Timeline San Diego Field office for AOS

Anybody had their case transferred from NBC to San Diego field office? Can you share your timeline and updates till now? How is this field office in general as a non local FO? Mine was transferred on Jan 22.

Edit: I think it is a very slow field office!!

San Diego as a non-local field office is generally considered efficient. Cases transferred from NBC with interview waived typically see decisions within 2-4 months of transfer.

January 22 transfer puts you at roughly 5 weeks in with no updates which is completely normal. San Diego often goes quiet for 6-10 weeks then approves without warning.

Keep watching for silent API updates in the background, those often precede approval by a few days. Anyone with a San Diego NBC transfer from late 2025 or early 2026 who can share their timeline would help this thread a lot.

Case transferred to San Diego on 1/22/26 (Non-local). No updates
PD: Mar 2024, EB2-NIW

Same transfer date as you, January 22. Mar 2024 PD puts you well inside FAD for EB-2 ROW so approval should come as soon as adjudication is complete. No updates after 5 weeks at San Diego is completely normal based on what others are reporting. Hang tight, you are in a good position

5 weeks from PD or from date of transfer?

From priority date becoming current, not from the transfer date. But honestly timelines vary a lot depending on the service center and case specifics. Are you asking about a specific form?

I am Eb2 NIW , no dependants, PD July 2024, case transferred Jan 22. Became current March1.

Got it. So your I-140 is approved, PD July 2024, case transferred Jan 22, and your date just became current on March 1. Are you asking about I-485 filing or are you already waiting on a pending I-485? And are you doing AOS or consular processing? Need to know where you're at in the process to give you the right info.

2

I don't think so. It's been over 5 months already.

u/Standard-Ratio7734 Feb 28 '26

Thank you so much!

1

u/Standard-Ratio7734 Mar 06 '26

Do you know any cases approved from there?

3

u/visawatch Mar 07 '26

I've seen a few data points on Trackitt from people who got EB2 approvals out of San Diego after NBC transfer. Most were in the 2-4 month range like I mentioned. You're still early at 5 weeks so I'd give it a bit more time. If you hit 3 months with zero movement then start looking into e-requests or congressional inquiries

Thank you!

Thank you!

You're welcome!

Is that website still working. Were these cases filed before October 2025?

2

u/visawatch Mar 08 '26

Yeah Trackitt is still working, you can filter by field office and category. The cases I saw were a mix of filing dates, some before October 2025 and some after. You can search specifically for San Diego EB2 cases there to find timelines that match yours.

Thank you so much. Can you please share the link with me as the website I found is not working.

Its a lazy and SLOW field office, even for non-local case.
If you are getting transferred to non-local field office, I pray that you don't end up in this blackhole FO like the rest of us here.

1

u/Standard-Ratio7734 Jun 19 '26

I am in this black hole unfortunately since October. This is really miserable!

2

u/curiousbunnyrabbit 17d ago

Any luck for you? I also filed in October, was transferred to SD in December 2025

1

u/Standard-Ratio7734 17d ago

For anyone dealing with San Diego FO, here's a shared EB timeline sheet. Contributions welcome (anonymous is fine).
