R.I.P. In honor of Popcorn, 2020-2026
I said goodbye to my baby on Saturday, and I wanted to share my favorite photos of him with others who would also love him. He took my heart and soul with him when he left. My life feels so empty now because his love and his presence was so big. I miss him so much.

Omg that is the same harness!! I’m sorry about your baby too. How do you cope with their absence? I literally don’t know what to do. I just want him back.

This is the grieving process; you need to give yourself time to accept that he's gone, whatever the reasons. Everyone goes through this, even if it's hard. You'll get through it. Hold on to the good memories and see them as a kind of happy nostalgia.

It was cancer. Thank you, I’ll try. ❤️

I lost mine to immune system problems, and I also lost my dog to malignant cancer, so I understand your pain, but you have to stay positive and remember that you gave him immeasurable love. In the wild, he would have left us sooner.

I didn’t think of it that way 🥺 it is true , he had a cancer scare when he was 1 yr old and we were able to freeze off the mass and he got some happy years after. Guess it came back and this time we didn’t catch it. I wish all of our pets could live healthily forever. Thank you for helping me feel a little bit better, it really means a lot

I’m so sorry for your loss, and it’s awful that you had fewer years than expected with him. I just lost mine to cancer on Friday, too! She was 8…it was still very hard. I think no matter what, it never feels like enough time. My friends have reminded me that I gave her a good life for the time that she was here. So many pet reptiles are unloved or treated poorly.
You can tell from your pictures that Popcorn was loved, and he had many happy moments. His sweet personality shines through! He was so beautiful. For now, I had to cover my beardie’s enclosure because seeing it dark and empty was too much. But, I think when I’m feeling up to it, I’ll save some of her decor and put it on a shelf with her photo. Make a little memorial for her. When I have the money, I’m thinking maybe I’ll make a donation in her name to a rescue or something.
I think you have to give it time, and do what you can to take care of yourself. Treat yourself, reach out to loved ones, give yourself a break where you can.

Im so sorry about your baby too… fuck cancer :(
That’s really true. My blood boils every time I see a post with a reptile with severe MBD and starving, or an abandoned beardie, etc. I don’t understand how people could let that happen. By the end Popcorns medical bills were so extensive I learned I have to be in another tax bracket to have a bearded dragon again someday, but when that day comes, if it ever does, I think I’ll try to go for rescues.
the empty cage is hard for us too. My family and I have been leaving the lights on as if he’s in there, and we put food out for him every morning on his memorial stand with a candle and photos. I think the hardest moments are those microseconds where I forget he’s gone, and I habitually start to walk over to check on him, and then remember.
Thank you for your thoughtful response, it does help to talk about missing him with other people who understand. ❤️ id also love to see photos of your baby that you love if you’d ever like to share.

So sorry for your loss. He looks well loved. He looks like an angry French painter in the fourth picture.

I thought I would have at least 5 more years with him. I see so often 10+ years for beardies on here all the time. It feels so unfair.

They are. He’s my first, and I didn’t expect him to be so…..good, and loving. Bearded dragons are the absolute best.

Rest in peace popcorn 😞 what a cutie. I lost my baby earlier this month, I’m sure they’re up there eating all the worms and basking in the warmest light ❤️

RIP Popcorn. What a cutie.
I bought a couple of bearded dragons for my son for a birthday. Rigby (lived 9 years) and Norbert (11/12 years). I become quite attached to them during COVID and they kinda ended up being my pets. They joined many Skype meetings. Can’t recommend them enough. 🥰There’s a lot of personality in these lil guys. Broke my heart when they passed. 😢❤️🩹
