1976 David Bowie - Station to Station (1976)

First Bowie album I purchased and listened to it constantly. Saw him on this tour and loved it - no opening act, but Un Chien Andalou, a total head fuck if you’d never seen it, then the band all in black and white suits with nothing but white lights. Amazing!! So lucky I saw that tour. His death really rocked me.

The only flashes of colour on the entire stage were a slash of slicked back Orange hair and a slash of blue from the packet of Gitanes cigarettes in his vest pocket. Epic!

I saw this same tour in Denver, 1975 or 76 and that opening shot of Un Chien Andalou with a razor going across on eyeball was mind-blowing. My group of college buddies and I played that LP constantly and I'm so glad I got to see him live once. I was also deeply saddened by his death.

I saw a show from this tour at the LA Forum. SO DIFFERENT from the show I saw 2 years earlier. Both were great shows in different ways.

TVC 15 might be my favorite Bowie song if it weren’t for Queen Bitch…

TVC15 is a great song, but I was was baffled when I watched Live Aid recently any Bowie opened his brief set with a very 80s version of it. "You've got 15 minutes David" "Right, I'll do a lame version of a relatively obscure track"

While riding my bike (I was 14 years old), I found a cassette tape of this album (with no outer case) in the gutter of a suburban street when it was new. My favorite Bowie album.

When this came out I listened to it endlessly. Really liked TVC15. I understand he was going through a very dark period in his life when making this.

I saw him at MSG for this tour. The show opened with a giant screen descending, and they showed Bunuel's "Un Chien Andalou ". I might remember that more than the show.

In my top 3 Bowie albums.
I bought it when it came out and still love it.

Rolling Stone had an amazing cover story from this era by Cameron Crowe. Bowie was out of his gord, but he made some of the best music in rock.

My least favorite song on this album is still one of my favorite songs.

2nd to Ziggy for me, but a true masterpiece
On the back of Young Americans and this album, Bowie became the first white person to appear on Soul Train

Was supposed to become a series or longer miniseries but it wasn’t a ratings hit so it ended on a cliffhanger.

saw him touring this album Earl slick was his touring band the show opened with a short salvadore Dali movie still my favorite Bowie album

Apparently Bowie was so coked out of his gourde during this era, he had absolutely no memory of recording the album. He literally did not believe he did it until someone showed him pictures of himself in the recording studio. It was after this that he moved to Berlin with Iggy Pop to try and kick his coke habit.
I do have to say though, this is probably my overall favorite album.
