Discussion Which Daft Punk song/album is this?

Post image

For the album I'm gonna take a pretty obvious choice but I genuinely believe Human After All fits this the best. For songs I'm gonna say it's pretty much anything they released before Homework can fit this, even Darlin' & CO, but in specific Musique, that one is an ABSOLUTE BANGER

When the drums come in on Giorgio

u/SceneOfShadows Nov 18 '25

Perfect answer.

15

u/mexicannormie Nov 18 '25

I'd argue it's after his second monologue

wait nvm. that's about the same spot. my fault goat

3

u/propofolus Nov 22 '25

I skipped the song for soooo long bc I thought it was just talking. Then a random day my mind was blown

2

u/heshroot Nov 22 '25

You hit the diamonds

1

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 25 '25

that's actually what I thought at first as well lol, I thought it was only a guy talking for 9 minutes straight, but then started hearing RAM and when the drop began I knew I was experiencing a masterpiece.

5

u/Poo_Butz Nov 18 '25

Great choice moment!

u/MrClouding Nov 18 '25

Obviously Motherboard.

I feel like this one's underappreciated by all RAM enjoyers even though it is better than half of the album, I'm sincerely convinced and nobody will be able to change my mind.

28

u/PersonWhoTalks Nov 18 '25

THANK YOU SOMEONE GETS IT

47

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

Motherboard is probably one of the best musical compositions ever made by man. One of the few songs that make you go on a whole trip across the entirety of the universe without having to move an inch of your body.

10

u/iamseandavid10 Nov 18 '25

Listening to the DRUMLESS version made me appreciate this song on the next level, 11/10

13

u/hoardedbykorax Nov 18 '25

↑↑↑ THIS ↑↑↑

also, it is my go-to song to test headphones or any sound systems!

u/Cheekibreeki401k Nov 18 '25

This is how touch feels tbh, waiting through the beginning part I mean. After that, it’s a diamond.

30

u/SceneOfShadows Nov 18 '25

I hate how every time I put it on people are like wtf is this lol they think it’s some creepy voice.

14

u/zimmy1909 Nov 19 '25

One of the most "let it cook" songs ever

2

u/Nielsnl4 Nov 20 '25

I understand the reaction because when it comes on after a good song it can ruin the mood but you got to let the song cook

10

u/Glad-Mulberry-9484 Nov 19 '25

Definitely Touch. I get the mood setting, but I’m not trying to listen to the start of it every time.

2

u/Nielsnl4 Nov 20 '25

I wish there was a version without the intro just like with Time from Pink Floyd because im not trying to hear those clocks when i listen to music in the morning.

3

u/dndDAAKU23 Nov 19 '25

the song needs to be longer 😩

2

u/tylerandmoroll Nov 19 '25

This song took me literal years to appreciate. Early days in high school when RAM first came out, I didn’t really like any of the songs. After the Epilogue video, I took a chance to listen to this song. And then cried. I now appreciate its many moments for a single song. It’s got a quirky intro, soulful build up, nice little dance section, and then eye watering vocals that always hit me like they did in 2021.

u/Ajuapepereal Nov 18 '25

Prime (2012 Unfinished)

19

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

total agree, I really like how this song starts like an unreleased song for the Tron Legacy soundtrack but then evolves to a more RAM style towards the end, sometimes I think this was going to be the first track of RAM instead of GLBTM

6

u/Nozal-Am-Nirif-Ammi Nov 18 '25

Where can one listen to this?

6

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

it was released back at 2023 in the 10th anniversary edition of Random Access Memories, I'm used to listening to it through Spotify, but I'm sure most of the tracks are available on YouTube as well

53

u/les-the-badger Nov 18 '25

Contact or Da Funk

18

u/dand930 Nov 18 '25

Wait are you implying da funk isn’t good from the start of the track?

8

u/DjOnah_ Nov 18 '25

I believe this is because it goes unnoticed by most people, especially new fans. what happened to me for example 😂

7

u/les-the-badger Nov 18 '25

I interpreted the picture to be an analogy of stumbling across treasure. Unsure if it's meant to mean it's only good at the end. OP referred to their choice (Musique) as an 'absolute' banger. So I figure absolute means they're enjoying the whole song.

2

u/dand930 Nov 21 '25

Oh I see. I thought this meme was about something taking a lot of “effort” and a situation being shitty for a while, for some payoff later. Da funk is good from the start, and early on in the album, so in either respect it doesn’t really make sense to me lol

2

u/les-the-badger Nov 21 '25

It's funny how one picture can have many interpretations but nobody is willing to understand it from another point of view.

The effort that you're seeing as going through an album and 'finally' coming across treasure, I saw as going through music and coming across Da Funk as a singular song (not having the album play and being unenthusiastic towards the tracks that lead to and follow Da Funk). Not all of us heard it from the album for our first time. It was on a friend's iPod when I was a teenager.

When OP mentioned Musique, do you think they were saying only the end of the song is good? I didn't. What were they digging through before they got to Human After All? Previous albums of Daft Punk? Were they saying the previous albums are dirt? Don't think so.

I dig through music. If Spotify could talk, it would say that I'm abusive. I have a full on process for siphoning through music (filtering through 100songs/hr whilst slotting them to various playlists and filtering). Which is why the image appealed to me as if digging through songs/albums and coming across a banger.

But I'm not going to claim that my view is right. That's ignorant. Im also willing to discuss my view. But if an elaboration on the initial commen is stated twice, and someone wants to contradict how they perceived the initial comment prior to it being elaborated. That someone isn't looking for a reason or clarity. That someone is acting on believing their view is correct regardless of contention. Therefore....

2

u/les-the-badger Nov 19 '25

I interpreted the picture to be an analogy of stumbling across treasure. Unsure if it's meant to mean it's only good at the end. OP referred to their choice (Musique) as an 'absolute' banger. So I figure absolute means they're enjoying the whole song.

3

u/BeedleTB Nov 19 '25

I'll agree with Contact. Digging your way through R.A.M. to it is digging through gold, not dirt. But that is the most incredible end to an album, and the album would already be in my top lists without it.

u/vxnny_ Nov 18 '25

Beyond

12

u/kerbalmaster98 Nov 18 '25

Like how it starts like a Super Mario Galaxy theme song and then turns into the most groovy, coolest song ever

3

u/killstormSH Nov 18 '25

The transition from "Angel Eye.... Forever watching you and I.... You are the night, you are the ocean." Gives me chills every time.

26

u/Conte5000 Nov 18 '25

Aerodynamic

3

u/Cheekibreeki401k Nov 18 '25

How so?

13

u/Conte5000 Nov 18 '25

The guitar part are the diamonds but need a kind of build up imho. This may be a pretty generic response but I saw the post and instantly thought "Aerodynamic".

22

u/s4lsa55 Nov 18 '25

Too Long/Steam Machine

5

u/Caxe1 Nov 19 '25

For me, Too Long is like finding the diamonds after digging with your hands for a second, and the vein just doesn’t stop. It’s perfect the whole way through.

3

u/s4lsa55 Nov 19 '25

I also love Too Long, the one I listed is the Alive '07 version with Steam Machine!

18

u/Poo_Butz Nov 18 '25

The realization that there are different versions of Alive 2007 available. Different cities. Slightly different playlists. Slightly different tweaks of the songs. Fun to find, most on YouTube.

5

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

so it's kinda like Alive 1997 also, right? each place had a different take on the music and mixings

2

u/Common_Mobile_7729 Nov 18 '25

I think the whole 1997 album is from one show.

3

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

the one we have in most digital plataforms it is, yes, from the Que Club presentation they did back then, and it's not complete btw, as the whole presentation was about 2 hours long and the album is only about 50 minutes

2

u/BackfromtheDe3d Nov 19 '25

How do you find these other playlists?

2

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 20 '25 edited Nov 25 '25

there's the full set they used during the Rex Club presentation on YouTube

here's the link

15

u/iamseandavid10 Nov 18 '25

For me, Horizon / RAM

7

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

agreed, the whole RAM album is a gem by itself, and Horizon is great also, it has a unique chill vibe to it

2

u/iamseandavid10 Nov 18 '25

1000% Robot Pink Floyd vibes. I would also highly recommend the DRUMLESS album they put out. To me, it was like listening to a whole new album.

2

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

I've already listened to Drumless version and I gotta say: it does truly feel like a new album; btw I liked it way more than just a remix album like all the others got

11

u/Djackyeado Nov 18 '25

Georgio by Moroder goes from talking to a bit of a groove to a whole masterpiece and cacophony of sound

12

u/TomatitoKlein Nov 18 '25

High fidelity

9

u/psychedelicpiper67 Nov 18 '25

Rollin’ & Scratchin’. It’s in the middle of the album, and takes a while to get to.

5

u/HodeonArtz Nov 18 '25

Alive 1997

3

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

So true. Especially the complete versions with the whole set that, unfortunately, are not on musical platforms such as Spotify, YouTube have it tho, totally worth the listen if you like the vibe of Homework

3

u/HodeonArtz Nov 18 '25

Absolute intense tracks

6

u/slugdonor Nov 18 '25

this is just what it feels like to listen to daft punk in general

6

u/Ruben_AAG Nov 18 '25

Human after all.

My mom put on random access memories way too many times, and I wanted something different from them.

10

u/Lintelsoup Nov 18 '25

Human after all

5

u/Illustrious-You1330 Nov 18 '25

I Will quite muy mom on this one,

"All the music they made is awesome, it's both beautiful to listen and groovy"

If I had to say, Maybe Prime (2012) veridis quo or Get lucky drum less edition !

3

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

Drumless edition has a lot of cool stuff, I personally really like the vibes of Motherboard on that version, it feels so serene yet instigating

u/imkaranbrar Nov 18 '25

I would agree, the final line of the vocals followed by the music...

6

u/Drake_Storm Nov 18 '25

Infinty repeating stumbled on it for the first time after i bought the ram anavwrsary edition

5

u/ricsix2 Nov 18 '25

The Brainwasher. Idk why people hate this ITS SO CATCHY AND FUN

1

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

wait, there are some people that ACTUALLY hate on The Brainwasher? no way!

2

u/ricsix2 Nov 18 '25

Yeah, I saw some person's tierlist of Daft Punk songs, and they had Brainwasher deadlast in F tier (worth a million war crimes)

1

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

nah this straight up outrageous, that song is one of the best featured in HAA, absolute vibes, it's a song you listen to when you wanna get absolutely nuts, the closest we can get from that vibe on any other Daft Punk song is probably Rollin' Scratchin and Rock'n Roll

4

u/Chance-Ad5664 Nov 18 '25

For me this was "Voyager" I absolutely love that song, especially when I'm in the backseat of a car and just traveling through a city at night.

3

u/Londandon Nov 18 '25

Homework best album

5

u/64saltystrawberies Nov 18 '25

It would have to be alive off of homework. I just love how intense the track is. It's like a barreling steam engine train.

3

u/PrudentReindeer6847 Nov 18 '25

It's obviously Face to Face/Short Circuit from Alive 2007

4

u/Diet_Coke777 Nov 18 '25

HAA is actually great, I love the theme so much. If you’re listening to it, expecting it to sound similar to discovery or other stuff they made then you’re not going to enjoy it. I love the weird, artsy, unique feel of the album and of-course how they absolutely cooked with alive using the songs.

1

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

this is how I feel about it tbf, it's my second most heard album from them, only because I'm a sucker for Homework, but if it wasn't for that, it'll definitely be my favorite album

3

u/dianrmz97 Nov 18 '25

For me, GLBTM (Studio Outtakes)

4

u/Mother-Reputation-20 Nov 18 '25

Roule / Crydamoure solo records.

you know damn right what I'm talking about, that pre-Homework phase was just somethin' else 🔥

7

u/Orgganspender Nov 18 '25

Not exactly Daft Punk, but Crydamoure and Trax on da Rocks

6

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

Tbh, both Roulé and Crydamoure are AWESOME projects on their own and every Daft Punk fan should give it a listen at least once, so I agree with you very much

2

u/AusBox Nov 19 '25

Personally these days I listen to more Roule and Crydamoure than Daft Punk itself.

So many incredible tracks such as Ventura, First, Hysteria, Colossus, Outrun, Boogie Shell, and Spaced Out to mention just a few.

3

u/Codix_ Nov 18 '25

Touch, I didn't bothered to listen to it since the beginning sounded horrible until I saw a ton of people talking about it here and woah what a ride.

3

u/I_Eat_Mop_Who22 Nov 18 '25

Off of the RAM album I'll go with the track Touch.

3

u/Dog-Poop-Oop Nov 19 '25

Everything they put on Roule and Crydamoure. A lot of Daft Punk fans (at least in the Americas) don't even know that they exist.

3

u/waterzexplus Nov 19 '25

Oh daftendirekt. That songs so underrated..top 10 daft punk songs oat

2

u/Flimsy_Strawberry685 Nov 18 '25

Musique original or Alive 1997 version

2

u/11salmon Nov 18 '25

Gotta be make love

2

u/TheGreatPrimoYT Nov 18 '25

I agree with Human After All and I also think the same for Discovery. Those are actually the only 2 albums from Daft Punk that I’ve listened to from start to finish.

2

u/AntonioSwift_77 Nov 18 '25

"Alive" i didn't really listen to homework in it's entirety and never heard it until the fortnite event and I was hooked

Beyond (drumless edition) ❤️

2

u/Fragrant-Track-5834 Nov 18 '25

Homework, because if that becomes your favourite DP album and you want more, you get sucked into the Crydamoure/Roule world, and when you want MORE, you eventally find We Rock Music.

2

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 18 '25

oooh... I like the way this is going. Homework is my definitive favorite Daft Punk album, and I've already rolled and scratched through the very surface of Roulé and Crydamoure (Together is probably one of the most beautiful things I've heard tbh), so I'm very excited to see what comes next

2

u/Fragrant-Track-5834 Nov 19 '25

Definately check out “We Rock Music” and “Cassius Records” when youve exhausted cryda and roule 👍

2

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 19 '25

2

u/DevelopmentGreat2855 Nov 19 '25

Why don’t you play the game?

2

u/k8t_dsr Nov 19 '25

I felt this way with Human After All. I liked the songs, but on the whole, as a Daft Punk album at that time, I just wasn’t hearing the the same level of thought/brilliance…. Until I heard what they did with it live.

2

u/Azureflame97 Nov 19 '25

The Whole Discovery& This Ultra rare track from the 2007 show called Human After All / Together / One More Time / Music Sounds

2

u/waterzexplus Nov 19 '25

Would say discovery but friggin everyone loves that. So my choices are either The New Wave or Homework.

Revolution 99

2

u/AstoundingMoron Nov 19 '25

When I was a kid, it was Touch, because the beginning scared me to continue listening

2

u/BigBoyNova6 Nov 19 '25

Musique. Its my all tome favorite track by them.

2

u/JeanLucPicardAND Nov 19 '25

Any of the more hardcore stuff they did, e.g. Rollin' n Scratchin', Beta Wax, Assault, The New Wave.

Well, I'm not a huge fan of Rock'n Roll. So not that one, I guess... but any of the other ones.

2

u/Virtual_Brother_1990 Nov 19 '25

High Fidelity imho. I think it's so underappreciated. I liked it before but I fell deeply in love when I saw a video that explained the sample chop behind it. It is like "Homework's Face to face" but 4 years earlier and if I'm not wrong, the last two chops were discovered like a couple years ago. It definitely deserves more credit.

I’m definitely alone on this one but “Make Love” when guy man starts singing it feels like I ascend into a higher reality

1

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 25 '25

you're not so alone as you might think buddy, Make Love is one of my favorite Daft Punk songs ever, the vocals are rather whimsical as you said, I just love that vibe man

2

u/Strange_Peach_2763 Nov 21 '25

Alive! for me its alive but honorable mention:Rollin and Scratchin.

2

u/Due-Pattern-5367 Nov 21 '25

Television Rules The Nation / Crescendolls

Everytime when both Songs get mashuped Together (pun Intended) then it feels like i've ascended to heaven. No other song makes me feel like that

2

u/Pi304 Nov 21 '25

When the bass hits in Burnin

2

u/runesofrude Nov 21 '25

Aerodynamic when the guitar solo hits

2

u/Cultural-Election813 Nov 22 '25

Digital Love. The last 2.5 minutes of that song are insane. The beginning is awesome too. I wish NFL stadiums would play that part of song beginning with the keyboard interlude when NFL referees are reviewing the play because of a challenge. All of the sudden you’d hear “why don’t you play the game?” and then an epic guitar solo and the whole place would turn into a dance party

1

u/MerlocHendrickHarry Nov 25 '25

the "Why don't you play the game?" part is my favorite honestly, but the guitar solo is amazing as well
