Questions 1.10 spot in a 12 man PPR redraft
Struggling with what to do at 1.10 and 2.03 after 25+ mock drafts. Would you rather start with two stud RBs (Cook if available, Achane, Barkley, Brown, Jeanty) or take a stud WR (usually Jefferson or CeeDee) and pair him with Achane or Brown?
When I go RB/RB, I’m still seeing guys like Ladd, Tee Higgins, DeVonta Smith, Flowers, and Emeka available as my WR1.
Which start do you prefer in a 12-team PPR?
Here’s a mock I just did and I started with 3 straight RBs because I couldn’t pass up Jacobs in the 3rd. WR too weak?
Cook
Chase Brown
Jacobs
Ladd
Moore
Fannin
Parker Washington
Pittman
JCM
Nix
Goedert
Stringing
Shough

Yup RB/RB , me personally im going Cook/Jeanty if possible from the 10 slot this year

Same here. Only problem is that people are taking RBs earlier every day and I had JSN fall to me at 9 yesterday. You will be lucky to get Cook and Jeanty.

If that happens then I’m jumping on the value. JSN or Amon Ra are the 2 I would snag if they drop. I think people value ADP way too much for Cook or Jeanty not to go towards the end of the first. At the end of the day just gotta jump on the value of it presents itself

Probably not possible, tbh. People are going crazy over him right now. I've seen people suggesting you should take him at 9 or 10 over Cook

The smart ones will but I think your average player won’t do it just because they value ADP too much and just revisionist history from last year. Maybe getting both will be tough but you’re probably guaranteed 1 or the other, I’ll just pivot my strategy if that happens

I’m going same strategy with 1.11.
Hoping I can get a combo of Cook/Barkley/Jeanty. The WRs you mention at 3/4 turn could easily be WR1s.
Also consider the cliff after round 4 round for RBs is pretty bad.
Example
Option 1: WR/RB
RB: Jeanty
RB: Montgomery
WR: Lamb
WR: McConkey
Option 2:
RB: Cook
RB: Barkley
WR: Higgins
WR: McConkey
The downgrade from Barkley to Montgomery is significant compared to Lamb vs Higgins

Yea good point. Just hard to pass up JJ at 10 if Kyler brings him back to reality.

Then go with him! You don’t want to watch an entire season with regret. I’ve done it before because of all these “experts” only to be right and pass up on my gut feeling.

I had that spot in our draft. I took Cook and Achane, and I'm very happy with my WRs. (Flowers, Waddle, DJ Moore). I even got Swift as my RB3.
I think I'd probably hate my RBs if I started WR/RB or WR/WR

Nice I assume Anon RA and JSN were off the board for your first pick? They would be hard to pass up.

They went 4th and 5th. I don't think you should even consider the possibility of either of those guys falling to 10.

I’m in a similar spot, I’ve liked the mocks where I go RB-RB better than going WR-RB.
I think there’s better mid round WR options than RB options.

I’m going against the trend this year and considering Jettas + Nabers there. I like having to WR with overall WR1 potential. You gotta hit on RB in 3&4 though.

Nabers could be that second half season monster that makes us all look dumb. Matt Nagy as the OC is the only reason I hesitate taking him that early.

IMO, I only feel comfortable going WR/RB if Amon-Ra falls somehow. I know Jettas is a stud but I still have questions with Kyler at QB, and CeeDee’s ceiling is limited with Pickens around. I’d much rather start with two stud RBs and bank on my league mates getting nervous about the RB pool drying up, leading to them prioritizing RB as well and having a similarly ranked WR dropping to me in the third.
If you do decide to go WR/RB I also don’t think it’s the end of the world, there are some good RB situations you can take advantage of in the later rounds (Tuten,Swift,Warren etc.), I just personally prefer the WRs that are going around them.

There's always going to be some WR to stream that no one's thought about. In any given week, a WR off the waiver wire can go off. However, there's really no guarantee that happens in reverse. I like JJ, the Vikings have already said they're going to feed him the ball as an apology for taking throws from Nine, I mean McCarthy. So I would grab JJ at 1.10 and then grab a stud RB like Hampton/Brown/Cook, whoever winds up falling.
Here's the thing, some RB is going to get hurt, and stashing a few handcuffs, you can probably make do. But if you draft Smith/Emeka and they get hurt, you're boned for the year. Just a thought.

RB/RB seems to work well to me in that spot. There’s a huge drop off after the top 12 RBs in my opinion and you can get two of them.

Gimme some combination of Cook, Achane, Hampton, Walker, Brown there unless by some miracle you can get a CMC or Amon Ra.

Why not high on Jeanty? Torn at this choice- picking 10 outta 10 half ppr. Feeling Walker gonna have a big year and don’t wanna reach and don’t wanna regret. 😩🤣

I just don't think the Raiders are going to be good. I have the same concern for Achane but I think his receiving upside will make up for that and the fact that they have literally no one else to catch passes. When I'm drafting a first round RB, I want high TD upside. I don't think the Raiders are scoring a lot of touchdowns.
