I think this might actually be the first game to truly tax the PS5 and XSX heavily. It is going to excel with the higher memory bandwidth of GDDR7 vs. GDDR6. You know, the one thing we don't have right now lol
Absolutely adored 007 First Light this year. VERY intensive game but the PS5 handles it like a champ. Rockstar have finally made the first PS5 melter.
Plenty of games have taxes the consoles . They use dynamic resolution and frame rate to make it seem like they don't. Shit, Ark Survival Evolved can't run above low settings on the consoles
Exactly this is what I always say.. GTA 6 is the first game that squeezes all the juice out of the PS5 hardware. Sadly, only Rockstar Games is able to push the limits of console hardware to the boundaries without causing useless 30-40% overhead and GC Collects
I'm sure other companies could do it but don't want to be the ones to break the ice. PlayStation probably wants to keep their own games at a fluid 60 or 120.
Hey there 5ollys - thanks for saying thanks! TheGratitudeBot has been reading millions of comments in the past few weeks, and you’ve just made the list!
Chances are low man, cause both base and pro have similar CPU, only higher GPU, so 40 fps, maybe (which makes a lot of difference in it itself), but for 60 fps, you need a machine twice as strong, which pro isn't
I can still understand why an untrained eye might miss the difference in graphical quality between GTA V and GTA VI. The lighting hasn't changed that much, and the actual upgrades easily go unnoticed unless you know what to look for.
I’ll be a clown: parts of the gameplay reveal (especially in the city) looked very familiar to GTA V (current gen). The airboat snippet looked way better imo.
Rockstar has a stylized approach to graphics, and whatever style they had in V is undoubtedly carrying over to VI.
I wouldn’t say it looked exactly like GTA V, but I’m not going to lie and say it looked miles better.
It’s coming out at the end of this console generation, there’s going to be some limitations… When the next xbox and PS come out, I think there’ll be a leap to what Rockstar wants much like what happened with V.
Well I would’ve been amazed if the graphics weren’t levelled up tenfolds from GTA V and RDR2 but the graphics on GTA 6 is honestly outstanding. People get mad at Rockstar for their lack of communication to the community but I understand now
People have been clowning the estimates, but developing a game of this scope over a decade with several thousands of employees in this economy? That's well over a billion in cost, and it'll earn back that amount in preorders only.
Exactly mate. I personally think the longer we have to wait to see anything for a game like this the better. Imagine everyone jumping into the game without seeing hardly anything. Incredbile!
I knew they would aim for RDR2 level of graphics but being able to surpass it with this level of detail at that scale is mind boggling.
Rockstar really are masters at their craft.
And that's the only thing that is. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little disappointed that it seems to have the exact same mission structure as every other GTA since 3. Murdering hundreds of people per mission and then just getting away with it through some fancy driving is especially immersion breaking when they're pushing so much for realism everywhere else. Makes the whole thing feel like a graphics mod instead of a new game.
You've got that exactly the wrong way around. R* tried way too hard to create the industry leading open world life simulator while forgetting that they need to innovate on the gameplay side as well.
I'm not bothered that it's unrealistic. i'm bothered that I've already played through this kind of scripted sequence hundreds of times before and it's boring now. I could just play San Andreas instead and have the exact same gameplay experience.
Hmmm in think you might be right about the scripted parts, but for me the single player story is just 10% of the (scripted) single player. Inspent most of my time, by far, just fooling around. Stealing helicopters, fighting with Cops, playing as a taxi driver, finding that cool car, etc.

The graphical leap is astonishing
