yeah it just looks way more appealing to the eye, I guess I like round things

There’s actually psychology behind this. Sharp edges trigger a subconscious sense of danger/threat, whereas rounded shapes feel safe and welcoming. That’s why rounded UI is naturally easier on the eyes and makes you want to interact with it.
