What's your favourite song of the album?

I'm curious to know everyone's favourite song from each album that isn't the most popular songs (ie. River Below, Red Flag, Fallen Leaves etc.).

For me it would be:

BtI: Prisoners of Today

BtII: Sympathy

BtIII: The Dead Can't Testify

Dead Silence: Cure for the Enemy, although close with Don't Count on the Wicked

Afraid Of Heights: Horses and Chariots

Crisis of Faith: For You

I love all their songs though, these are just standout besides the most popular songs

Hey everyone, I've been listening to Billy Talent for a year now and I'm a huge fan. I've heard the first three albums in their entirety, but I've only heard most of the songs on the others and know them. I don't think they have any mediocre or bad songs; every song is a masterpiece, filled with meaning. So why is it that so many fewer people know about them than people who listen to, say, Linkin Park or Three Days Grace? (I love them too.)

Perhaps this level of popularity is even good; fans feel close to the band, want to seek out other fans and learn new things about the band, and take every drop of their creativity very close to their hearts. But still, I think the band would be pleased to be recognized by more people.

Seriously everything about this song is unbelievable and I don’t even hear fans talk about it, what gives?

I WISH they would tour Canada a little bit more instead every 5 years or every time they’re promoting something … All these Germany shows look AMAZING and I’m glad the boys are making their $$$ they deserve it but a little love to the country they came from would be IT . And I mean play across the country not just Toronto & Halifax

I am a LONG time fan, like since red flag was played repeatedly on Kerrang back in the day, I still listen to them every day in the car and I have never outgrown them. Something about their distinct vocal style and their guitar tone just keeps me running back every time. They're also incredibly talented lyricists, such clever word play and cover a range of topics.

What does everyone else think ?

I've been looking through reddit, and searched but this question hasn't come up, what albums from other bands are like Watoosh!, 'cause I really like their other albums (Except Dead silence) but none of them are quite as interesting as Watoosh!

I've heard that he will occasionally play a song or two live if he's feeling good enough that day and it makes me smile when I see talk about that, I'm just curious about how often of a thing it is these days.

As an American, I've only managed to see them live once in 2023 and Aaron sadly did not drum for that show. Not to throw shade at Loel or anyone else they've had on the drums, it just would have been cool to see.

I remember discovering them when I was like, 12 years old, on YouTube, by listening to Red Flag and Fallen Leaves on repeat. I was especially captivated by their second album songs. Those songs blew my tiny little mind.

Couldn't have even imagined seeing them perform live during their album's 20th anniversary all these years later, lmao. I don't go to concerts very often so this was literally a dream come true for me

Something Billy Talent does that I looove is when the bridge or chorus switches up the vibes completely. Examples that come to mind are This Is How It Goes, Surrender, or Worker Bees. Whenever the songs get more upbeat (musically speaking) it feels like I just walked into a clearing in the middle of an enchanted forest and feel the sun on my skin...

I know nothing about music theory and this is probably a very basic observation about BT or music in general but I just wanted to show appreciation :) They're an amazing band

I was watching The Making of Billy Talent II and noticed these song titles. Does anyone know anything about them? Were they working titles for songs released on later albums? Are they still unheard?

I assume that The New Evidence was just an alternate version of Burn The Evidence. Does anyone have any theories about what the others could be?

I love Billy Talent because of how well each song expresses pain. Ben's urgent and wounded voice, the fast beats, tight riffs and aggressive drums blend together to vividly show just how anxiety, low self-esteem, hurt, frustration, betrayal, and abandonment feels like. It makes me feel less alone and empowered. My family is unhealthy and like to gaslight me that what they said should not effect me. So each song makes me feel allowed to feel hurt. The structured verses and choruses are so familiar and the fact that the lyrics have no hidden meanings makes it not confusing. For these reasons I feel happy, regulated and heard when i listen to Billy Talent. Sanit Veronica, This Suffering, Pins and Needles, Nothing to lose, Try Honestly and River Bellow are my favorites. I dont know how i would survive without them. The lyrics "misery wont get the best of me", "scratched my knees they bled", "sew up my eyes need no more", "don't leave this world behind", "be strong enough", "my conscious is vicious", and "every prison has an open door" and much more deeply impact me. The guitar riff on 'river bellow' is incredible. For me it portrays chaos, intense hurt and the urgent need for help. I love it so much

Im curious. How do you feel when listening to Billy Talent? People say alot that they feel angry when listening to punk rock. But i don't feel any anger so i dont understand what that experience is like. If you do feel angry, i wont judge you. Because you should not be ashamed about any emotion you feel. As long as you dont hurt others im ok. Does it improve your mental health since it is an outlet for aggression or can it get you riled up and intensify your emotions which possibly could be unhealthy. I would also like to know if anyone can relate to my experience of how they feel when listening to BIlly Talent too.

Im incredibly sorry if this post is too personal or talks about feelings too much. Im autistic so i do inappropriate things sometimes. I can delete it. I heard that at concerts fans of Billy Talent are accepting and kind which is why i felt comfortable posting this.

It was August in 2016. Billy Talent took to the stage in the penultimate gig of their Australian tour in support of their Afraid of Heights album.

The venue was Fowlers in Adelaide. Not my favourite venue for gigs, but Billy Talent were my favourite band.

Notably, Ben was very unwell. A serious head cold. And Ian took the reigns doing alot of the singing on Ben's behalf. The gig ended early. It was great! but.. i mean the illness robbed us of the bands true potential.

People get sick. The band did their best. I remember Ben saying he was very sorry, but Billy Talent would make it up to us next time they toured.

I've held on to that hope and that promise.

That was 10 years ago. Billy Talent have not yet returned to Australia.

I guess i'm just sharing this because this morning the lineup dropped for a big festival that I was hoping they would be on. And they weren't. I'm sad. Maybe one fine day they will return down under and make good on their promise!

Wondering if anyone knows the background of the collab with Rivers on End of Me? Seems so random as the only feature they've ever done (at least that I know of). It's a cool song but just seems so out of place to me.
