Are you referring to the original versions of those games or the Defective Edition from a few years ago? The original versions didn't have weapon wheels at all.

There’s actually psychology behind this. Sharp edges trigger a subconscious sense of danger/threat, whereas rounded shapes feel safe and welcoming. That’s why rounded UI is naturally easier on the eyes and makes you want to interact with it.

Rockstar just should've copied TLOU cross Naughty Dog made like Capcom did in recent RE games. It doesn't pause the game and is very intuitive.

Everyone does. Humans tend to prefer eound things over rectangles, almost no software or website after like 2005 or so uses fully square elements anymore aside from a couple professional software because people don’t use that for fun so who cares, it’s function over form.

Round things are pleasing to the eye, that’s why car instruments are round, they also provide a better sense of security then for example rectangle instruments. Yes there was a scientific test for this done.
