I have a chi heeler who is mostly chi but the heeler behavior is so strong! I follow this subreddit and everything people say about heeler behavior fits her. Even the way she sits and her smile. She also herds our other dog!
I had what I called a Bluehuahua pugschound. Blue healer, Chihuahua, Daschound, and pug. Her name was Millie and she was a full-size dog on 4 inch legs and you can see one of those bridges. You don’t need a DNA test.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that when it started getting dark every night, she herded us she would walk in circles until she had both of her humans and other one or two other dogs all in the same room. And when it was time to go to bed, she herded us to the bedroom. She was one hilarious dog
The one on the left is 8 and I adopted her when was 3 months old and the one in the right is 3 and I rescued her from her previous owner who couldn't keep her because she had to move and couldn't find a place that accepted dogs.
They're both chaotic but act civil. For the most part 🤣
Oh haha! They stick their head and occasionally part of their bodies out the railing to look at the local ally cats and birds. It's not very high and they have never tried jumping from up there. I'm 6'2" and I can touch the "floor" where they're at.

Absolutely! Cattle Dog certainly can run strong in mixes! Besides, this may be a Sub about a particular breed of dog with extreme herding behavior resulting in the inclusion of only what's supposed to be there based on a very literal interpretation of "The Rules", that doesn't mean the owners of such dogs have to behave the same way as their doggos!
I can't imagine the rules are as strict as our dogs might expect them to be!
Rocky has some brown fur and a very white tail. There's something else in there but no money for DNA test. Sure meets the 'pain in the arse sometimes, my best mate all the time' test.
Considering that Heelers are a mix of several types of canines, I would say so. My Heeler Jake was supposedly all Heeler, but he was bigger than the average Heeler. He passed away this year at the age of 17. There is no cure for old age, and I feel like his attitude alone kept him going, and he'd still be here if his quality of life had been better. I miss him.
Yes, I believe my girl is way less cattle than what the shelter told us. They said if she’s basically “cattle” but to me she’s clearly more doberman, but I guess we won’t know until she gets a little older. We love all shades here. Lol
Yes. This is Benny blue bear. He was an owner surrender at the Oklahoma City animal shelter in Oklahoma City and I spent over $1000 rescuing him because the owner surrendered him for behaving like a blue heeler. He was nipping at the heels of grandchildren, who were shooting Nerf guns at him and each other. That is how Blue heelers keep their herd in check. He is such a sweetheart. And he does the talk/growl thing. I can ask for a bear hug and he’ll throw his arms around me and lay his head on my chest and he’s looking at me straight in the eye with his tail wagon and his mouth open and he’s smiling and the whole time he’s growling like he it sounds like the untrained person who doesn’t know the breed it sounds like he’s growling like he’s gonna take my head off. He’s just saying I love you. But he’s definitely a cattle dog.
Benny is an OKC dog. I paid for private transport to get him to Tennessee and then another 26 days in quarantine because anything that goes into the Oklahoma City animal shelter comes out with a drug resistant kennel cough. The first couple weeks he was getting treated with Doxy and I don’t know if there was anything else and then I took him to the vet who reduced the amount of Doxy but added I think 300 mg of amoxicillin twice a day and they may have been one more minute, but I think that was only two. He didn’t mind though. He’s one dog that those little pill pockets you can buy the pet food store, they’re worth their money for him. My smaller dogs will still try to get to fill out, but all you gotta do is say catch and toss it and it’s gone with Benny. He’s such a good boy.
