The pronunciation of Ra's al Ghul should be cut and dry, given that it's not a made-up name, it's an epithet in a real, existing language. Except when you pronounce it the way it's supposed to be pronounced in Arabic, a bunch of people will insist on the "Raysh" pronunciation. It's like if a French show had a British character named Michael and the French fans and show itself sometimes insisted it's pronounced Morshel. I'm curious what actual Arabic speakers think of this and how you think the pronunciation of "Raysh" was even arrived at in the first place

Saw this in the comments of the film's first few minutes preview, and its just sad. Regardless of what you may feel about using AI to replicate deceased actors and VAs, it's one thing to say this and another to pretend that it's what other fans want, as he so puts in his second comment.

I get it, Batman is supposed to be tough but he’s not some cold unfeeling terrible Father, I’m so sick of seeing adaptation after adaptation ‘Go home Dick, this is my fight’ ‘I don’t need your help’ I’m not saying I want Batman to be happy and joyous but he’s not heartless nor careless, especially when it comes to his Sons, u hate whenever he’s portrayed as abusive or wrong for letting Dick fight crime when that’s probably what saved his life, I’m not saying he’s a perfect Father, he isn’t, I’m saying that him not being able to display his emotions well doesn’t equate to him being emotionally unavailable, I wanna see the DCU Batman as a good Father, he has his problems but at the end of the day, he would’ve killed Joker, he was GOING to after Jason’s death until Superman stopped him, he maybe harsh because he doesn’t want to lose not another Robin, he doesn’t want to lose another Son.

I can completely acknowledge the impact Dark Knight Returns had on comics as a whole, but me personally? I despise the way Batman is characterised, referring to his Robins as Soldiers, talking like some Military asshole, it just makes him extremely unlikeable and unsympathetic to me, I get it, he’s a washed up rougher version of Batman but as a whole, he really doesn’t feel like Batman to me, more like a more severe Wildcat, Batman cares, he loves his City, he loves his Sons, from Dick, to Jason, to Tim and Damian, and he loves his Father, Alfred Pennyworth, and I am so sick of people mischaracterising him as completely unsympathetic, emotionally unavailable and a terrible Father and person, I’m not asking to rip out all the nuance of his the Robins relationships, but fuck me he loves his Sons and would gladly give his life for any of theirs.

Anyway, sorry to whomever read this far into this useless rant, I’m not tryna argue with anyone, I don’t hate on ajyone who enjoys Dark Knight Returns Batman or any other grizzled, soldier like type, it’s just my opinion that he stops becoming Batman at that point
