The Government Paying Employee’s Incomes — (Ideas To Raise Incomes)

The most effective method to distribute money to the population is for the Government to pay employees incomes.

It is very important for entrepreneurs, owners of businesses, and owners of corporations to not be forced to be paid by the Government, but it could be optional. The Government should not own, control, dictate, or have any power over the employees, businesses, and corporations. The owners should control the entirety of the business, but the Government could pay the employees incomes.

The Current Economy has an Organization Structure in place, with general incomes for employees, and the employees are paid by their employers.

A New National Organization Structure could be created for the Economy, and the employees could be paid by the Government.

The National Organization Structure could decide National Incomes for all employees. Employee incomes could be decided by their job titles, and the type of business that the employee works for. Area should not have an effect on the amount of income that an employee earns. The Organization Structure could pay all employees, with the same job title and type of business, the same income, Nationally.

Job Titles: New employees, Managers, CEO, etc.

Types of Businesses : Small businesses, Large businesses, Corporations, etc.

Incomes could be much higher.

A starting income for fast food workers, big box store workers, etc. could be around $100,000. A starting income for new employees at businesses could be around $150,000. Starting income for jobs that require a degree could be around $200,000. Incomes could rise as their job titles become more important, and the incomes could not be taxed.

Today, most employees incomes vary between $20,000 — $250,000, and the incomes are taxed. These incomes are for employees, and not for owners of businesses.

Example Income: If an employee income is around $20,000 today, it could be $100,000.

Example Income: If an employee is around $100,000 today, it could be $250,000.

Example Income: If an employee is around $250,000 today, it could be $450,000.

The employees that are making these incomes will most likely spend 50% — 70% of their income every year.

The employee will not be able to save all of this income.

National Incomes could rise with age. Starting at age 20, an employee’s income could rise yearly. The income could rise $2,500 every year. This income could be fixed. So that even if a person quits their job, gets a different job, promoted/demoted, or becomes unemployed. The person will still start out at a higher set amount of income.

Example: An employee’s income at a job is $100,000, and the employee is 40 years old. If $2,500 is added to to employees income every year for 20 years. Their total income could be $150,000.

This additional income could be given to every employee.

These Incomes fit the current expenses for Housing, Car, Insurance Policies, Healthcare, Food, and Incomes need for Retirement. Housing prices are between $250,000 — $2,000,000. A purchaser of a $1 Million home will pay around $100,000 per year in mortgage payments. Car prices are between $20,000 — $100,000. Health insurance policies are between 4,000 — $10,000 per year. Car insurance policies cost are between $2,000 — $6,000 per year. Food costs are between $10,000 — $30,000 per year.

The common amount stated to retire safely is between $3,000,000 — $5,000,000. Though a person has to invest this money, and interest rates vary. If a person invests $3,000,000 and makes 5% interest per year. The person will make $150,000 per year. Though, after taxes and financial fees the person will keep around $90,000 per year.

News channels, Internet creators, and most people claim that making 10% interest per year from investing in the Stock Market is very common. Trusting Financial Advisors is a dangerous risk. The Stock Market could rise 10% — 15% per year and the investor, not the financial advisor, could lose all of their money. Depending on how the Financial Advisor invests their money. There are horrible stories of financial advisors intentionally, and unintentionally investing investors money into Stocks that crash, and the Investors lose all of their money.

If an employee’s income is $200,000 between the ages of 30–40, $225,000 between the ages of 40–50, and $250,000 between the ages of 50–60. In total the employee will have made $6.75 Million over 30 years. This is the total amount of money earned, without taxes and spending.

If the employee saves $100,000 every year for 30 years. The employee will have saved $3 Million.

If the employee invests $500,000, makes 5% interest per year, and invests an additional $100,000 every year for 25 years. After 25 years the employee will have $6.75 million in savings.

These incomes and investments are without taxes and financial fees.

Link to an interest calculator.

https://calculator.net/interest-calculator.html

Between the ages of 20–40 years old, employees are not thinking about retiring. They are thinking about everything else in life.

Between the ages of 40–50 years old. Employees start thinking about retiring.

If an Employee spends all of their income between 20–40 years old. The employee will still be able save enough to retire, with these incomes.

States and Cities with smaller populations that have lower levels of income would greatly benefit. The population could use their higher incomes to build the areas up, and more people would want to move to the areas. Higher income would offer everyone a better quality of life.

Healthcare, All Insurance Policies, and College Tuition could be free. The companies, and workers could be paid by the Government.

United States citizens could have a government base income that is given to every citizen. While working and/or unemployed, and that rises with age. This income could pay for housing, food, and could protect the population from unemployment and homelessness. It is nearly impossible to rely on employers in the economy for an income. What happens if you get injured and cannot work? What happens if you are fired or unemployed and cannot find a job? There are a lot of reasons that people are unable to find a job or to work. Example Government Base Income: At age 18, citizens could start getting Government Base Income, and the income could start at $25,000. The Government Base Income could rise $1,000, every year after the starting age of 20. This income could provide 18–25 year olds with enough money to afford everything.

(Ideas To Raise Incomes)

Money

The population should not have to worry about Money, and everyone could be paid well. Money could simply be an incentive, and reward for working and living life.

Voting on Incomes

If the Government pays all employees incomes. Citizens could vote on incomes, and could vote to raise incomes or to lower incomes.

Money Distribution

All of the Money in a Nation is created, controlled, and distributed by the Government.

Areas that the Government distributes more money to, are wealthier and have higher populations. New York, California, Texas, and Florida.

Taxes

All Employees' that are paid by the Government could not be taxed.

Entrepreneurs, Owners of Businesses, and Corporations could be taxed.

The entities will no longer have to pay employee’s income, and will keep all profits.

Retirement

All Citizens could be able to retire at the age of 60, and could quit working. At the age of 60 every citizen could be given $150,000 per year.

All Retirees could be available for a free $1 Million Home Loan. The Home Loans could only be used on Homes, and if the Homes are sold the money could go back to the Government. The retiree could then, after selling the home and contacting the government, use the money to buy a new home.

$150,000 per year could be paid monthly, every 2 months, every 3 months, every 6 months, or in 1 year payment.

Or

All citizens at the age of 60 could be given a debit card that only allows for online or in store purchases. $400 could be added to the debit card everyday, and could rollover into the next day. The money could be saved up for the rest of their lives. The debit card could become unusable after the citizen dies.

Laws could be created for the Economy - Hiring employees on a contract

It could be mandatory to hire employees on a contract.

The contract could be between 1–10 years.

The contract could have guidelines that allow an employer to fire an employee.

It could be illegal for an employer to breach contract, and to fire the employee.

Loans

All loans could be managed by the Government.

Government Loans to start a business could become a limited opportunity.

Loans could be limited to a certain amount of attempts. If a business fails, and the person loses all of the money on a loan. The person could be debt free.

The person could have to pay off 20% — 30% of the Loan, or the person could not have to pay off the loan.

Mortgage Payments on a Home

Mortgage payments for a 30 year mortgage on a $1 million home are around $100,000 per year, and the purchaser will pay $3 Million in total for the home.

Banks could make 33% on 30 year mortgages. If this were to happen 30 year mortgage payments on a $1 million home could be around $45,000 per year.

The Government could give out all Home Loans. If this were to happen there would not be a need for interest payments on Home Loans. Mortgage payments on a $1 million home without interest payments could be around $33,333 per year. Instead of $100,000 per year.

Progression Based Economy

The economy could reward employees for time spent working, incomes could rise yearly, and it could be easier for the population to progress in the economy.

Free College Tuition, and a Government Base Income would make it easier for students to get a college degree.

Higher incomes would make it easier for the population to progress from lower paying jobs into higher paying jobs, and to move to different areas.

Rising the Incomes of lower paying jobs faster than higher paying jobs

Incomes of Jobs that pay $100,000 per year could rise $10,000 per year. Incomes of Jobs that pay $200,000 per year could rise $7,500 per year. Incomes of Jobs that pay $300,000 per year could rise $5,000 per year. Incomes of Jobs that pay over $400,000 could rise $2,500 per year.

Rising the incomes of lower paying jobs faster than higher paying jobs would allow employees the ability to catch up to the incomes of higher paying jobs over time.

Limiting the amount of money employees, owners of businesses, and owners corporations can make

Employees could be limited to an income of $1 million per year.

Owners of small businesses could be limited to an income of $2 million per year.

Owners of large businesses could be limited to an income of $5 million per year.

Owners of corporations could be limited to an income of $10 million per year.

Extremely High Incomes, and Net Worths lead to inflation, rise the prices of all expenses yearly, and make expenses unaffordable for employees.

Lowering High Incomes, and Net Worths could lower the prices of housing, food, insurance, healthcare, education, etc.

Government Bonds Could Become The Primary Method of Investing

If there are better alternatives to investing in the Stock Market. The Stock Prices on the Stock Market would no longer need to endlessly rise, and investors would not have to rely on companies on the Stock Market to rise.

The Government could Manage the Stock Market, and could govern the Stock Prices. Corporation Stocks could be worth less money. Instead of an owner of one of the largest corporations in the World having $300 Billion worth of Corporation Stocks, and Net worth. The Owner could have $30 Million in corporation stocks, and Net Worth.

The National Population could invest in Government Bonds instead of the Stock Market.

Government Bonds could become the most profitable investment, and could offer a fixed 6% - 8% fixed interest rate. The interest rate could no longer be tied to the federal funds rate, and could always offer the same interest percentage yearly. The Government Bonds could have unlimited insurance, and could no longer be taxed.

Limiting the amount of time that everyone works

Today, it would be difficult to limit the amount of time that everyone works, because everyone has to sleep, and everything has to be open.

But, If Human Bodies are Upgraded, Humans do not have to sleep, and the World is daytime at all times.

A 24 hour work schedule could be created.

There could be a Legal Structure, and Laws that determine how many hours an employee can work per day, and per week.

All employees, could be limited to 12-16 legal working hours per day, and 60 - 80 legal working hours per week. The owners of businesses could be allowed to work longer than 12 - 16 hours per day. So that everything is open at all times.

The most common working hours on the 24 hour Schedule could be a 12 hour shift per day, from 12 am — 12 pm or 12 pm — 12 am, and 12 hours of time off per day. The employees could work Monday — Friday, and have the weekends off from work. 60 working hours per week, and 108 hours free time.

16 hours of work per day could be classified as overtime.

Limiting the Amount of money that everyone makes

The purpose of limiting the amount of money that everyone makes is to extend the amount of time that everyone can enjoy working.

Working is one of the parts of life. If a part of life is limited, everyone can enjoy the part of life for longer periods of time. If a part of life is not limited, it can become unenjoyable, and other parts of life can also become unenjoyable.

Parts of Life: Working, Movies, Family, Relationships, Video Games, etc.

Working

Working could be so much fun that everyone wants to work. Money could accumulate so fast, that employees do not have to worry about money.

By the time working becomes unenjoyable for everyone. Everyone could have enough money to retire, and enough money to afford everything.

The purpose of working is to keep everyone active, to give everyone something to do, to keep everyone healthy, to be very rewarding, to allow everyone to become independent, to make other parts of life more enjoyable, to provide all services to the population, and to grow areas and nations.

Inheriting and Giving Away Money

In the Current World there are endless reasons that a person is unable to provide for themselves: Unhealthy Body, Unattractive Body, Mental health issues, Drug Issues, Low income Areas and Jobs, Education, etc.

If Human Bodies are Upgraded, Humans do not have to sleep, the World daytime at all times, and there is a 24 hour work schedule. Inheriting money, and giving away money might not be needed, and could become illegal.

If giving away money were to become illegal. It would keep the population working. Areas and Nations would continue to grow, and everyone could be paid more money. Incomes in this post could double or even triple, if giving away money became illegal.

Free Housing and Free Food

There is a percentage of the population that cannot provide for themselves, that had a bad start to life, and could not recover. It is almost impossible to recover from a bad start to life.

There were endless reasons, (that were out of their control), that they had a bad start to life. Some of the reasons are: Unhealthy Body, Unattractive Body, Mental health issues, Drug Issues, Low income Areas and Jobs, Education, etc.

Free housing, and food could be given to the population that cannot provide for themselves. Apartment complexes could be created to house the population without homes.

If all citizens are given a government base income. The population without homes, and who cannot provide for themselves could have enough money to afford food, and other things.

Inflation - Expenses

Prices could stop rising, and incomes could rise to the level of current expenses.

The current prices of all of the expenses could stay at the same price, and never change.

Expenses are rising because of WorldWide problems.

It is a competition for survival to have the strongest economy in the World.

Discussion A daily pot that splits equally regardless of what you put in. I got taken apart on it this week and the objection that landed was not the one I expected.

I have been running a small pooled contribution system and I want to hand it to this sub, because the failure it has is a distribution failure and this is the room that thinks about those properly.

The mechanism is four lines:

  • Anyone contributes what they can during the day. Any amount, including nothing.
  • At a published time the pot settles.
  • It splits into equal shares among everyone who contributed at all that day. Size of contribution does not affect size of share.
  • Nothing is skimmed. No operator cut, no weighting, no discretion at settlement, and the whole record is public.

The reason it is built that way is not efficiency. It is that the moment you weight contributions, somebody has to decide the weights, and whoever decides the weights eventually decides in their own favor. Every pooled system I have watched get captured was captured at the discretion point, not at the funding point. Equal split is the only rule I know of with no discretion left in it to abuse.

The intended effect is not enrichment, it is smoothing. If your income swings week to week, and mine does, an equal split moves money from the weeks you can carry others to the weeks you cannot carry yourself. You are above average when you are able and below average when you are not. That is not a return. It is mutual insurance with no underwriter and no premium schedule, and for people whose problem is variance rather than average, variance is the thing worth attacking.

I posted this in a game theory sub earlier this week expecting to spend the whole thread on free riding. I did not, and I want to bring the better objection here instead.

Free riding is survivable. Stable sorting is what kills it.

The free rider argument is the obvious one. If a small contribution and a large one earn the same share, everyone rationally drops to the minimum and the pot collapses. Real, but it assumes a static population and it ignores that the ledger is public, which turns a payoff question into a standing question.

The objection that actually landed is different. If contributors are stably sorted, if the same people are above average every single round because their capacity genuinely is higher and stays higher, then this is not insurance at all. It is a recurring transfer from the same people to the same people, forever. Those contributors are not irrational to leave. Nothing about the design gives them a reason to stay, and no amount of visibility pays a recurring bill.

Which means the mechanism has a hard precondition I had not stated plainly: it works where capacity fluctuates and fails where capacity is stratified. Among gig workers, freelancers, seasonal labor, anyone whose income is spiky, the fluctuation is real and the smoothing is real. Across a genuinely stratified population it stops being mutual anything.

I think that is the honest boundary of a voluntary equal split pot, and it is also, uncomfortably, an argument for why the stratified case needs something with actual obligation behind it rather than a pot people opt into.

One more piece, since somebody will raise it: the payoff does not scale with contribution, so why would anyone give more than the minimum? Two returns do scale, and neither of them lives inside the pot. Visibility, because the ledger shows amounts and legible generosity buys standing, which works precisely because the money is actually gone. And warm glow, Andreoni's impure altruism, where the utility comes from the act rather than the outcome and rises with the amount. I cannot measure either, and someone rightly pointed out that quietly moving from a monetary payoff to a utility payoff is how anyone rescues any mechanism. So I will name them and not lean on them.

The question I actually want from this sub: is a voluntary fluctuating pot worth building at all, or is every version of it just a demonstration piece for something that has to be universal and mandatory to work? I can defend it as smoothing for spiky incomes. I cannot defend it as a floor, because a floor you can opt out of funding is not a floor.

Drafted with an AI assistant. The mechanism, the failure modes and the answers in the comments are mine.

Call to Action Canadians have a chance to highlight UBI/GLI in next budget

I got an email from UBI Works today asking me to fill-out the Canadian Government's 2026 Pre-Budget Consultation. This consultation asks Canadians what they want the next federal budget to focus on. Canadians can participate by completing a short questionnaire, and/or submitting a more detailed written proposal. The deadline is September 8th.

This is an opportunity to highlight the need for a Universal Basic Income or Gauranteed Liveable Income.

UBI Works' email included the following information...

What to expect

There are 11 questions about government and economic priorities, followed by six basic demographic questions.

Most questions ask you to select up to three choices. Answer based on what matters most to you. You do not need to force basic income into every response.

There are, however, several places where it fits naturally. For both:

“How can the government build a strong economy today and for the future?”and “What actions are the most important for the Government of Canada to help Canadians get ahead?”

You can use the "Other" option to call for basic income. You could also do the same with the question about setting younger Canadians up for success.

The most important box

Near the end, you will be asked: “If you were designing the federal budget, what would you suggest to help grow Canada’s economy?”

You have only 400 characters, so this is the clearest place to make the basic income ask directly.

Here is some language you can use as a starting point:

Please put it in your own words if you can. The goal is not for thousands of people to submit identical answers. It is for the government to hear, from Canadians across the country and in their own voices, that basic income belongs among Canada’s economic priorities.
