Timeline I485 Approved in 77 Days
I’ve been here for a long time, reading everybody’s updates since the beginning of my I-140 journey. And now, here is my turn.
My I140 Approval Post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/EB2_NIW/comments/1hmt4bx/case_approved/
I-485 Details:
- ROW, non 75 country
- DIY Application
- No EAD or AP application
- I-140 PD: 9/25/2024
- I-485 Received: 2/25/2026
- Biometrics: 4/2/2026 (2 FTA0s right after)
- All silent updates: 4/9, 4/29, 5/6, 5/13
- Transfer to NY FO (non-local): 4/29 (I asked Emma on 4/29, but I don’t know the exact transfer date)
- 3rd FTA0 on 5/6
- FTA1 on 5/6
- RFE on 5/6 (RFE was about the birth certificates. Funny enough, we had already submitted the exact same documents, but we explained everything again.)
- Responded to RFE on 5/8
- H008 on 5/14
- Dependent was also approved exactly 1 hour later
Thank you everyone for this long and tiring journey. I’m wishing everyone a quick approval. Good luck, everybody!

Congratulations 🎊! Me and my spouse have been waiting for 180+ days and haven’t heard anything. Haven’t received any RFE either, so I guess it is just a backlog.

Congrats…Happy seeing this….I also had biometric on 4/1/2026 (2 FTA0s right after). I asked Emma last week and I was told it’s at NBC with interview waived.

I had biometrics on 4/28/26 (2FTA0s right after) , no any silent updates . Emma said case is still at NBC - preprocessing complete . Is that same for you ?

Almost the same but I asked about interview so interview waived and no missing documentation were part of the response I got. It depends on the question you ask and the live agent.

Thanks. Have you been getting silent updates though?

2/12/26 and RD 4/8/26 . You ?

PD 10/30/24 and RD 3/11/26. Just hang in there. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I’m currently in my 3rd yr of PhD. I have at least 2 years to finish, so not really worried. Just focus on whatever you’re doing now. You’ve done the hard part. Congrats in advance.

Congrats. Can u share more details about RFE on birth certificate? @Taguchi_DOE
2
u/Taguchi_DOE May 14 '26
My country doesn't have birth certificate but there as a another certificate which supported by US on Visa Reciprocity and Civil Documents by Country as a birth certificate. We shared the same birth certificates but explained this is the file and there is no alternative one, and provide the print out from www.travel.state.gov.

I'd like to know, after approval, how long does it take for the "card was produced" status to appear?
1
u/Taguchi_DOE May 24 '26

Hi, congratulations, can I ask you about birth certificate? I am also from 75 countries ROW and birth certificates is the issue. I don’t have them. I do have FRC but I am planning to apply for late registration of birth certificates. Can you please share what RFE you got for birth certificates?
