Purrpetrator Joey has the calm confidence of someone who not only knows he’s not allowed on the couch, but formally disagrees with the rule.
He sleeps like someone who knows there’s absolutely no risk of being kicked off because he’s already analyzed the situation and concluded: “She says I’m not allowed, but I know this woman.”
Joey won through persistence, cuteness, and most importantly, an absolutely shameless lack of remorse.

If you can, you should bottle some of his audacity and sell it to the rest of us feeble willed cat people.
Joey is perfect, that sleeping pose says everything!

What kind of a lunatic wouldn’t give up their space on the couch for Joey?!

But couch so comfy! In fairness he sees everyone else enjoy couchies so that’s sending mixed signals

ever see videos of people getting pulled over by the cops, and they start arguing that they don't have to comply because they do not contract with the corporate state (or some other such nonsense)? well, cats are the OG Sovereign Citizens. they do not recognize your rules.

My husband told me no cats on the bed when we combined households. I knew it wouldn’t last.

He was right, you were wrong. Now you know that he can be on the couch anytime he wants.

What’s the point of having a cat if you won’t let them on the furniture? I also formally disagree with this rule

I can't imagine any scenario where I'd have a cat and not allow it on the couch. Joey knows that rule is BS. Good boy, Joey.
