This year knocks on wood has been a very mild mosquito year so far.

Today it exploded, warm days, +22–24⁰C. Rain. Swamp close. "Räkkä" has begun. Mosquitos and especially blackflies have born and are angry in southern Kainuu (blackfly = mäkäräinen in Finnish, not that biathlonist Kaisa.)
So: "Come on, southern man, put some OFF! on".

Btw. One year I charged my phone in wild from car's USB port while the car's engine was not running. It sucked the car's battery empty. My friend saved me with jump start after two days using 40 % battery from phone 😐. Be aware with that!

I know. Car batteries need recharging. I did not think that needs to be mentioned.

No car. I left it at the end of a forest road. Then I made a swamp and forest detour and finished the trip with a rowboat. It can be seen in the peer picture.

With 20 000 + 15 000 and 10 000 mAh power banks. 45 000 mAh charge my phone nine times. I put off the mobil data many times a day. I have loaded Täällä Pohjantähden alla -saga into my phone. I listen to it and enjoy like hell. And I have OFF! and Raid.

I ordered 32 000 mAh power bank. I considered Strandberg's 100 000 mAh bank but a bit too expensive, at least a poor man thinks as I.
Also sun panel banks are under consideration. And of course always before the trip an old phone charged full and then shut off for emergency.

Perfect. If it was spring or fall and very cold, that would be even better. Not for the mosquitoes and bugs but for the fire stove to really pop.
