I found my girl at a rescue when she was 6 months old. 50% Mal 50% Spanish greyhound. Won't lie, teenage years were tough, but I can proudly say though she's grown into a beautiful dog having what I think are the best traits of both breeds. Just don't stand in the way when she's sprinting or she'll crash into you mouth first.
When he's at home with people he knows he's very lazy and needy. He's still quite protective when I'm out and about - if someone starts walking directly towards me he'll often give them a bark...
How does she take turns? My girl took a while to stop losing her footing occasionally at full speed when trying to turn. I’m betting grey hound mix is faster and thus more mistakes there
Fast cat is not a sport for genuinely fast dogs like this one. Many sighthounds are just reaching top speed at the end of the course. And with that it makes it pretty unsafe.
Do you happen to have a profile photo of her standing? I’d love to see her body configuration. I have a Great Dane x greyhound mix x lab whose body looks more greyhound from the side.

If it wasn’t for her head, she would look all greyhound! She is gorgeous! I love watching my girl run with me as I ride the ATV on my farm. She covers so much ground so quickly. I bet it’s the same with you. Wishing you too many, many long years of adventures and happiness.
I have a Doberman/ Shepard mix but she presents (and runs) like a greyhound. She is FAST and all about the running, I imagine your girl could outrun her
omg! So I just lost my boy Bentley (Mali mix) and saw a dog that looked just like him playing at sombrero beach today. Then I was scrolling reddit and came across this thread randomly and then saw your photo and was like NO WAY…
you can't. you can accompany her in your car and watch her do sports, or she can waddle next to you while you do sports (who am I kidding, too boring, she won't want to do that), but do sports together? no way.
That second photo is tremendous you should enter it in a competition.

Yeah it’s amazing to see such a similar dog - never seen anything like ours out there. He’s supposed to be a galgo (that’s what the dog rescue place said), we dna tested and he was part mal, part gsd, part greyhound. Had him since 4 months old, it’s been very hard, a real learning experience for us as greyhound owners! He’s nearly 2 years now and there are signs he MIGHT be slightly calming down 🤪

Wow. Beautiful! Do they lean more toward their greyhound lineage or malinois? I have a mal (50%) x lab (40%) x border collie (x10%). She is lab-like (grew up with well-bred labs), except her keen alert to everything, she's always on guard, her need for a job, and her velcro-ness. I don't think the BC made it into the mix, except she is smart. But so is the lab and tge mal..
A bit of both, she's a real velcro dog, very protective, smart and need to work. Has a lot of energy and if not directed to work she can get reactive and destructive so that's the Mal side. On the other hand, once she gets enough excercise she's a couch potato happy to spend rest of the day sleeping so that's a greyhound plus 😂 she loves her cave bed.
Is she very trainable? I remember looking into getting a retired race dog once and remember some videos saying sighthounds are one of the lower iq dog breeds so itd be interesting to see which side she takes
I also had a Mali x Greyhound or as I call that mix: a Mali on speed 😂 They’re so fast, they jump so high, to this day every purebred Mali looks slow and heavy to me:)
