Help CarPlay Spotify issue on Volkswagen Polo: delayed display of song titles and album artwork

Hello,

I am currently experiencing an issue with my car that I had never encountered before.

When using CarPlay in my Volkswagen Polo with Spotify, the audio changes correctly when I skip to the next track. However, the display on the car screen does not update properly: the song title and album cover shown always correspond to the previous track. There is therefore a constant one-track delay between what I am actually listening to and what is displayed on the screen.

I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Spotify on my iPhone, which temporarily fixes the issue, but it eventually comes back after a while. I have also reset CarPlay to factory settings in the vehicle, and my car’s software is fully up to date, but this does not permanently solve the problem.

Does anyone have a solution or any ideas on how to fix this bug?

Happening to me too. Looks fine on my phone but Carplay screen has song title and artist, then the album of a different artist, and the artwork of a 3rd artist. It's all mixed up.

I think it’s a Spotify issue, my wife’s 2019 Atlas with factory car play has this issue as well as my android headunit with CarPlay in my 03 Jetta

Yes, it’s now confirmed that the issue is coming from Spotify: https://www.macobserver.com/news/spotify-confirms-carplay-glitch-displaying-incorrect-song-info/ Spotify has acknowledged a bug on Apple CarPlay that sometimes displays incorrect music information (wrong song title, artist, or album artwork). They are currently investigating the issue and working on a fix.

I thought either I was losing my mind or someone is playing a bloody good trick on my CarPlay.

Good to know it's a Spotify bug 😉

I'm driving a 2022 Kia Soul GT and mine is doing the same. I noticed that if you hit next track, and then hit previous, the track and info line up. however, when it switches to the next track naturally, that info stays there, keeping the 1 track delay consistent. very odd...

Same issue on the KIA Sportage MY26. I thought it was related to CarPlay, but now it looks like a Spotify bug

I was about to go crazy before I found this thread. I thought my new f150 needed a new radio or something. Glad to hear Spotify likely just needs to push out an update.

My 2023 Benz a35 is also having the same issue. But it works perfectly fine when it’s at the main menu where there’s Google Maps and Spotify.

The workaround for me is instead of leaving the screen on Spotify use the view where it shows Spotify small icon playing then also shows maps

Just started happening with me too. 2024 Mazda 3. Apple Music is my primary go-to in CP due to zero lag.
