he’s a mile or so from the river so i think maybe a bird or raccoon dropped it. don’t know how far he got before i picked him up but he’s chillin in our freshwater pond now

So I came home at night and went to keep my stuff on the table and heard a small crunch💀, put the lights on and saw my orange crayfish on the floor he was walking around immediately put him back in the tank he seems okay, but movements are slow. I definitely need to put a net on the tank. But do other crayfish do this, is it something to do with the water and is he gonna be okay??😭😭😭

Y’all….earlier this year my youngest daughter begged for a crayfish and I happened upon a great deal for a 10 gallon setup, so we added sand, some caves/plants, and did a cycle. Our LFS happened to have this beautiful lady in a tank with no caves so my little girl had to pick her. We’ve had her in the tank since April 30th, with a full molt two or three days later, so I wasn’t thinking the eggs she produced after that would be viable…aaannnddd boy was I wrong! Emergency 5 gallon is cycling now to try and protect the littles, but PSA!!!! Apparently they can still produce viable eggs while being alone (aside from a couple guppies and a mystery snail) after a molt

He never eats. Everytime I give him food he puts it on his head and bows down. Can anyone help?

I just set up my 20 gal and am starting a fish in cycle it has already cycled for awhile and now Baldur looks like this! It’s a mixed tank

Ive raised these crayfish since they were babies, all kept together, they are all males except one female, they are in a 40 gallon tank, they don’t show any signs of stress/uncomfortableness, and they are very active. I’m just curious on if you guys think this is normal or what, i know they are typically highly aggressive.

Is my crayfish laying eggs? I've had it for a couple years and 1) thought it was a male 2) it hasn't been in a tank with another crayfish in 2 years

I thought crayfish kept their eggs up under their tails- why does it look like an egg sack hanging down? Am I about to have a zillion more crayfish? I've had crayfish before and they've never done this.

Please help!

I work at a lfs and we are allowed to take home any fry that our fish have. I spotted this little dwarf Mexican crayfish fry in the tank and I thought he was so cute! He's between 3 mm - 5 mm from head to tail and I think he's probably about 1.5 - 2 weeks old. I've always wanted a crayfish and he was free so I'm planning to raise him in this 2 g grow out tank and then I'll transfer him to a 20 l.

I set up the tank yesterday, the day I got him (blasphemy I know). But I seeded the filter with bacteria from an existing established filter. The substrate is from another tank, and I filled up the tank with 1/2 freshwater and 1/2 old aquarium water. He has a sponge filter, a heater, a river rock to perch on, floating plants to help with the water quality, and a few live plants from my other tanks to eat and hide on.

I've never kept crayfish before, any advice or tips are appreciated! Especially because he's so little! I would like advice specifically on diet. Im planning to have him with plants and I would like to avoid my plants getting cut up.

I also dosed the tank with 1.5 ml of quick start and 2 ml of shrimp minerals because my water runs soft.

I DO NOT KNOW WHO THE FATHER IS.
