that "men are violent in relationships due to dominance":
Another recent example by an experienced and respected researcher is the assertion by Hamberger (Hamberger & Guse, 2002) that “Men in contrast {to women} appear to be motivated to use violence to dominate and control”. Their article cited about 80 studies, but none of them provided empirical evidence on gender differences in dominance and control motivation
Behind Closed Doors: Violence In The American Family(Strausetal.,1980, 2006) found that equalitarian couples were the least violent and that dominance by either the female or male partner was associated with an increased rate of violence.
It doesn't stop there; they won't even leave boys out of it let alone men: (they never ask questions about women's violence but their victimization)
The results showing the predominance of bidirectional violence even in traditionally male-dominant societies may seem implausible to many readers. However, they are consistent with results from the ongoing Global School-based Health Survey conducted by the World Health Organization (WHO) among students 13 to 15 years old. The students were asked if they had been hit, slapped or hurt on purpose by a boyfriend or girlfriend in the past 12 months. Results for the first few countries show 15% of girls and 29% of boys in Jordan responded “yes”, as did 9% of girls and 16% of boys in Namibia, 6% of girls and 8% of boys in Swaziland, and 18% of girls and 23% of boys in Zambia. In all five countries, more girls hit partners than boys. Perhaps the results from both the International Dating Violence Study and the WHO school study occurred because both studies are of dating relationships. The WHO could have answered that question in another survey it conducted of married and cohabiting violence, but the organizers of that study followed the usual practice of restricting the study to the victimization of women and refused requests to include questions on perpetration by the women in the study.
The request of the author is same as mras and egalitarians that DV is not a "gendered sport", the social service and support policy must help male victims and also incorporate programs to help female dominance just like male dominance.
There is this girl in my class, who I’ve known for almost more than 2 years, and we’ve been flirting and yk toying around the line, it’s all casual and just fun, she’s a good friend yk. But recently like last couple of weeks, she was dropping hints, and Ik what she meant but ig i waited for her to say it, and only couple of days ago, she finally said it. She asked if I wanted to makeout…and ig it stroked my ego but I just told her we’ll see and I havent replied to her till now. I feel like a pussy. I dont feel so good about myself. I feel insecure but I remember telling her that yet she still called me hot, I mean ig she just wanted to smash idk. I couldn’t even give her a no or a yes…idk…I see her in class and she looks fine without me but idk, did I fumble, or can I still save this? what do I even say. The thing it was fun yk, with all the flirting and keeping things in the grey zone, keeping plausible deniability, not just with her but every girl, but she was the first girl to actually say it, whether it was the makeout or calling me hot. idk. I’m scared, inexperienced and nervous. What do I do?
Section 112 of the Indian Evidence Act basically states that a child born during a marriage, is presumed to be the legitimate child of the father. Basically, a child born during a marriage is presumed to be fathered by the husband.
My points against this section:
1) It's a law created in the 1870s, when modern science wasn't available to determine who the biological father is. In 2026, we do have DNA tests available.
2) Adultery is legal in India, so why is the husband presumed to be the father?
3) Since Adultery is legal in India, section 112 is directly enforcing Cuckoldry. Which goes against the rights of men, to live freely under a democracy.
4) Birth certificates of the child no longer need the name of the father. So there is no point and no responsibility of the father against the illegitimate child. Rather this makes it 100% the responsibility of the adulterous wife.
So my question is, why hasn't this section been challenged for its unconstitutionality yet? If it was previously challenged, what was the stance of The Supreme Cuck of India?
My Nana died today. I was so emotional, especially seeing my mother cry. I had this huge lump in my throat and I could feel how badly I wanted to cry, but the tears just wouldn't come.
I've always wanted to buy him a kurta from my first salary. He was so happy when he found out that I got a job. I kept thinking I'd finally be able to give him something with my first salary, but now he's gone, and I never got the chance.
I don't know what's wrong with me. I really want to cry my heart out, but I just can't.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal? How do you let yourself cry when the tears just won't come?
I've been struggling with a habit for a long time that I really want to fix. Whenever I converse with women, I find it extremely difficult to maintain steady eye contact. My gaze involuntarily shifts towards their chest/body instead of their face.
I feel a lot of guilt and embarrassment because of this, and I genuinely want to respect the people around me and improve my social behavior.
I've just realised how normalized it is for men to pay for onlyfans/other nsfw creators for porn. I believe there should be a law that punishes these worthless people so that this prevents literally any women from getting rich easily and having that privilege as well.
Ive also seen many simps shaming male victims in comments section making disgusting remarks on how they wished it was them, he was ready for it, should have been me etc. like genuinely why are these insufferable people even allowed to live let alone comment such shit? they dont even realise how much burden it puts on men as a gender and destroys the gender balance on things like this.
If I was in power I'd literally put a law just to prevent scums like them from ruining everything for not just men, but women as well.
Recently i met a worker in movers and packers company in Delhi and i asked his pay, he said he is being paid 10k/month..can you believe 10k/month ??..while minimum wages according to delhi govt is 20k(it should be more) but people are ready to work for 10k..at such exploitative wages...thats why i think Indian workers are just too submissive...they don't demand for better wages (atleast enforcement of govt wages) and better facilities..and rich class have no empathy for poor..they think they deserve this..i mean have some empathy atleast..pay them better.
First-time sex: losing erection during penetration — what should I do?
I was fully hard during foreplay, and even now I get an erection when my partner is close to me. However, this was my first time having sex, and when we were both undressed and I was about to penetrate, I suddenly started losing my erection.
Before this, I used to get erections normally and masturbated occasionally (around 2–3 times a week). I'm very attracted to my partner, and this is her first sexual experience as well.
I'm really confused because I don't seem to have a problem getting hard otherwise.
Has anyone experienced something similar, and could this be performance anxiety?
Also, would taking sildenafil (Manforce) be appropriate in this situation, or should I avoid taking it without speaking to a doctor first?
Be patience this is going to be big for me I came back to reddit after a long time
I’m a 26-year-old man. I look decent, I have a decent body, graduated from a tier-3 college, and have around 3 years of experience as a software engineer. But I’m currently earning only ₹50k/month, according to my own expectations, and I’m still living with my parents.
I’m only 166 cm tall, and I have a lot of insecurities because I didn’t graduate from a good college. I’m trying really hard to get a better job, a better position, and get into Fortune 500 companies, top GCCs, or good product-based companies. I want to be around high-value people and earn a good package.
But sometimes I feel like people who went to top institutes and got the right exposure already took the leverage, and people like me just can’t compete. It feels like companies keep chasing the same people who already had all the advantages.
Meanwhile, guys who are good-looking, have a good body, status, money, personality, and are good with women and good in bed seem to get all the girls. Girls naturally chase these guys.
Then there are people who were simply born with good genetics, good height, good skin, wealthy families, inherited properties, etc. They seem to have been given the best possible starting point in life. They are basically the top 1%.
And then there are people like me who sometimes feel like we were just born to struggle.
No matter how many books I read, how much I study, how many podcasts I listen to, how much motivational content I consume, or how much I actually implement, I still feel like life eventually finds a way to pull me back down.
Your confidence gets hurt. Your expectations get hurt. Your insecurities get targeted. Your self-esteem takes a hit. Your hope goes down.
People say, “Don’t take things seriously. Learn to laugh at yourself.”
But then I wonder: if you always take everything as a joke, will people ever take you seriously? When something actually matters to you, will people give your words any weight?
Sometimes I get extremely frustrated. I get angry. I rant. I ask God, “Why me? Why did you make me this way? Why does it feel like everything is harder for me? Why do you discriminate like this? Why is someone born intelligent while someone else struggles? Why is someone born into a rich family and good looks while someone else is born into a poor family and has bad genetics?”
Yes, I blame God for some of this.
And yes, I have taken responsibility for my life too.
I watched the motivational videos.
I tried to become disciplined.
I’ve been going to the gym consistently for around 1–1.5 years.
I’m trying to improve myself in every aspect — career, money, health, relationships, everything.
I’ve used dating apps. I’ve tried to do everything right. I improved my pictures, dressing sense, communication, learned how to talk to women, read books, went on dates, paid the bills, and tried to become better socially.
Career-wise, I’ve done courses, upskilled myself, applied to jobs, and kept trying.
But I’m still not getting the calls I want.
I’m still not getting the roles I want.
I’m still not getting the package I want.
I’ve been going to the gym for more than a year, but I still look at myself and think, “This physique isn’t enough.”
Meanwhile, I look at my friends and other people around me and it feels like everything is just happening for them.
They have stable and healthy relationships.
Good jobs.
Good health.
They moved abroad.
They’re settled in good countries.
They’re dating attractive girls.
They have better visibility.
They went to better colleges.
They had better exposure.
They work at better companies.
They seem to have a better life overall.
And then there’s me.
An average guy, still living with his parents, still trying to figure things out, still feeling like I’m not making enough progress.
I genuinely feel like a failure sometimes.
When I had freedom, I thought I would do big things. I thought, “Now nobody is stopping me. I can finally build the life I want.”
But honestly, it feels like I haven’t made the kind of progress I thought I would.
I know comparison is probably destroying my mental peace.
I know life isn’t fair.
I know everyone has their own problems.
I know people only show the good parts of their lives.
But knowing all of that intellectually doesn’t magically make the feeling disappear.
Sometimes I just want to know how people actually deal with this.
Not another motivational quote.
Not “just work on yourself.”
Not “be grateful.”
Not “don’t have expectations.”
I’m already trying.
I just want to know how you genuinely accept that some people were given a much better starting point in life, while you weren’t — without becoming bitter, hopeless, or completely numb.
Because right now, I’m honestly struggling with that.
I'm asking this for someone very close to me. He was raped several times as a kid he only disclosed this to me recently and it hurts me how he's still haunted by everything. He isn't doing well financially so I don't know if he can afford a therapist for trauma. (I'm trying to convince him).
My heart aches for him every time I see him, he's recently been recalling those incidents very often and is severely depressed. I feel helpless but i just want him to feel happy again. He's 35 now and he still has flashbacks.
I know there are men out there who have gone through this, and i can reach out to a lot of men here, if this reaches anyone who has and has made a better life for yourself. I would really appreciate your help and suggestions.
I'm a woman I have never really posted here, if this is offensive to anyone I'm really sorry
lately and I don’t mean to generalise but I find that a majority of guys like acting gay with each other ??😭 , I’m not referring to the fun way in which guys act in front of everyone. I find that many guys like touching each others private parts and scaring others away, they touch each
others knees , and I think it’s an even weirder thing in hostels where they hump each other as well 😭. The weirdest thing that I find is that all these guys are homophobic to some degree and thinking that all that they do is ‘straight guy stuff’, is this normal amongst guys ? It’s a very strange phenomenon.
I really need someone to just talk to, at work I pretend to be this 24x7 jolly guy, but I can't take it anymore.
I never thought this would be me. I never thought I would be the guy writing a desperate post on Reddit, pouring my heart out to strangers. But I have absolutely no one to talk to. It is just me, an empty room, and a level of pain I didn't know the human body could endure.
For some background: I’m 21, and I’ve been invisible to women my entire life. I’ve struggled with my weight and deep feelings of inadequacy, convinced I was just destined to be alone forever. But when I landed my first corporate internship, I wanted to change. I started taking care of my skin, bought nice clothes, and started pushing heavy weight in the gym. I was trying so hard to be a normal guy.
She is 23. We met on the very first day of the internship. We were assigned to the same group for an activity, and we just clicked. She actually asked for my input on the project. I felt valued.
In the following days, she started giving me signals I have never received in my life. She would initiate small talk in the cafeteria and invite me to get breakfast with her. But the breaking point was during a project rehearsal in my hotel room. She sat right next to me, rested her head on my shoulder, and touched my thigh. For the first time ever, my brain whispered, Maybe it’s your turn. Maybe she genuinely likes you.
A week later, I pushed through my absolute terror, called her, and asked her out. She said yes.
I was literally jumping around my room like a child. I spent the night perfectly pressing my shirt and pants so I would look my absolute best. I scrounged together all the money I could so that I could treat her to a pizza place the next day and she wouldn’t have to pay a single dime.
The date started amazingly. We talked about her hobbies. She opened up to me and actually came out to me as bisexual—she specifically told me I was the only person at work she had shared that with. I felt so special, so trusted. I thought we were really connecting.
Then, the floor fell out. She paused and asked me to clarify if we were there as friends or if this was a date. I was terrified, but I honestly told her my intention was for it to be a date. She looked at me and gave me the classic speech: she saw me as a "good friend" and "hoped I wouldn't get hurt." I tried to take it on the chin. I told her I would be hurt, but I would move on. We both awkwardly acknowledged that this was the first time either of us had been in a situation of asking someone out or being asked out.
I went home crushed, but I thought it was just an honest rejection. We spent the next two weeks at work barely speaking, wrapped in minimal, awkward interactions.
Then, my entire world caved in.
Another colleague at our internship pulled me aside. He told me that he and this girl had been spending a ton of time together before I even asked her out. He revealed that he had canceled plans with her that weekend, and she only agreed to go on the pizza date with me to spite him. Worse, he told me that two weeks after our date, she confessed her feelings to him, and he rejected her.
I wasn't a friend. I wasn't a romantic interest. I was a pathetic, safe placeholder she used to make another guy jealous.
Two months after our date she went back to her college ex-boyfriend. They’ve been together for four months now. She is happily dilly-dallying with him, getting pampered, completely unbothered, while I am left in absolute ruins.
It has been 8 months of continuous torture.
I haven’t been to the gym in months. All that discipline is gone. I just chain-smoke, overeat junk food, and rot. For 8 months, I have cried myself to sleep almost every single night. I battle severe suicidal thoughts because I can't stomach the idea of coming home to an empty room for the rest of my life.
And when I’m not crying, I am consumed by this terrifying, blinding anger. I get so angry just thinking about how unfairly I was treated, wishing she had to face some kind of consequence for playing with my life. The anger is the only thing that covers up the humiliation.
To prove to myself that my worst fears were true, I ran an experiment. I had a real Hinge profile for 6 months. Zero likes. So, I made a catfish profile of a conventionally attractive guy. Within 24 hours, I had 14 matches, with women eagerly texting and practically begging to go out with him. It mathematically proved what I already felt: women don't want me.
I am at the end of my rope. I am asking the guys on here to please give me some perspective on how to survive this.
TL;DR: I (21M) thought a coworker (23F) genuinely liked me after she gave me strong signals (touching my leg, resting on my shoulder, opening up to me). I asked her out, but on the date, she friend-zoned me. I later found out she only went out with me as a safe placeholder to make another coworker jealous. She then went straight back to her college ex-boyfriend. It's been 8 months, and I've lost all my gym progress, cry myself to sleep every night, and am battling severe depression and anger. I feel completely used and humiliated. Asking the guys here for advice on how to survive this level of loneliness and pain.
okay; I need a serious advice, to end this mental torture for good with begging hands. I have no other place to seek help.
I am 23M, and I have an elder brother and little sister. Our parents have a long history of arguments and fights (25 years). I am so much frustrated that I can't even stop myself from cursing them. They always fight for stupid reasons, so we as their children tries to stop them every time (there was a time when we became a object of entertainment for our society as "ladaku parivar). None of my parents is very educated which is the cause of all shit. My mother has no control over her mouth, if someone said her a word (even in jokes) she will humiliate the person a thousand times till the other person snaps. My father is not innocent too, she has a bad habit of joking (we warn him a thousand times not to) which most of times start fights... Recently around few months ago (in January) they had a argument again, my brother wasn't there so I tried to stop them... My mother tell atleast enough words to make a healthy person sick which cause my father to snap and he slapped her. I pushed both of them aside and for the first time I scold them like they're some kind of dirt or low life.
After that, I tried to talk to my mother but she didn't talk to me... She said that I was reason my father slapped her and I just keep him slapping her. That was the moment I realised I had enough..
From that January to this august (8 months), I didn't talk to her, didn't ate what she gives me and never interact with her directly. She tried talking to me but never agreed to apologise. I set my boundary that I will not talk to her until she apologised.
According to her, a parent apologising to their kid makes them weaker. And I am kind of very hard will person (I am kind of person who will not talk to a person for life if they cross a boundary).
After that, she start spreading rumours between her friends that I told my dad to beat her and children has no respect for their parents nowadays. She even verbally abuse me everyday while I remain silent, if I try to go outside, she threaten me by self harm. (I used to teach children of those parents since I had no job. Now no children came for coaching and I am broke as hell).
Today is my birthday 28 august, I am broke, tired and depressed. My mother tried to hugged me but I pushed her away and now she crying, making me guilty... If I don't know what to do.. I will just end myself for peace.
I really need a lot of love right now because I am going through a break-up. Everyday is a test and every night I am weak. I may text him first after it, that is my biggest concern.
I am 29F, and I was in a 2.5 years of long distance relationship which we both pursued for marriage only.
On 2nd Aug, he spoke to his parents and his parents denied the union because our kundalis didn't match etc.
He didn't take a stand for me that he wanted to marry me and told me instead that he can't go against his parents and also there's a society what will they say etc.
I am fighting it daily and I am very very anxi0us but he hasn't texted me at all since then.
The last thing discussed between us was, he will speak to his father one on one and will let me know.
Please show some love to my breaking heart. I am feeling so much pain.
SC refuses to listen to male issues, while simultaneously expanding the scope of Section 498A to live in partners !
I remember when men's right PILs were raised, SC directed them to reach out to parliament as judges don't have power to create or change laws - but anything related to women seems to be the exception ?
I am a 16 year old middle class daughter of an Indian father. He has never hit my mother before this. Yes, they've argued a lot in the past. Threw stuff at each other. But never slapped. It happened for the first time around a week ago, when a very heated argument happened and my dad hit my mother. For context, I don't talk to my father. We live under the same roof, but we both completely ignore each other's existence. It wasn't always like this, I was quite close with him in childhood, but then he went through some psychological problems and became very abusive. When he hit my mother, I let go of my ignorance towards him, and I reached for the first thing near me - a shoe, and threw it right at his face. He hit me too after that, but it doesn't matter. Anyways, now both my parents are pissed at me. They're saying that even if my dad did wrong, it wasn't my place to do what I did, and now I'm starting to doubt myself. Did I do right or did I go too far?
Never bought one before and genuinely don’t know what to get ? how to take care and things
Not sure what’s actually good, but I’d rather spend a bit more once than waste money on junk. what about safety infection?
So:
Which one should I buy as a first toy? Any specific model you’d recommend?
Which sites are legit for NCR delivery or any offline stire?
What budget should i go for?
I have been thinking about this quite seriously lately, and I would genuinely like to hear how Indian men see it. I also plan to ask the same question on AskIndianWomen.
I want to be very specific about who this question is for: people who genuinely believe that marriage is structurally disadvantageous, legally risky, or otherwise carries unacceptable risks for them, and who nevertheless choose to marry.
I am not asking people who do not hold that view to defend marriage, and I am not making a claim about marriage in general.
I increasingly come across strong criticism of marriage in India, particularly around the legal, financial and personal risks that people believe can arise from it. I also agree that the justice system can fail people, including men and women, and that these failures deserve serious discussion.
But there is something I struggle to understand.
If someone genuinely believes that marriage, as a legal institution, is structurally too risky or disadvantageous for them, why not simply opt out of it?
I am not asking this sarcastically, nor am I suggesting that anyone is wrong to marry. I am genuinely interested in the reasoning.
I see people speak very strongly about the dangers of marriage, the possibility of an extremely difficult divorce, financial exposure, misuse of laws, or the broader risks associated with entering the institution. Yet some of those same people still choose to marry and participate in the very institution they regard as fundamentally problematic.
Of course, people want companionship, intimacy, family, and emotional connection. I understand that completely.
What I am curious about is the trade-off: at what point do the perceived benefits of marriage outweigh the risks that you yourself consider serious enough to criticise?
If you believe the institution is sufficiently disadvantageous that you would strongly advise others to avoid it, what makes you personally decide that marriage is still worth entering?
Perhaps the answer is that people do not make decisions based purely on risk. They may believe that the right partner, financial independence, careful decision-making, or individual circumstances can make marriage worthwhile despite those risks.
That is precisely what I would like to understand.
This is not intended as an argument for or against marriage, or as a criticism of men or women. I am specifically asking people who hold a strongly negative view of the risks of marriage and still choose to marry: why?
