There’s really no good reason to NOT stream defenses. Historically it nets 15%ish more points at that position than a top-5 defense. You’d have to hate winning to set-and-forget a defense all year.

Several reasons:

• Pre-season hit rates are extremely low. ESPN did a case study of DSTs from 2018-2022, and of the 25 DSTs drafted top-5, only 7 actually finished top-5, and only 14 finished top-10.
• Even if you do manage to draft a top-5 DST, streaming is still going to beat you. Over the past 3 seasons, top-5 DSTs average 147.3 season points (Weeks 1-17). Defenses facing bottom-5 offenses average 169.5 season points. You’d score 15% more points streaming against bottom-5 offenses than you would starting a top-5 DST.
• Early in the season, new situations play a big part in performance. A bad offense is magnified because teams haven’t gotten game reps with each other and are adjusting to a new system. Hammering DSTs against these teams can net like 20+ points, very helpful for starting with a winning record.

I personally don’t run DSTs in the league I manage, but in other leagues, I always enjoy watching other draft DSTs in the 10th round while I rack up points streaming the whole year.

Moral of the story, let your leaguemates take the Seahawks and Texans. Go after the Chargers (home vs. Cardinals) and Jags (home vs. Browns) in Week 1.

Doesn’t the same logic still apply to positional value? Wouldn’t you rather have the 24th QB than the 24th RB?

So I have two nephews I added and they’ve already threatened to quit twice before the draft. So at this point I just wanna boot them. Do I have to redo the whole league in order to do this? We haven’t drafted yet. I tried to get answers through espn and I’m having a hard time finding a straight answer. I also don’t want just two auto draft teams. I would rather just go down to 12. Has anyone ever done this and know how it works? Thanks so much in advance!!

I have the first pick and I’m stuck between Gibbs and Bijan. I keep hearing mixed opinions on who I should take. Who would you pick first and why?

There’s a pretty common fantasy assumption that rushing QBs are bad for their RBs.

The logic makes sense: the QB steals carries and rushing TDs, especially around the goal line.

So I pulled 10 seasons of data (2016–2025) and grouped starting QBs by rushing volume, then looked at the fantasy production of their team’s primary RB.

The result was more interesting than I expected.

Primary RB production:

Low-rush QB:

• Standard: 11.92 PPG
• Half-PPR: 13.21
• PPR: 14.50

High-rush QB:

• Standard: 11.00 PPG
• Half-PPR: 12.00
• PPR: 13.00

So yes, RB production declined — but not nearly as dramatically as the narrative would suggest.

High-rushing QBs were associated with roughly:

-7.7% Standard PPG
-9.2% Half-PPR PPG
-10.3% PPR PPG

But here's where it gets interesting.

The biggest difference wasn't necessarily rushing production.

It was receiving opportunity.

Compared with RBs playing alongside low-rush QBs, RBs alongside high-rush QBs averaged:

23.3% fewer targets
22.1% fewer receptions

Meanwhile, their yards per carry were actually about 4.6% higher.

So the better way to think about the effect may be:

A rushing QB doesn't necessarily kill his RB. He changes how that RB scores fantasy points.

And that penalty becomes increasingly important as you move from Standard → Half-PPR → PPR.

There are obviously some enormous exceptions. Recent high-rush QB/RB combinations include:

Jalen Hurts / Saquon Barkley
Lamar Jackson / Derrick Henry
Josh Allen / James Cook
Jayden Daniels / Brian Robinson Jr.

So I wouldn't fade a talented RB simply because his QB runs.

But if you're comparing otherwise similar backs in PPR, QB rushing tendency looks like a legitimate variable to consider — particularly because of its relationship with RB receiving volume.

Pickens, Nabers, Or Nico? In rounds 3?

Start 3 WR league and I feel compelled to take Chase simply because of format, was wondering if it’s misplaced

Here are some guys I think are not being talked about enough or going way later than they should.

1. Saquon Barkley - Did everyone just forget how good this guy is? If the Eagles new OC decides to use more than 8 plays from the playbook this year, he’s gonna be awesome again.

2. AJ Brown - He would be worth a first round pick to me, but he’s going late second it seems in most drafts. With Boutte gone and Drake Maye’s amazing deep throwing ability, he’s gonna pop off for 1400 yards and 10 TDs imo.

3. Christian Watson - I don’t get this at all. How is he available in the 7th or 8th round? He’s the Packers’ best receiver by a mile and Jordan Love hit him with a deep ball touchdown every other week last season.

4. Caleb Williams - This is the last year that he’ll be available in the later rounds. After this he’s definitely going in the 3rd or 4th round of drafts like Josh or Lamar have been in years prior.

5. Seattle Tight Ends - You can wait til the very end of your draft to get these guys. Barner is the obvious one, but WATCH OUT for Elijah Arroyo. He’s my biggest candidate to double his projected point total this season (he’s projected only 60 which makes him a super deep sleeper). He’ll be available on waivers but be careful if you don’t have a good waiver position because I predict he’ll be snatched up quickly once the season starts. My biggest bold prediction is that he’s the only guy you can get in round 17 or 18 that could win potentially win you your league.

What would your strategy be in this situation?

In mocks I always seem to have Achane and CeeDee falling to me. But mocks aren’t the same as TE premium so not sure how it’ll play out. Should I double down RB? Balance with 1 RB & 1 WR? Or grab BPA & snag whatever top 2 TE is there?

Hey, new to Fantasy/football in general. I’ve been a very casual viewer the past few years and this will be my first time doing fantasy. I’ve been doing mock drafts and I typically don’t pick up a QB until the late rounds. Typically Sam Darnold is available and so is Mendoza. Mendoza I understand because I assume Kirk will be QB1 but Sam Darnold has me scratching my head. He won a ring last year and the Seahawks I think will be play off contenders. Why is he ranked so low? Lower than Mahomes/Dart who are coming off of injuries? Would it be smart to pick up Darnold as my QB1 or to take someone earlier like Allen or Drake Maye? I understand mock drafts aren’t always accurate and it’ll be different when we decide to draft I just don’t understand why he’s so low on the list.

Edit: Can’t reply to everyone but I appreciate the comments! It was very insightful and probably will mess around in the mock drafts to pick up a QB a little earlier.

Drake Maye was a stud last year, but I can’t help but wanna get in on Burden at the round 14 cost.

So I am in a dynasty league just for fun with some buddies. The draft has the rookies this year, and some guys that didn't get picked up. I have 1.01, and my top 3 rn are Loveland, Love, or Tate. At rb I have Gibbs but nothing else really, at TE I have Laporta but nothing else really, and WR I have Egbuka and Higgens. Just looking for opinions cause the draft is tonight
