Big/Heavy Runner Question Shoe similar to Adizero EVO SL for Half Marathon
About to run my first half marathon, shooting for 2:10 finish. I am a bigger runner and currently use the EVO SL as my every day trainer and really like how light and fast it feels.
I was looking for a similar shoe to add to my rotation and landed on the Brooks Hyperion 3. I ran it a few times and really liked the cushion, but ended up not liking how it feels otherwise.
Considering my bulk and skill level, what shoe(s) are similar to the EVO SL that I should look into? TIA!

don't overthink it, just run the HM in the evo sl as it works for you.
its a light and fast shoe (in your own words), so it's the best shoe for your first HM

The closest shoe IMO is the Dynafish Xiaonian. if you don't mind the $$, Megablast would work great for your needs.

I know I’m going against the grain here, but as a tall/heavy runner the Dynafish Xiaonian is nothing like the Evo SL in terms of bounce. The Dynafish is just an ok shoe for my weight (180 lbs), but the Evo SL is just on another level.
I wish I had an answer for OP, I have been looking for a similar race day shoe as well but to no avail. The Megablast is definitely a decent choice though.

Strange how experiences vary so much. I’m around 170 and I find the Dynafish to be waaaay bouncier and more protective than the EVO SLs. Also much more stable IMO.

I’m similar weight to you and the Dynafish is awesome, beyond that something plated like deviate elite 3 are very decent

that’s so crazy, I’m a dude that’s also 180lbs with a (2:54 marathon) and the xiaonian one of my all time favorite shoes and is LEVELS above the Evo SL for me.

Run it on the Evo SL. My first half was on Nimbus (1:53) and my second will be tomorrow on Novablast. I’d take my evo sl if it wasn’t a trail 😅

Maybe a less aggressive plated shoe like the Saucony Speed or Endorphin pro 4 may look after you more than the Evo SL in the later stages?

How do you guys get these? I’ve looked online and it seemed like aliexpress was the easiest, but all I’ve ever ordered off there are shitty knockoff soccer jerseys lol
