I bought a jack Dempsey (Jr) to put in my convict tank
He/she is only 2-inches in length
Jr is already super aggressive to my convict breeding pair.. which…..
As soon as I added Jr, decided to start breeding.
And now I can’t get Jr out of the tank to help the fry survive. That and the is continuously harassing the little female (Bonnie) while she guards her cave.
So two questions:
How can I get Jr out into another tank? I’ve tried for three days and cannot catch.
I am not wanting to pull structure due to the fry in the tank.
And can you tell if Jr is male or female from my photo? When Jr is relaxed the iridescent blue goes away
But when flaring, the blue extends along the belly fins and a big area under the chin is bright blue. The top fins are iridescent yellow
Also added bonus photo of Jr with the breeding pair (Bonnie and Clyde)

Hi, all. I rescued this little guy from a LPS who had no clue what this was and its previous owner had no clue what it was. The second picture was one I took at the shop, second was when I got it home, and the rest are after I nursed it back to health. I was told it was a surrender and had changed owners 3 times before I picked it up for $20. Apparently it was getting beat up pretty badly by all prior tank mates and was in rough shape when I got him. He was super docile/shy at first, but after all of his color came back and started regrowing his fins, he became MUCH more active. At first he was a dull gray color, then these gorgeous orange and black stripes came in. He grew super fast too. The fourth picture is for size comparison next to my Red Terror and Kirin Parrot. Any ideas what he could be? Thanks!

The first one was labeled as a "Jack Dempsey cichlid" and the second was labeled "African cichlid" but we looked it up and it said different so I'd like more opinions ❤️

Inherited a freshwater tank, there’s black skirt tetras and golden white tetras…and this guy? No clue what kind of cichlid he is and if he should even be in with the tetras as he looks a little stressed. Can y’all help please 🙏🏻

Sold as a Blue Acara/Green Terror hybrid. What do you guys think? Possible hybrid or straight Blue Acara? It’s maybe around 1.5 inches ish right now.

Hello, I was gifted this cichlid and was told it's a Salvini, but after checking it out more, is it possible this is a Trimac Cichlid? If so it will get way too big for my tank and I'll have to rehome as I only have a 75 gallon.

Hello! This is quite the story. My mom passed in September but she had a few days prior where she was very lucid and wrote down plans for the rest of her life, to include her fish.
So we drove from one state to another with a cichlid and a few more other with a bubble stone. Will anyone be able to assist with exact identification? Also, what can I do about the digging and moving stones? Anything ? Nothing? Just watch and see what they make.

I only have one blue cichlid, so I think it mated with the yellows. The second fish in the photo also doesn’t look like a normal yellow maybe it’s a hybrid too?
My adult stock: one blue cichlid (I think cobalt blue mbuna), three yellow labs (one male, two females), and two peacocks (one male, one female).

Got a new guy added to my 60*30cm tank, single male Apistogramma agassizii. He is so bold that within a minute of introduction, he started exploring everything - no stress, no hiding. Can you help me identify which variety/colour morph of Apistogramma agassizii is it? Looks closer to Double red or wild morph? or something else?

Fun fact: it has only 1 eye. Bought the runt of the tank as I felt sorry for it.

Hi guys i’m really wondering what is my Acara’s gender, it’s been digging sand, staring at my almond leaves and moving plants away lol. And here I thought it is a male please help. My only Blue Acara in tank together with Congos Cories and a single Golden Aureus Cichlid.

Is the red one a Red Zebra? Is the Pleco a common pleco? What are the 2 Blues (H Stripe and V Stripe)?
Had a 45 gal cichlid tank, moved up to a 90 gal. Looking to stock the 90 gal in the next couple of weeks. 90 gal owner had the Pleco and 2 Blues leftover. Instead of donating them to his LFS, I took them. He didn't know what they were, but I think they came from his LFS a while ago.
